Toy collector hunt is worthless.

I just got around to doing the latest treasure hunt.    Took forever to find all the toys, 150k is not worth it.    My buddy made double that playing LTS, and he even took breaks while I pretty much steady played.     R* couldn't even give us a cool new laser gun or alien blaster, just a costume.     And even the costume is lazy.    I played on my female character thinking maybe they'd give the women a Princess Bubblegum outfit or something, but no it's just Impotent Rage all around for all genders.

What a waste of time.

The only good treasure hunt was the first one promoting RDR2, at least we got the nice golden revolver out of that.    The playing card and toy collector hunts have both been awful.

You unlock the action figures for the penthouse too. I agree though, too long. I was so burnt out at the end, I used a foxysnaps video to finish the last 20 or so.

Another way in which Rockstar enjoys laughing at us. The ultimate were the Pegasus vehicles from Arena War.

I've done it three times now. (Three accounts) Did it in less than two hours on my third run at it. But yeah, it's a little punishing.

Didn't care about the outfit or the GTA $, I just wanted to display the action figures on that shelf in the master bedroom, along with the special card set for collecting the 54 cards.

I did it for the haircut only, and kinda got bummed out once I saw how comically BIG it is on our character's head.

Not doing it again on my secondary character, the hunt took me over 2 hours and I was rushing it with my Thruster(which I don't have on my 2nd character anyway)

I like it - I guess.

Although I don't care about the hunt and only find the toys by coincidence, collectibles are a classic element of all GTA games, so why not have it in GTA Online as well? The more you can do in this game, the better.

And doing activities in this game doesn't have to revolve around the forever goal of making profit. Activities and challenges in video games are made for the purpose of entertainment. I don't play Survivals for the cheesy payout of $10k, but for the fun I have with my friends. But each to their own.

I like it, I just didn't like how it was over 100.

The cards? Those were just the right amount and took less than a hour to get.

The figures? Took me TWO and a half hours, nonstop.

I'd love them to design a new challenge that needs reasonably decent problem-solving skills as well as an adventure, maybe with an element of randomness so that you can't solve it by just following someone else's map.

You're playing the wrong mode if you're only making $10k.

But a lil bit disappointed that they only gave us the Impotent Rage costume and no Princess Robot Bubblegum

Lonely-Martin

A GTA classic, of course I loved it!

If I was after maximum money I wouldn't though, but I wouldn't waste any time copying you mate either, lol. There's many ways to earn with plenty of guides to cut out the bollocks too, but once you get to a point, money and RP means sod all over sheer entertainment (shouldn't anyway, but such is the game). Having reason to fly/drive about is better than not, lol. Win/win for me but I like the unlocks a lot too.

I want more. :)

This would be great too, though I feel it'll be more used in RDRO as the collector role is a bit more dynamic like this, but if we got similar stuff here, that'd be great.

(The role in RDR isn't full of clues but we have to use our intuition to follow the metal detector, much like one of the Kifflom/Epsilon side missions for Michael with the device to find random objects).

Fully agreed!

I did not start to hunt these collectibles yet but I actually collected 6 or 7 of these toys by accident, I was walking by or doing Sightseer... I think I might start this then. Did you guys use a guide?

I just hope once they add Peyote Plants to Online those won't be as hard to find as the underwater ones in Single Player.

I used the guide to find them. Took a long time indeed. But I liked that they introduced something like this to the game...

Didn't do it for the money nor outfit. Just to get the figures. Still need to complete it for my secondary character. I think I'll hold out on that one for a lil.. :)

I like the pompadour some. I've been rocking it with a greaser outfit (striped rolled sleeve shirt, regular fit jeans, canvas shoes and wayfarers).

OK, well... at least in Online we can equip a scuba suit and use a Seabreeze.

In Single Player I remember Cargobob'ing the Dinghy from the Sonar Collections Dock because it's the only way to equip diving gear.

Yep, if you have a scuba suit you'll want to make sure it's saved so you can safely look for it.

At least there's one benefit from no animals.... no sharks!

Nobody's forcing you to do it. It's more of a symbolic things. If you want the impotent rage outfit and show off to everyone that you took your time to collect all the action figures go ahead.

and I think that when the peyotes come out you have to collect the figures first before unlocking peyotes

$150k is the bonus on completion. You also get $1k per figure so it adds up to a still measly $250k.

$250k means nothing to me. I'm doing it for the matching RP. 250k RP is a decent chunk.

5 of us went through the first 50 the other night in an army truck. That's a challenge in itself, keeping the one truck alive throughout. We stopped at 50 for round 2 next week.

I agree with @Lonely-Martinand some others. You shouldn't be doing these for the cash, but for the fun of playing GTA online. TBH, I still haven't done the action figures (got one doing Headhunter, that's all), but will take some time off later to cruise around the map in one of my many favourite cars with its top down and the imaginary Los Santos sun and breeze in my imaginary hair.

I  t thought it was enjoyable. The RP was nice. Not like the game is forcing you to do it. Don't understand the complaints about things like this...

I enjoyed it as well. It also took me to places on the map that I had never been to before.

... at least here I've got some.

Seriously got a bit of a Phil Collins situation going on over here. It just keeps slipping back and back. 🤣🤣
