kcole4001
Yeah, if I'm running about collecting not interested in doing Trader stuff the camp stays around to charge me the $1, if I want to hunt and sell, it won't spawn. At least I don't get charged the $2 every time it doesn't set up. ventogt
Leftover Pizza
I'd really like to know how many camps are active in a lobby when you can't place one yourself. If the list shows 22 players, how many have a camp setup? It's 21 max, for sure, cause mine never pitched at those numbers. So how many camps can a lobby actually handle? Rockstar should know these numbers, so they also know how to fix the issue. If upping data transfer isn't possible, then lowering the amount is the one thing to go by. But they simply don't and let the playerbase rot in their misery. They are free to do so, of course. But that doesn't mean we have to put up with that attitude. TCA
Was just in a lobby 11 including myself and the animals were spawning perfectly fine as well as camp. Idk do you guys think it’s because there are just too many players in the lobby, that could be causing the problems? That’s how I’m seeing it. For animal spawns, if I’m in a lobby of 19 players or less, then I have no issues. If there are 20 players or more, animal numbers are either drastically reduced, or completely eliminated. Camps are a bit more finicky. It can take a few attempts over the course of 5-10 minutes to get a camp pitched. It follows a similar trajectory though, where higher player counts tend to cause more camp pitching problems, even if it’s not as cut and dried. kcole4001
If there is indeed a hard camp limit, when you pay to set your up it should notify you that you'll have to switch sessions and give you the option to continue or abort, then give you your camp if you continue without fail. There is no excuse for continuing problems loading a portion of the game. Leftover Pizza and ventogt

Then again, it gives you the option to pitch it anywhere else, which doesn't work most of the time. Also, I don't think the game charges you for every attempt on pitching a camp or at all when unsuccessful. Even when you manage to get a camp pitched, there is no guarantee it's still there 20 minutes later. I've not had that happen much, though, but it happened (or got re-pitched in a different area, without you initiating it). According to some, these aren't game breaking bugs. According to a sh*t ton of others, it is. There is indeed no excuse to maintain a badly working game element.

Yes I know, my point is that when you accept to pay the $2 you should get a notification if the session can't support any more camps and if you continue you will be put in a new session. You may not want to if you're carrying carcasses/pelts on your horse and will lose them by switching sessions, so then have the option to go sell them at the butcher before continuing to set up in a new session. If the limit can't be increased, at least that would give a decent mechanism to proceed to setting up somewhere. Right now people have to session hop until their camp shows up, so an organized procedure would be a step forward.
Leftover Pizza
Imagine this sh*t happening in GTAO, where you'd see your warehouses, hangars, bunkers, facilities, MC clubhouses, offices and safe houses disappear from the map constantly. Or spawns missing to complete your sales/stock up missions. The sh*tstorm would be real and I'm sure Rockstar would be all over the issue to get it solved asap. Here, in RDO, total different story. Would be a nice feature, but I prefer they just fix what they have before adding more complication to it. Honestly there is no good reason it doesn’t work well. Lobby population isn’t always the problem because I had it happen to me multiple times with only a handful of players or in a lobby solo. I’ve had a full lobby where my camp popped up upon request in a prime location. There is ~100+ potential camp locations. Again, your solution has merit but imo it would be easier to just find the fix rather than put more crap on top of crappier crap. That sh*t tends to crumble. kcole4001
Agreed, and I'm not 100% convinced there is a hard limit, I've never been in a session with fewer than 20+ players. It's all new on PC and no matter what time of day it's chock full of players. That said, the Titan glitch has been in GTAO since June 2016 apparently, so hopefully R* puts some priority on this as it affects many more people much more often. It's a much biger deal. ReidGuy
I landed on this page because of this issue. Sitting here with this page open, I accidentally got it to work, albeit still glitchy. Here's the scenario and how it ended up working for me. I have yet to try it again to confirm if it worked so if anyone has the issue and tries my way, let me know if it worked... or I'll edit this if it happens to me again. All posse's I'm a part of are inactive at the moment, just logged on and no camp. Go to set up my small camp but when I choose my location the 'Size and Location' option is flickering, while at the bottom the message is 'Setting up camp'. Eventually it just stops and nothing happens. All I did was I picked random locations, until one actually worked. For me it was Bayou Nwa. I didn't want to set up there so I chose a different spot but it was still glitched and wasn't working so I set it up in Bayou Nwa. I went back to change my location immediately after setting up and the flickering is still occurring when I chose a new spot, but I choose the new location(Tall Trees) anyway and even though it is glitching, I back out and it tells me he has set up in Tall Trees. No idea if that was random I'll edit this if I recreate it.
