Guest
This scene from Pursuit of Happiness where he has to pretend to his son that they've time travelled and need to sleep in a subway bathroom for 'safety'. It's heartbreaking. Ā Ā
Killer Whale
Someone here already mentioned that scene from Inside Out with Bing Bong. That was one, but there's another scene on that movie and it's when Riley returns home. Ā Ā I had to bury myself into my seat so my brother couldn't see me crying twice in less than 30 minutes. Ā Another scene that made me tear up of joy was Inception when Cobb returns with Saito, both waking up accomplishing the mission. Ā Ā Ā There still was the uncertainty where one didn't know what was going to happen. It was such a joy when everything was revealing slowly. Plus that open ending, but that's another topic. Excellent movie. Ā Ā Ā Ā

TwistOfLime21
Two scenes in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood got me a bit watery eyed. It was the Sharon Tate story so we knew how it ended but it didnāt really hit home until she showed Joanna the nursery during the āOut Of Timeā montage. Also, when she meets Rick at the end alive and well.

Laura91
The part in "Wakko's Wish" where Dot Warner "dies". The only time that I ever had tears in my eyes when watching a cartoon. Ā "No Child Of Mine". A British 1997 made for TV movie. I grew up on Horror/Gore/Exploitation films. But, this film f*cked me up so much more than anything in those genres. There were so many scenes where I was in such a state of disbelief while watching this. By the end, I was a sobbing mess. It's a really f*cked up movie. Thankfully, I never had to go through anything that this girl went through. But, damn...it was still a difficult one to watch. Big Molio
The "Brooks Hatlen" scene mentioned in the OP is an incredible bit of filmmaking. James Whitmore really was outstanding in it. Ā The only film scenesĀ that are liable to cause a lump in my throat that I can think of offhand are: Ā The Champ (1979) - the end when T.J. yells atĀ his father the champ to wake up as he lies dead in the dressing room The Road (2009) - the end when "the boy" has to say goodbye to his dead father. Schindler's List (1993) - two scenes. The scene when they load the kids onto the train, and all the frantic mothers are chasing it hysterically, and the end scene when the actors are joined by the real-life holocaust survivors.
