It seems that you have the wrong version of the game. You need 1.0 with the original main.scm (present in data/scripts/main.scm, size: 3079599 bytes, MD5: 60ad23e272c3b0aa937053fe3006be93).

Can you try to keep most of the features of this mod compatible with custom main.scm's?

Most of the features are compatible with custom main.scm's, it's only the mission randomizer that's incompatible because of obvious reasons

How do you get the dinput8.dll? It doesn't show in the Ultimate ASI Loader zipfile

You have to download it from the Releases tab on GitHub. Make sure you download the x86 one (should be on top of the assets) and not the x64 one

Check this video if you still have trouble installing it

Ensure that the config.toml file in the rainbomizer folder and not the game folder. Confirm that the toml is actually valid, check the top of the log file and see if there are any toml parsing errors printed.

the config.toml file is in the rainbowmizer folder and the log file is nowhere to be found and if i delete the config.toml file a new one is not created

Release v2.1

It's a minor update for the 2.0 release of Rainbomizer that includes a DYOM randomizer, clothes randomizer, wanted level randomizer and a respawn randomizers, along with other changes. All the changes in this version are listed below.

New Features

  • A DYOM randomizer that loads a random mission from the DYOM website. (Requires the latest version of DYOM and CLEO to be installed).
  • A clothes randomizer that randomizes clothes every fade (when the screen turns black).
  • An experimental wanted level randomizer that randomizes the wanted level from crimes. You can also get negative chaos points, i.e you can lose wanted stars.
  • An experimental respawn point randomizer that puts you at a random location in map every time you get wasted or busted.
  • Rainbomizer credits can now be disabled from the config file.

Bug Fixes

  • Weapon Stats Randomizer: Updated weapon flag (by @SRewo) - Fixes several crashes while using the weapon stats randomizer.
  • Having a parachute in the inventory now no longer kills you on starting a mission.
  • Having an incompatible main.scm will make the Mission Randomizer no longer work, so ensure that you have the v1 main.scm to be able to properly use the mission randomizer. (This check can be disabled in the config file)

Updates

The Rainbomizer has become quite a lot more than what it was when it was first release. I never expected the mod to become more than just random cars, and now it has expanded to have over 21 randomizers in total! There have been various new people that have helped with the projects along with the ones that did from the start. Rainbomizer was originally only intended for San Andreas, but with the help of various people, I've been able to expand it to other games.

First, I'd like to announce the official Rainbomizer Discord server. This is the place where you can follow development as it happens, get support, help by suggesting new features and much more. You will also have the access to the beta-builds with the features that might not be released until the next month or so.

Rainbomizer is no longer only an San Andreas exclusive mod. GTA_Madman has worked on his own randomizers for Vice City and GTA 3.
https://github.com/GTAMadman/GTA-III-Rainbomizer
https://github.com/GTAMadman/Vice-City-Rainbomizer

Besides GTA 3 and Vice City, Rainbomizers for GTA IV ( also EFLC) and GTA V are also in development. Both only recently started development and hence aren't ready for release. I do have several teasers of how they will look when they're released though...

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. I downgraded the Steam version using this downgrader and I followed this video but as I have two gtasa.exe-files, and I click the non-Steam version, nothing happens. The Steam version starts though

Someone, please help me!

In the first time that I played, it worked very well. But, the next time that I started the game, it not worked and I don't know why.

All the files is ok. I took a print from the GTA Directory (https://imgur.com/a/jcjzh7V).

I have the exact same problem, first time I played it (Around a week ago) it worked fine, but suddenly it does not, nothing is randomized at all.

Doesn't look right to me, there is no rainbomizer folder. Make sure the asi has write permissions to a rainbomizer folder in the SA game directory.

Great job, I love the mod and the new features. First tried it when only the vehicles, the colors and the lines were randomized. I have noticed some weird models though and I am interested in where you got them from. Who is the dude on the left (black shirt) and this creepy eyed woman?

Rainbomizer
A Randomizer for GTA: San Andreas

Rainbomizer is a mod for GTA San Andreas that randomizes many aspects of the game. It allows for a replay of the game in a new, fun way.
The mod randomizes everything from traffic, car colours, handling, mission vehicles, weapons, cutscenes, colours and even the missions!
The mod was designed to be played on the original game, and hence might conflict with any other mods installed.

All the randomizers currently present in the mod are listed below:

Traffic Randomizer Randomizes cars that spawn on traffic including law enforcement vehicles.
Parked Car Randomizer Randomizes cars which are found parked around the map including airplanes at airports with entirely random spawns.
Script Vehicle Randomizer Randomizes the vehicles you are given in missions. The randomizer makes sure that you get vehicles that are usable for the mission.
(NEW) Colour Randomizer Randomizes the colours of various in-game elements, including cars, the HUD, and fades. Includes 128 colours hue cycle.
(NEW) Mission Randomizer Randomizes which mission is started by each mission marker. When the randomized mission is complete, the game progresses as if you completed the original.
Weapons Randomizer Randomizes the weapons that are dropped/wielded by the player/enemies.
Pickup Randomizer Randomizes weapon pickups scattered around the map, as well as the appearance of certain other types of pickups.
Voice Line Randomizer Randomizes dialogues spoken by characters in missions. *(Requires original AudioEvents.txt)*
(NEW) Cutscene Randomizer Randomizes the models used in motion-captured cutscenes, as well as the location in which they take place.
(NEW) Blip Randomizer Randomizes every radar blip on the map with a different icon.
Police Helicopters Randomizer Randomizes the helicopters that the police spawn in with working spotlight and gun.
Cheat Randomizer Randomizes which cheat activates when you enter a cheat.
License Plate Randomizer Randomizes the license plates of vehicles to a random word.
Experimental Randomizers (unstable)
Handling Randomizer Shuffles the handlings of vehicles.
(NEW) Particle Randomizer Randomizes all of the game's particle effects.
(NEW) Weapon Stats Randomizer Randomizes properties of all weapons, including their damage, fire rate, and clip size.
(NEW) Object Randomizer Randomizes objects spawned by mission scripts into other objects.

Installation

Prerequisites

  • An ASI Loader (Ultimate ASI Loader is recommended)
  • GTA: San Andreas v1.0 US (Other versions are not supported)

Installation

  1. Download the Rainbomizer archive from GitHub Releases (check the Downloads section)
  2. Extract the ASI file (optionally the config file) into the scripts folder or the root directory of your San Andreas Installation.

Configuration

  • rainbomizer/config.toml contains the configuration options for Rainbomizer.
  • It will be automatically created by the ASI File upon launching the game. Alternatively, you can find the default config file in the archive.
  • The config file uses the TOML format and can be opened in any text editor (like Notepad). It is similar in structure to INI files.
  • To enable/disable a certain Randomizer, you have to locate its section in the config file, and change the Enabled key to true/false to enable/disable it.
  • Documentation for additional configration options for individual randomizers can be found in the default config file.

(You can get the crash logs by creating a CrashDumps folder if you have the Ultimate ASI Loader installed)

Great mod will this work on mobile too?

Could this work on android too?

It crashes when I load the save. I was on a last misson (which was supposed to be End Of The Line), 1st part was a gas station robbery with Catalina, the 2nd one was Tenpenny blowing the crack factory, which I failed. Now I can't reenter the savegame, because the game crashes.

Hmm, does't seem to work with Windows XP. Whenever I launch the game it says "The procedure entry point SHGetKnownFolderPath could not be located in the dynamic link library SHELL32.dll.". This error appears only when I try to launch the game with this mod installed :/

It's probably because you're using an operating system that has been obsolete for at least the last 6 years.

For some reason, no matter what I tried, my missions won't randomize at all. I've done a clean steam install, got a 1.0 exe, installed the asi loader, tried everything, but the missions all turn out to be what they're supposed to be even if it's on in the config. And everything else works.

What could be the cause of this?

Edit: So it's the main.scm check. Steam has an incompatible main.scm. Do your homework, kids.

Since I have your attention, have you ever considered a ped/mission character model randomizer, or is that even possible?

Yo, I've got a lil problem, I've done all the missions except that one from sweet which is supposet to be "end of the line", and it says to cap more territories but I don't have them on the map, I think it is because there are some principal missions which I didn't did like that one from Las Venturas where I have to scare a guy driving the car fast, but I dont have somewhere to do this mission, I have only on sweet, any idea what can I do now?

Yep, mission randomizer is disabled if you don't have the correct main.scm. Without this check, the missions would still randomize, but progression of some missions will not work properly because of the differences in the main.scm file.

That is possible. Some work has been done on it, but focus has recently been on developing randomizers for other games.

It's interesting that you don't have gang territories on the map. It's not because of not completing Fender Ketchup since that's not related to enabling gang territories. Could you send me your save file for further investigation?
