i tried it out. the download of a game actually starts over every time you pause it in the rockstar launcher. is that a bug? is there a way to fix/bypass that? i don't know if i will ever be able to finish the download of rdr2 if that proceeds to be the case.

I started the GTAV's download, paused it, cloased the launcher, opened it again and the download was fine, where I left it. 
It's fine, the files get downloaded on your drive, they don't just disappear when the process is stopped.

Finally managed to set-up WOL on my computer after 5 years, i did the auto-logon thing by using the REGEDIT and it works flawlessly, TeamViewer is launching at start, everything is ready for me to start the preload even tho i'm away from the PC. Thanks @(Vip)Met, you reminded me of Wake-On-Lan with your previous posts.

ok you're right, sorry. first time I tried it with vice city. maybe the file size is just so small that it automatically starts over idk, but I tried it again with max payne 3 and it works fine when pausing.

4 day work week next week too, so 3 days for BF V's Pacific Update, one day of work and a day off for RDR2. It's all coming together, exactly as I've planned.

Absolutely. While part of me thinks R* took a bit too long to announce the PC version (at least compared to GTA V’s remaster), I realize that in hindsight, they probably wanted to avoid another triple delay fiasco. And hey, if the end result is significantly smaller gaps between the announcement and release, then I’m all for it.
 

I hope they continue this approach in the future (though I imagine newly announced games will still have longer gaps for marketing campaign purposes).
