Purposely spoiling the game to PC players will get you banned INSTANTLY.

Don't engage into fanboyism, it looks ridiculous saying "console peasants" and "inferior", and similar, and any platform wars will be penalised accordingly.

im in the market for a 2tb hdd as a secondary drive for my pc so i could have backups for modded and unmodded games for online and such, what would be a good hdd for gaming?

Basically any 7200 RPM HDD that is from a good company like Seagate or WD.

I have had my Seagate 1TB HDD for 8 years now and it's still working fine, but I just bought a cheap but quite fast 480 GB SSD for $50 in preparation for RDR2 PC release.

It's crazy to think that if I still had my very first gaming PC I ever built 6 years ago I would still meet the minimum requirements

I7 3700k, 8gb ram, r9 290

Find stuff to play/watch, revisit games for a second playthrough or DLC is what I do.

I passed the time for the console launch by starting another playthrough of Divinity Original Sin 2, this time around I've been playing the newly released Disco Elysium and will probably check out The Outer World's next week unless it's a train wreck.

Basically I play RPG's cause they're godly to pass the time with lol.

Also playing Disco Elysium. It is really really good so far, really making things go by fast for me :D

I've seen a lot of graphical options for RDR2 not that far ago, few of them are really surprising.

- Fur quality
- Snow glints quality
- Trees quality
- Water settings: reflections, refractions and water simulation.
and much more, mostly matching to the options from GTA V.

Reflections, refractions and water simulation settings? I've never seen that in a game, it really looks like that it's well optimized

The optimization isn’t that bad. The game looks even nice on low graphics quality, except for textures that are very blurry and draw distance of trees, because leaves disappear in the distance. Unfortunately, there seems to be lack of raytracing options, controlling vignette, chromatic abberation or even clouds quality. There’s about thirty graphics options. Grass shadows quality, grass draw distance, two options for ambient occlusion, I don’t know what is the difference between them. Temporal AA finally seems to work, because TXAA in GTA V didn’t work properly. An interesting option is async compute. Supported APIs are dx11, dx12 and vulkan.

Can’t wait to check it on my PC. Which API is the best.

Regardless of source, none of those options seem unrealistic based on what Rockstar has announced and what has been found relating to Vulkan. Seems like we might have an extremely flexible and optimised game if 30 graphics options are true! :p

Indeed, I didn’t believe in this either. There’s more advanced options than normal ones in GTA V 😆

Asynchronous Compute is a "new" technique used to split the task of rendering a frame for a GPU, instead a doing a thing then doing the other, it does both at the same time, if well made in the game/GPU it can increase performance.

it's not really used in games and when it is, the improvements are not noticeable

I have my keys....

Used the nice key site that got me a Borderlands 3 launch key for my son (Never let me down after a 4 month pre-order), and they've offered a good deal, saving £25 for two copies of the Special Edition via the RGL, not Epic.

It's part of DirectX 12's API. Some games already offer an option, others have removed it because it's just on by default. I'm glad it's toggleable because some Nvidia generations have slight performance losses due to shoddy Async Compute implementation (driver-side not game-side).

I said before Rockstar seemed to be hiding a ton of things and they keep saying "and more" "and more" when talking about improvements and stuff, so we might be in for a surprise. Perfect way to hype a PC release, show off some stuff then when previews start raining down, drop all the megatons when you let journalists see it all. :p

Maybe this is why DF isn't talking about the PC trailer, imagine if they already have the game and are looking at these options. I would hope, cause I can't wait for their videos.

Hope Rockstar won’t remove those all options in the official build.

If those are all true I don't see any reason to. Not like people wouldn't be able to hack them via the settings file anyway. The game has probably gone gold at this stage so...  Those options seem in line with a proper PC game and GTA V already had some nice ones so I'm sure it'll all be in.
