Yeah, I know things are much better in terms of money making, some glitches have been patched, the game is indeed all that I've been waiting for, and as always loads of potential for more. The $4k per day isn't possible without the metal detector, which I only just bought last night after a week of chasing cards & heirlooms. I managed about $1000 at best so far and that's after more than 6 hours of play, but it'll get easier, I'll know the map better, etc. I've spent time grinding in GTA, not going after that sort of play style in RDO. Once I have a few thousand and the basic tools to properly play, I'll aim at the most enjoyable pursuits, not going to make a job out of the game. I'm glad you're enjoying the game, it's my new home in gaming. Also, your way is the best way--not making the grind a chore. I'm just addicted to the dopamine I get from seeing my wealth increase. I LOVE the game and am really excited for all the new content and I like having a surplus to get whatever comes next. I'm sick though; in reality $10-15k is more than enough going by last update to get all the new tools, clothes and cards that will inevitably come. I'm getting a lot of satisfaction doing what I do though and that's all that matters for any of us, be we filthy map abusing whores like me or adventure oriented cowpokes the likes who have commented in here. Me too and I have loads of useless millions on my bank account there. Last time I checked it was $271mln, while I have everything I want and everything I don't want too. That game has nothing more for me to gain, other than the dripfeed items each week. With the nightclub accruing goods, the money is coming in by doing nothing, literally. Absolutely not what I want to see happen in this game. ALifeOfMisery, kcole4001 and Rev. Gnash

I've got $322+ million and just waiting on interesting things to buy, haven't played really since RDR2 released, that's taking all my gaming time for the forseeable future. In RDO I don't want to go too fast either, you gotta have a goal to work toward or it'll start feeling empty. I just want to feel like my character's living the life and enjoy the scenery. Rev. After it was patched I remember watching his streams and he'd just be walking around on his horse with nothing to do and no motivation to do anything. He had $250k and about 1000 gold. Rev. Gnash
Yeah - I was on "that other website". When the founder, released it Yelloweye something. That guy, stumbled upon some game breaking sh*t. Sidenote: If you are a PVP player; that glitch was a god sent. You suffer nothing. Edited November 14, 2019 by Rev. After my experience doing the pac standard and bogdan exploits and having more money that I could ever spend and it making the game less enjoyable I decided not to make the same mistake with RDO. kcole4001
DarksunDaFirst
I have used the map - but only to find a couple extra pieces that I just couldn’t find even after I had figured out that it was a 3-day cycle, and the majority of dig mounds are random items. The few pieces I couldn’t find, both were a “oh my god, I swear I came to this spot a 100 times before...”. Just never came on the right day. Before I started seriously collecting I had about $2-3k on me consistently. Before the update I had less than $1k. Of course before the update I was only about rank 30 (played very little pre-update because it was just so boring and repetitive). Since the update my range has consistently increased, but I’m still buying lots of stuff and upgrading things - had 1 card maxed out 2 months ago. Now I have 12 and 3 more on the way. Camp upgrades, new horses, new tack, a lot of pamphlets...I now have about $14k, but have earned upwards of about $60...maybe more. And I mostly did trader stuff before the past couple of weeks. Gold Bars is a bit less lopsided. Have 145 of them, spent 270 (Trader and BH were free for me). The rate at which I accelerated from this update is insane. Was rank 30, now rank 180. Had less than $4k spent and in pocket, now have 20x that. And now I have one full round collection set, plus 4 more completed collections (coins, arrowheads, heirlooms, bracelets)... Collector is definitely the way to go if you’re Solo. Trader is the way the go if you have a group of 4 or more - just posse up for sales. Hoping they do a Trader bonus soon. But I’m guessing the main point of this one is to allow the PC folks to do some early cash running. Edited November 15, 2019 by DarksunDaFirst Rev. kcole4001
I'm pretty sure they changed the day rotation to random, I had a note to keep track of which day we're on, but after Tuesday it's now wrong, so I have to go by trial and error until I found which day's list to use. =================================================== It's remarkable how fast I got to the $1000 spent in shops achievement, and now I've done it twice after playing for a week & half. I suspected they did that too but sometimes I’ve found that a few pieces will just glitch out - either it won’t prompt to dig, you’ll dig but never pick anything up, or the piece is missing entirely in that session (not in any 3 locations). So that can also throw ya off. Best thing I do is break out my maps (I did it old school - printed off maps and made my own markings), whenever I log in I check all 3 days to see what is closest - then see what is actually in game. That tells me what day it is. kcole4001
kcole4001
Yep, so far I've found the missing item by switching to another day's list. Finished the liquor bottles last night. Still working on heirlooms, and now that I have the metal detector I should embark on a coin hunting spree.

1898
I've had 2 birds nest locations that had the gold sparkle but there were no nests. Also had a dIg location that showed up for another player but not for me. But WTH, this morning I cashed in 4 collections. $$$$
