If you are playing GTA IV CE on RGL be sure to use this command line paramter, otherwise launcher starts redownloading files

-skippatchercheck

like this

It doesn't work either.

Does this only work for GTA IV: CE? Otherwise, this would be super useful for the extra pre-order bonus GTAs I got just for cloud saves.

Still, surprised you made the new downgrader after all. Let's hope Rockstar speeds up just a little this time and releases a proper solution for the radios this decade.

it works on all rgl titles.

however if exe of game lacks drm, rgl refuses to launch it.

also werent the pre order bonuses in form of save files?

Indeed, 1.0 VC cannot be launched sadly.

I'm referring to the RDR2 RGL pre-order bonus. I got the GTAs in order to use Rockstar's cloud saving, but without being able to use 1.0 game versions, they're sort of pointless to have.

This became a little off-topic but I feel like the conclusion is here, downgrading isn't an option for, well, cloud saving.

So, GTA IV downgrader only works with steam version right now. Tested it on both. RGL version redownloads files even with -skippatchercheck command. Maybe it's problem on my side idk. Even tried reinstall the launcher.

I'm talking about the steam version.  Since it now launches RGL with the steam version, it's giving me the verify files message because it noticed a change and won't let me start it up.  Hopefully that small update today didn't mess things up too bad.  I can't tell what it did just yet.

@southparkmayor already fixed and in the downgrader. I don't think they intentionally removed it but instead just broke it or something.

oh i've been browsing the forums and had no idea there was a new downgrader. I feel a little out of the loop. I've tried that slightly old IV downgrader with the new ZIT patch and got IV to work, but the EFLC one caused the game to crash if i changed or played radio. do you have a link please? thanks.

GTA IV Complete Edition Radio Downgrader (RGL/Steam)

1) Download

2) extract to GTA directory

3) run install.bat and wait untill window disappears

4) (if you use steam version skip this step) Set command line parameter in RGL for GTA IV CE:

-skippatchercheck

like on this pic

  Reveal hidden contents

unknown.png?width=962&height=516

5) Launch via RGL/Steam

Oh i didnt see that. as for the missing radio stations (ramjam vice city FM, etc) once i install the IVCE radio downgrader, do i simply copy and replace the unified lore files into the GTA IVCE install folder? it seems rather lightweight for 3 radio stations. I have the .rpfs from an "alternative backup" i could use that?

ok all three stations and ZIT is working in TBOGT. thanks for your downgrader.

I just want to make one thing clear, once Rockstar update the game and add those stations back into the game you plan on making a fully working downgrader for the GTA IV Complete Edition?

My gta sa is installed in my D drive while the launcher is in my program files. Will this cause any issues with the downgrader ? Oh btw, I know this is a dumb question, but I will be able to mod gta sa if I downgrade ? I heard people saying gta sa RGL version is unmoddable, which is kind of strange, I mean most versions are not moddable without being downgraded. Just asking just to make sure that RGL version isn't "quirkier" than the rest. I've been trying to downgrade this cursed version for a while... 😕

No.

Of course, that is literally what downgrading is for! The people that say the RGL version is "unmoddable" are correct, as the un-downgraded version is a pile of garbage compared to 1.0 with silentpatch and skygfx.

I use windows 10 64-bit and have SA installed via the RGL.

The folder in program files has all rights.

When I run the .bat there are some messages about files not existing. The folder audio/streams is a lot emptier after this proces (haven't checked other folders).

If I open the new .exe, it shows in task manager but nothing else happens.

Any idea what's going wrong?

Edit: After deinstalling everything and reinstalling outside program files I appear to have it working.

found tools to also edit japanese gxt

however noticed the eflc only radios doesnt work with zit, idk anymore.

edit: hotfix was updated with Japanese support and fixed support for ZiT for EFLC only radio stations

hopefully this was indeed last hotfix before rockstar drops new update with EFLC only stations

Hello, i am playing TLAD & TBoGT, i was wondering if i could somehow use this to restore just songs only from EFLC & not the songs from GTA IV. Every time i use this it ads all the songs from GTA IV to the radio stations in TLAD & TBoGT

None of the III-SA downgraders work at all. At all. I tried multiple times, nope it just breaks the game and makes it literally impossible to enter lmao

Is GTA SA downgrading dead?

Like seriously both versions of the downgrader just straight up don't work. All it does is make a new exe and the other one just has disabled menu mouse support.

As for rest of problems. Give description/pic of problem, or i won't try to help you, since you can't give most basic info

remove gta_sa.exe and rename gta-sa.exe to gta_sa.exe for SAMP to work

Hello! First off, thanks for making the radio downgrader, Sam. Appreciate it very much!
I have the same problem as other RGL users that files are downloaded even when using -skippatchercheck. I also made sure to uncheck "enable automatic updates" (isn't this just the same as -skippatchercheck??)

Installing the downgrader works without problems and the game starts and plays just fine. Files are only downloaded after RGL has been closed and reopened.
