After the update, you can use a subset of CSS properties on posts if you use inline styling.  I made the entire opening post in HTML, and copied it to the post editor when I was finished. The image on the header has the  `background-attachment: fixed` property, which makes it not scroll with the window when you scroll, making it look like it moves.

 

123robot did several streams of the mod during beta-testing

Nice, it's finally released!

 

I had a lot of fun testing this and also bringing in a couple of ideas :D

 

And by fun I obviously mean I suffered a bunch whilst playing with this, but in a good way.

It is doable, but it isn't something that I'd consider making much impact on the gameplay, so I'd prefer to get the experimental randomizers stable at the moment, and then come to adding other randomizers like the Ped Randomizer.

The crash seems to be related to the Randomized License Plates. I didn't actually test that with a different GXT file/language, so I suspect that might've been the cause for the crash. I'll try it with different GXT file and see if I can try and reproduce the crash.

Wow this is awesome! Do you think it's possible to make randomization for specific vehicles and to exchange them with specific models? For example like exchanging HPV1000 with a model that originally should replace the cop bike?

Oh and is it possible to make car color randomization for all registered colors in carcols.dat?

You must be right, I'm using portuguese translation. Many license plate get buggy, maybe because of accents.

In fact, I initially didn't know it used GXT, so I saw Portuguese words on the license plates and laughed a lot.

It's cool if you're 10 years old but... really.

 

I wish mission order, spawning and enemy/objective placement and AI behavior was randomized so replaying the game would be at least worth it.

When I click new game, there isn't anything randomized. I have game version 1.0 and have Ultimate ASI Loader installed. I did everything the installation told me to do.

Could you send me the "rainbomizer.log.txt" file? If there isn't such a file, it means you didn't install the Ultimate ASI Loader or the mod correctly.

Could you ensure if the asi file (librainbomizer.asi) and the config file (rainbomizer.toml) are present in either the root directory of the game or in the scripts folder? If there isn't a rainbomizer.log.txt file, that means that the mod isn't being loaded by the ASI Loader.

If you have Ultimate ASI Loader, would you be able to send me the latest crashdump from the crashdumps folder in the SA directory? If it doesn't exist, you'll have to create the folder, and cause the game to crash again.

Hi, is there any guess why your mod is always crashing when I hit new game? I honestly have no idea why it does that

I downgraded the game to (because I have Steam version) to 1.0 US version via RockstarNexus' downgrader, and installed Ultimate ASI Loader
No matter what I do it will always crash when I start a new game, the log only displays these lines with a randomized values between the = symbols:

It seems to be an issue with some installations of the game (or the ASI Loader) which I unfortunately cannot reproduce.

 

Putting this ASI alongside Rainbomizer should fix the crash. I'm not sure why it affects only some installations though.

Oh I fixed the problem myself. The problem was that I pasted the asi and toml files to data/script instead of pasting it to the scripts folder.

Release v1.1

Update v1.1 for Rainbomizer adds the Weapon Randomizer along with Autosaves. The Weapon Randomizer uses patterns to choose which weapons to replace in certain missions, so that all missions are doable. You can modify these patterns in the rainbomizer.toml file.

Autosaving has been implemented, and it autosaves by default in the 8th slot. There is no visual indication of an autosave yet. You can change the slot or disable the autosave altogether in the rainbomizer.toml file.

New Features

  • Weapon Randomizer is now stable!
  • Autosaving is implemented for all missions that increase the player's progress and each of the End of the Line parts.

Bug Fixes

  • Crash fixes for Badlands and Desert related to Police Bikes.
  • Planes without landing gears no longer blow up in Freefall, Saint Mark's Bistro and Landing Test in Flight School
  • Script Patterns have been updated to make Cut Throat Business and several other missions easier.
  • Fixed Outrider crash
  • Fixed crash on startup without CLEO.
