A nice historic mission is rarely to be seen in DYOM. Maybe this competition would be fun.

 

I'm thinking on participating, but not sure if i want to.

Your participation is always great and welcome, but in the end it depends on your personal preference of the theme. You're always welcome to wait for the next MOTW for a theme better suited to your preference. Anyway, looking forward to a mission from you, whenever that might come.

For some people who are thinking to participate but really don't have time to search up the history of Yugoslavia in Google, here's some facts about Yugoslavia:

 

(Tito-Stalin Split)

Yugoslavia and Russia (Or you can say USSR) are real chill after the WW2, some saying them the closest allies. However, not with Yugoslavia's PM, Tito, which is just basically searching for war. He tried to mess with the Western Allies, basically UK and their bros, and well of course Stalin don't like that. Tito then says "Ok, let's just mess with USSR" and then says "Why don't we, you know, merge with our best friend Bulgaria?" without Stalin's agreement. Stalin thinks that  "Alright, Yugoslav is just real bad here and trying to mess with me!" and then kicks Yugoslavia out of the socialist states as, Oh no Yugoslavia is now becoming capitalism, so to say. Titoism becomes a thing and it's a major threat in Moscow, until, well, Stalin dies and Yugoslavia make a real chill deed again with USSR (well, not too chill) and yeah, that's how it ends.

 

(Yugoslavia in World War 2)

Here's the thing. Yugoslavia's government is dead, because of Nazi and his besties. Now because of this, there are 2 groups: Chetniks, supporting Nazi; Partisan, supporting USSR. All the things are just them fighting each other until, Oh wow Chetniks are two. First is just Nazi follower and second is like kinda Nazi while being supported by the western allies (Correct me if i'm wrong). There were like 7 Major Offensives by German to eliminate Partisans but those people are just too strong. Well, they kinda did get push back but then, when Albania and Bulgaria switched sides to USSR, and Chetniks now fully with Nazi, Partisans are a hell to deal with. The thing is, even the Yugoslavia Government says "Mannn! Those Partisans really fight well! And look at their handsome leader Josip Broz Tito, damn guys we should support these guys!" and they support Partisans alongside UK and USA. And, well, after the German got bombed, they surrendered, Partisans beat the hell out of Croatian and remaining revolutionary forces. And yes, they become Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia.

 

(Yugoslav Wars)

Didn't read all that much here. Well, according to my knowledge, The Republic fell. They're becoming Croatia (Best for them after their country got destroyed), Slovenia, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Well, don't know what the problems are, but yeah just make a mission of for example Croatian Revolutionary Forces VS Yugoslavia's Forces.

 

(Non-Aligned Movement)

Well, it's basically created by a pact between 3 countries: Yugoslavia, India, and Egypt. After that, Indonesia, Ghana, and Burma (Myanmar) joins with like some observers. And then, it becomes very large and basically this is the largest alliance even in-par with the United Nations. When Yugoslavia breaks, most of them becoming only observers, not members anymore, as Yugoslavia like the head of this movement, so yeah this is sad. The movement is still up until now, with like 120 countries in the members and 17 become the observers. 

 

 

Well, that's some tips for you. I really need improvement in this really uncool facts so Seagull, help me improve this thread.

@LordStarship Woah, this thread just evolved into a history lesson! Well, jokes aside, I appreciate the fact that you put together these facts for participants to keep in mind while designing. Do you think you might be able to participate in this one?

WW2 there was actully 3 factions In yugoslavia. 1. Chetniks ( supporting Kingdom of the yugoslavia) 2. Partizans, supporting idea of socialism and communism, 3. Ustashs, besties with Nazis and Italy bois, supporting idea of NDH- Nezavisna drzava Hrvatska, ( Independet Stare of Croatia ).

Fun facts:

1. During Tito Stalin Split, Staljin sent 3 assasins to kill Tito , but failed misrably. Tito sent letter to Staljin, overaimplified:

Yo, stop sending fuken assasins. If u dont staph, i will send just one, and he will not fail.

Ur enemy, Josip Broz Tito

(Rakija is better than Vodka)

2. Yugoslav wars, ah, no information is correct. Everybody is making their own version of it. Croatia says that Serbs and Bosnians dis genocides, Serbs say that Croatia and Bosnia did genocides, etc.

Yes theres info bout Yugo wars, but umm, u cant trust no one. Sure u can go to teh wiki read something, make mission etc, but info might be incorrect

That's surely an option, but i consider this theme an easy one as you don't need to make it with a theme. It's just about Yugoslavia. You can make anything about Yugoslavia, maybe you make a racing mission in Yugoslavia town, or you make a Serbian trying to spy on Yugoslavia's main base, or you just make a simple drive-by.

 

I guess you're not limited to only the history if you make the theme Yugoslavia. The same as my theme before, Wang Cars, you're not limited to make someone buy a car in Wang Cars. Huzaifa made a very good mission of several gangs trying to steal cars, Rithrake made also a very good mission about someone trying to blow up Wang Cars. The same as Yugoslavia.

 

You just need creativity, what can you make with the theme Yugoslavia. Yes, themes like Stealth or Assassination is good, but it's limited to only a plot of Stealth, or Assassination. This theme, instead, is only limited about Yugoslavia, once a large country in Europe. You can make anything you want, but still related to Yugoslavia. It's an easy theme and if you have time you should join. At least, you play the missions and vote for the win.
