Spider-Vice

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Releasing November 5th

Spider-Vice

Purposely spoiling the game to PC players will get you banned INSTANTLY.

Don't engage into fanboyism, it looks ridiculous saying "console peasants" and "inferior", and similar, and any platform wars will be penalised accordingly.

I hope that someone is going to talk about controls during the previews period.

I don't think we will get info on this from them. A lot of previews will focus on the mission, look of the game and how it works. That is it....Even the "PC-focused"  magazines are not going into how the game works and plays with their reviews. Look at the PC Gamer........ just writing about how the game is (in terms of gameplay, story etc) and that is it...Not saying they should just skim over it, but you would expect a PC GAMER magazine to mention specs, optimization, controls etc. IGN and the rest won't even think about it....Wish I am wrong.

I'm actually pretty panic and overhyped at the same time, cuz game is getting released very soon, and we don't have any info about preload, R* Editor, just anything that can stay us calm about actual release at 5th November.
(GTA V flashbacks, omfg..)

It's gonna be fine you'll see. The game was released a year ago. If it was the first release then I would understand your concern. But the game is already here,it's out , everything ok , just 8 more days to go .

Just wondering, are there actually people that have not played the game at all and have not had the story spoiled?

I envy you, between buying it, installing it and other stuff I had going on I didn't get to starting playing it on release day until very late and it was like a physical itch I wanted to play it so much. I was tired but a slogged until I got to Horseshoe Overlook (Chapter 1) and forced myself to turn it off. Watching the opening cutscene and then having it switch in real time to the game play and realising it was finally time had me giddy.

Eight years, it was worth the wait.

I never played it (played the first RDR). However I got spoiled throughout the year, a couple of times and on some completely random video......I actually think I got spoiled again on a random Game Fails compilation video today .............

I feel for you but coming from someone that has played it twice, the game is not defined by the ending. Its the journey, the build up and its amazing.

Oh yeah, I know that. One of the reasons I still really want to play it :)

I wasn't spoiled the complete ending, just some things connected to it and some other things in the story. They are pretty big though. However, it is not the end of the world, but it would be really nice if I did not hear about it....It is just annoying that spoilers came completely random in most cases :D

That's what happened to me.. The best thing to do right now is to play any other game until this gets released. I generally stop YouTube videos if I feel any new thing(other than what I already saw, story/gameplay related) in those.

I bet some people here see the gameplay videos/compilations just to hold on till release and get spoiled.. In the process.

At last... Hope Rockstar doesn't delay the game.

Also, about that pre-load... Do we get that via the official Rockstar twitter account or the Rockstar Support account?

Good, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not playing just because you know some stuff.

Agreed. I think its sh*t that people can put blatant f*cking spoilers in video titles and nothing gets done about removing them. Still, what you think you know might not be correct so its worth experiencing it yourself.

I had the games ending spoiled (through multiple ways) and the ending was still epic to me. The game is a fantastic journey.

Also to those who will be playing it for the first time, without spoiling anything, do not skip the Stranger missions. There's some incredible stories there.

Some of them are pretty certain but others...not so much :D So that is a good thing. The story is so big with a lot of characters that there are still many surprises left for me...Even though I know how some things end I really want to see the journey there, how it happened etc. I mean, even before the spoilers we could guess how it goes based on RDR, but I am interested in seeing how it goes there, step by step etc. In this case the journey is much more important then the destination :)

Is that tied to the one in RDR1?

How can we share screenshots in the forum? (asking because I asked support about pre-load information)

Stranger missions are the games side missions, where you interact and help random strangers.

What you're thinking of is The Strange Man I think.

Paste the direct link into the text box (ie something like www.imgur.com/1978591.png") and it should auto embed.

Just paste it here from imgur or paste it from Snaggy or somewhere.

But I think I know what they answered. If the answer is negative, bare in mind that support has no idea what they are talking about in most cases, just some basic information that they give them.

Yep, indeed a little bit negative.

That just means they (Support staff) haven't been given any info on pre-loading. Which makes sense, because Rockstar haven't publicly announced it yet. So why would Support know beforehand?

Talking about this part in particular.

Yeah, they have no idea about that at all as you can see. It is not impossible that we do not have a pre-load, but it is highly highly unlikely.

Zero chance there is no pre-load period.

Some facts.

  • Largest R* game ever at 150Gb
  • First major game launch on their new servers
  • They need to iron out any servers issues in the days prior to launch.
  • A majority of users will not be playing day 1 if they have to download at launch.

Well, this ^

and there is only a digital distribution.

My bet is the pre-load period will start immediately with the next announcement on either Monday or Tuesday next week.

For real, I don't understand why anyone is even worried about this. I think Modern Warfare's preload didn't come up until 4 days before launch.

Correct, i made the link between stranger-strange man. Thanks for clarifying it.

That would be a good thing but i'm not sure the launcher is already able to unzip

Someone already mentioned that R* games on a launcher are not compressed at all. Maybe that will change with RDR2

Man, if I were you I would avoid the forums or any other RDR related stuff.

Motherf*ckers spoiled GTAV endings for me here back in '13.

They got banned fast and their posts were deleted in a few minutes, but I was fast enough to read that sh*t anyway..

what problem people have with videogame spoilers?

It may ruin the experience of a plot twist, speculation that the player has throughout the story, surprises at certain points etc.

Definitely not weird. I've never really cared about spoilers, especially with games with multiple endings like the witcher 3. RDR2 was the exception for me though.

I don't think red dead redemption 2 really has many plot twists though. There is one small one that comes to mind but that's never what people spoil from what I see.
