Purposely spoiling the game to PC players will get you banned INSTANTLY.

Don't engage into fanboyism, it looks ridiculous saying "console peasants" and "inferior", and similar, and any platform wars will be penalised accordingly.

GTA 5 was definitely a step down from RDR1's story.

GTA V is easily IMO, the worst SP GTA experience it ever had. Ironically, GTA Online was fun for me. Really enjoyed it.

Deadeyes doesn't sound that complex, I would just use middle mouse button if I had to. But for me I'm just going to use controller, I get that KB&M controls have to be there but I see no reason why anyone would want to use them unless you want accuracy with the mouse.

Aye, or.. whatever you want, cause rebindable keys. :)

Manual targeting is the last upgrade in SP I believe, it's really nice. RDO has auto paint which is kinda meh.

the beauty of the pc platform

i had a lot of fun with gta 5 because they took a risk with the multiple characters and it was something different with different characters. I enjoyed the idea of michael and trevor but with 3 characters they were under developped. Especially franklin who was a generic "hood gangbanger"

Because GTA 5 has some mission slow and that "realistic" feeling can disturb Someone. Same in this game, its slow but you expect It. Its different

Now that I think about it, drawing your gun (as in, when you slowly hold down the trigger to pull out your gun and instantly get thrown into Dead-Eye) straight up won't be possible with a Keyboard and Mouse unless if they bind a control specifically to it.

It's gonna be real interesting to see how they figure out all the controller-centric controls for PC.

Am I the only one who is going to continue using a controller when playing on PC? :D

It just feels so much more comfortable to me, usually third person games mostly do feel a lot more comfortable with a controller. FPS's are where I draw the line though, it's kb/m for me in that regard.

I played all GTAO generations and I can easily say that the old gen Online was the best, it was the purest GTAO experience.

I wonder how are they gonna make gun duels possible with KB/M! It really feels this game should be played with a controller. But I can't aim jack sh*t with controllers. I absolutely hate it.

I had the pleasure of playing EXODUS with Game Pass to limit the wait for RDR2 but I only noticed now that the price of the monthly Game Pass Is around 13€/$!

Its available only Ultimate! Standard or Beta not exist!!!

How come this thing?

Sorry offtopic

They did indeed mess up with the character development, it's like, almost none of the characters except the protagonists are actually that memorable. When you compare it to GTA SA or VC, it's an entirely different story.

in terms of story, i agree, they overdid with the humor and wackiness, in terms of the open world, it's second only to GTA SA imo

What do u guys think about the map,i mean almost every time i watch a random rdr2 video i stumble upon guys doing different stuff in game but it feels like they are all in similar places

My question is does world feel repetetive or its just my expirience from watching too much videos about the game(spoiler free)ofc.

Most of the videos show the same kind of random encounters out in the wild, so it's probably just too many videos. When you're actually playing the game, the stuff you find is organically spread out and purely depends on how much you explore. There's different encounters that are tied to different areas, though some of them do repeat, it's very likely that won't happen until you've seen most of them.

There are people still finding new things after hundreds of hours of playtime, as well.

I've really tried not to watch any sort of videos on Red Dead Redemption 2 just so the random encounters are new to me

The thing with Witcher 3 is that you don't have to aim at all (only the crossbow but that is it). In RDR aim is central...If it had no aim, controller all the way...With it, however....I have a dillema :D

When it comes to Deadeye on keyboard it will be pretty straight forward. It will be very similar to Max Payne 3 solution. Pause the time aim, paint and press the button again. Maybe they will increase the sensitivity a bit so as to not make it a complete faceroll on the PC with a much more precise mouse, but that is it.

I am more concerned about the draw controls, movement speeds with a horse etc.

I will play with a controller too. Can you adjust the sensitivity of the aim assistance?

Yes, there is a slider that controls the strength of the auto aim.

Drawing your gun will probably be done with the mouse. And as for different horse speeds... I'm guessing two buttons to 'shift gears' up and down. Maybe Shift and Ctrl?

The game world can certainly feel repetitive but not necessarily in a bad way. The world is huge so obviously there is alot of it to see, so in a sense you could say it's repetitive but the game world wouldn't be so big without that repetition. You could have a smaller world that's more dense but it wouldn't be able to loose yourself as much as you do with the huge gameworld we have. That being said though if you looked at RDR2's map and drew a polygon from valentine to emerald ranch to Saint Denis to Rhodes to strawberry to valentine you would roughly have the area where players spend a large portion of their time and where most footage of the game is taken. That may sound like alot of area but if you look at it on the map it's really not alot. I could get even more specific and say if you drew a triangle from flatneck station to valentine to emerald ranch you would have a rough area of where most gameplay videos I've seen on YouTube are taken.

Mouse wheel up/down

Too touchy. Also, typically reserved for scrolling through the weapon wheel, like GTA V. Even on horseback, this is important.

If I remember correctly, controlling the horse's speed on controller involves tapping A (or X) a bunch of times to get it to speed up, then holding A to keep it at that speed. While galloping (max speed) involves constant, rhythmic tapping (if you want to conserve stamina, you tap in sync with the horse's gallop).

One of the bumpers, can't remember which one exactly, serve the function of slowing the horse down or bringing it to a complete halt if held down. I imagine the same could be applied to a keyboard. Tap shift a couple of times to gain the desired canter speed, hold it to maintain. Tap Ctrl or another binding to slow down, hold it to completely stop.

Not sure how galloping at max speed would work, though. If they want to keep the tapping mechanic, it'd have to be a very tap-friendly button. It may end up just being W, honestly.

Y'all don't have side mouse buttons or something? I couldn't imagine not having them to be honest, they're so useful.

I do, and I plan on using them. But many people don't, and most games today are still made with a standard mouse in mind. Though some PC games do offer default bindings for side buttons! I'm always surprised to see that, since I'm used to having to manually assign them.

They are mostly useless on most games. The only game I've played recently that uses them is in The Division 2.

What does this has to do with what I said? Also that was a "speculation" thread ain't it? I speculated wrong, I apologized, I moved on.

If you don't have anything counter productive to say, then don't say anything at all.

But you can bind controls yourself to those side buttons lol. They're actually super useful in FPS games with a lot of options for movement and such.

Damn. Thanks for letting me know. I had no idea you could rebind them to those side buttons.

Are you able to free-roam after the epilogue?

EDIT: A yes, no, maybe would suffice without resorting to spoilers. Thanks.
