I need help with the "Stoppie" in Grand Theft Auto: SA bike school

I'm at roughly 90% in the game to completing it. And I am trying to do the wheelie in Bike school. I while trying to play this on the PS4 can't seem to be able to do it. I hold down x, hold the left along stick forward and as I'm approaching the cones hold down on Square but the bike just stops??? Or it does a wheelie, then falls on top of itself. Please try to help me go through the actual procedure of how this is done.

Yes a very annoying lesson, but try practicing it outside the school.  Unlike the wheelie you only need to quick tap the brake rather than hold it.  For whatever reason the motorcycle controls are aggravating in the extreme, think how to get maximum speed you need to lean forward but not too far forward.  Regardless you will find too many occasions of the bike falling over to the left or right once you achieve a stoppie.

For the school lesson you need to first get the bike to a decent speed or you will never make it to the cones, a good trick is as you are accelerating the bike to push forward to get CJ to stand up.  When you get to the designated cones quick tap the brake and push forward.  If you are wobbling you can try to fight it, but most likely it will be a fail or an insufficient score.  While in the Stoppie you need to be almost perfect in pushing the stick forward.  At the finish pull back and hit the brakes (both of them).   Both brakes is also useful for the previous lesson the Jump and Stop.  Lastly, not to be discouraging the lesson after the Stoppie is evenmore annoying Jump and Stoppie.

Excuse the late reply, I actually did end up completing it eventually after so many times and after immediately saving even went back and tried it again and got it to 87% while before I got it to 88%. I genuinely think that this is by far one of if not infact the hardest thing I had an experience with in this game. A three-way-tie between the Ammu-nation shooting range, this and the Vigilante mission on either bike or car. And I didn't find the Jump and Stoppie nearly as hard.

Oddly enough I was doing the bike school just last night, and I thought of this thread whilst attempting the stoppie lesson. I'll agree that is hard, or at least I find it difficult initially. What I find helps is that as soon as the stoppie begins, I release ▢ and hold X whilst keeping my thumb on the steering joystick. I keep things as steady as possible, and hope the speed I've picked up carries me through. Honestly, it takes me about five or six tries each time. It's such a finnicky trick that has no real practical use in play. What's annoying is if your tyre is even a smidge into the cone zone, the lesson will end and you'll be robbed of all your momentum. It's better to start earlier than you think you have to.

I have no idea about PS4 but in PC you just need to release break and keep the UP arrow pressed .. When you reach to your stopzone just release UP and hit the break..
