RDR2 PS4 Can't talk with NPCs in story

After not playing RDR2 for a few months I decided to jump into the story mode and finish off some side quests but not long after I started playing I realized that I could no longer interact with any of the NPCs with the L2 button.

I was thinking it was because I had a bounty so I went back to a previous save just to check and it was the same.

I also tried going to other towns just incase but iti Didn'tmatter where I was, it was the same everywhere.

 

I tried deleting and reinstalling the game but nothing changed.

 

If anyone knows a fix for this problem and could give me an answer or solution to it, it would be much appreciated.

Sorry I wish I had an answer. I have the same problem as you (stopped playing for a while, came back and this was happening. Rockstar doesnt care at all). Some people are saying come back to the npc after a while and itll work. Nothing has worked for me so far. I'm going to try to reset the settings by pressing r1+l1 when it boots up after turning it off for 30 seconds. Other than that I dont know. Have you solved the problem yet for yourself?
