Purposely spoiling the game to PC players will get you banned INSTANTLY.

Don't engage into fanboyism, it looks ridiculous saying "console peasants" and "inferior", and similar, and any platform wars will be penalised accordingly.

When can we expect the NVIDIA game ready drivers?

A couple of days before release I'd assume. Either next Friday (1st) or the Monday right before release.

Anyone who had played on consoles, during cutscenes, can we adjust the black bars to see it more like, in full screen?

No, you can't do that.

Definitely not and the cutscenes are pre-rendered videos so i doubt you will be able to with mods either

You mean all of them? It's not like GTA V then?

No, all chapter transitions cutscenes are 21:9 and pre-rendered, all normal missions cutscenes are real time and 16:9.

Didn't it literally take Rockstar a year to reframe the cutscenes just for black bars? No way they'll ever let you turn that off without mods.

I swear that first screenshot looks like those terrible ENB settings you find all over gta5-mods.

No. All cut-scenes are real-time, not pre-rendered. Where did you get that from?

They're real-time like GTA V.

All cut-scenes that have black bars including mission cut-scenes that are 21:9 aspect ratio are real-time.

@Fun 2 Hey fun, sorry for bothering you but this has been eating me up everyday, do you happen to know if there will be character transfers? or if you don't know... do you have a theory?  I know about the post you made about them having the systems in place for it but i still wanted your input.

The game is only 2 weeks away... i just can't take my mind off the possibility of not having character transfers.

Cheers

Yes, the service and the code is all there.

A friend even checked it, he found some texts regarding character transfer but those are just GTAV texts with the title changed to RDR2 so it doesn't really confirm anything.

However, you have to keep in mind everything is all there for them if they wish to do character transfer. So it's 90% gonna happen, also consoles would need an update to add the feature, it depends on whether we are getting a update on November 5th or not.

Idk about RDR2 but loading into singleplay on GTAV is noticibly faster on my SSD

I'm definitely putting RDR2 on SSD. I have GTA V on HDD currently and the loading times are painful.

RDR2 basically has only one loading screen, and that's when you start up the game. More loading can happen when you start up another save game, or die/fast travel. But as far as transitions from areas and missions go; it's all seamless. The load times themselves aren't unbearable, but they can take a little bit.

GTA V benefited from an SSD because of the character switching feature, which would be noticeably quicker. I used to have it on my SSD, but as the game folder grew in size, I decided to move it over to my HDD. It runs exactly the same for me, with slightly longer transitions whenever I switch characters.

I dunno about RDO. Not sure if it has as much loading as GTAO when moving between lobbies and instances. Some of that stuff may be server-side, though?

Also, I noticed better loading times on RDR2... and I played on a normal PS4, imagine on a PC.

Given the size of the game a pre-load isn't unrealistic, neither is a period of 5-7 days for it to happen.

There will probably be more information this weekend or next week for detail like that.

right, I think not many people today can have the game downloaded in just a few hours,

and with the possible download errors or servers throttling (who knows?) it might break the 2 days download time

If you plan to play online and be competitive and you have the space it is worth to put the game on SSD otherwise not. I think with some games you actualy can increase your FPS slightly but not sure (on SSD).

Not really, its more useful for games with big open spaces, as the drive can stream them in faster.

They've literally done it for all the other platforms that had red dead; this is a 100+ gb download we're talking about so I'm sure they will have some sort of pre download

Pretty sure someone datamined the RGL and found mentions of a pre-load function there. Might have been @Spider-Vice. Don't remember tho.

Yeah, there's preload support in the RGL, but then again, just like there was in the old "launcher" as GTA V had a pre-load. We will 100% have a pre-load, don't think anyone should worry.
