Spider-Vice

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Releasing November 5th

Spider-Vice

Purposely spoiling the game to PC players will get you banned INSTANTLY.

Don't engage into fanboyism, it looks ridiculous saying "console peasants" and "inferior", and similar, and any platform wars will be penalised accordingly.

robi, what about shadow box? I mean there shouldn't be one but who knows. This thing can be so annoying in GTA V, shadows are just changing into high quality version of them in front of your face...

Shadow cascades are still present, but they aren’t so annoying on higher settings. I’ve also hated them in GTA V. Fortunately high resolution shadows option has existed.

We should expect driver updates from AMD and NVIDIA soon before the game releases? Maybe we might get a slight glimpse of most of the graphical settings.

Yes, a few days before the release. I guess AMD and NVIDIA have already got the game.

GTA 5 had its game ready driver release 2 days before. There's a reason they call it game ready.... Because it's getting you ready for the game.

Are we ready though? Physically and mentally?

Hey robi, i'm curious about AA in PC version, isn't the game looks blurry like some other AAA games with TXAA on 1080p? (like FFXV for example)

TAA will always be blurry in every game FYI. It's downscaling and reconstructing the image.

I mean, maybe there is also implemented other options (MSAA/FXAA) like in GTA V.

I'm sure there will be, most games have regular forms of AA nowadays. If not, there will probably be a scaling option which works like SSAA.

Can we all just admit we're not as excited for this as we were for GTA V?

Not really.......because I really did not care much when GTA V was released. I wanted to play it, but I had like five GTA's before that, not really dying to play another one ASAP.

Actually I'm even more excited for this than I was for PC version of GTA V since I didn't play this great game yet. RDR was one of the best games I ever played.

Brah.... Not even close. I've been waiting for a red dead game to be on PC for 9 years.

Looks a bit blurry. It’s no more TXAA, but it’s called temporal anti-aliasing. There’s also MSAA, FXAA and frame scaling known from GTA V.

Oh, maybe somebody hasn’t noticed that RDR2 has low option for graphics quality. In GTA V it starts from medium.

MSAA? Why would even someone want to use MSAA in 2019?

Glad DF mentioned the input lag "problem".
The super high quality trailer that they're offering costs $5 dollars of subscription.

Someone who has RTX 2080 Ti and wants to play on the maximum settings. MSAA is a performance killer and it’s f*cked up in GTA V without ENB.

The DF video missed a couple of key points. Fur and the tree trunk in that scene are noticeably improved, so grass draw distance isn't the only thing. Global illumination is hard to say because of the scenes they showed, but we'll have graphics settings to tune all of this, so it's not a worry point.

As for the lower than 4K resolution, of course. The video also pretty much explains that native 4K60 is extremely difficult to attain, especially if it's at very high or near maxed settings, which is why they probably went with a lower native resolution (TAA?) so the trailer could hold 60 FPS at near max settings.

A bit of a lacklustre video from them as it's nothing we didn't know.
