Also, what is the fastest horse, saddle, stirrup combo?

All horses are the same speed and temperament online.

That's what my tests have shown and I've yet to see anyone saying otherwise properly test this ONLINE

I would defo agree pre update but i feel as though there is some speed alterations in play now, Mainly between the obvious like a Low level work horse compared to a race type horse, I cant yet confirmed this but will do some more in depth test soon, All other matters dont appear to have change.

This speed thing could also be brought on by how the horse animations looks at full gallop some look cumbersome and legs dont move as fast as others but again proper tests will solve it

Nice I look forward to see them. It was a while ago I did those tests, so I can only hope that you're right that they've fixed it.. I've been begging to be proved wrong since forever but noone managed to post any proof here besides their own beliefs.

I remember before I did the tests, I could've sworn there was a big difference, but after the tests I concluded that the gallop animations looks slower for larger horses even though they move at the same speeds as the smaller breeds.

I don’t think all are the same. I’ve had a maxed out Shire since the first week of RDO, and I get outrun all the time and have been since day 1 (and that’s WITH the Alligator Saddle that everyone got). A Shire may not be fast, but it’s the best looking horse by a country mile (and I so wish I could get the raven black one from SP - Imagine that horse with the black/red/gold saddle and a character decked out in the red vest from the Grizzlies Outlaw outfit, the black/red stripe Kennedy hat, the black long leather jacket that’s red inside, black Bandito pants, the black/red gun belt and off hand holster, black/red boots.... that’s the look I’m after. Oh and the BH camp theme and a black dog in there).

I've tested the white shire against MFT. Both with best stirrups, (which btw, on paper, gives more speed than the alligator saddle).

But please prove it with a video. Obviously both horses should have maxed cores, bonding, stirrups/"speed".

I would make a video, but none of my friends play RDO anymore. I did post a video of me winning a race on a morgan though... well almost won, got shot right before the finish line.

I went a little overboard with buying and fully bonding two top tier Criollo's. A marble coat named Ghost, and an Overo named Calamity. That way I can keep one stabled, and swap them when one was in use too long and it's temperment gets bad.

Have the speeds been addressed ? I get the feeling they have but not done any testing to confirm, or is it just how the animation portrays it

How confident are you on the temperament thing? I only ask because my MFT was surrounded by wolves last night, and even trampled one of them twice without bucking me. Is that how all horses are? My Arabian was never like that, even at max bonding level.

My Trotter has killed a wolf some months ago and a grizzly bear by kicking it in the head with its back legs, I do feel this horse does have a better temperament than any other

That's a hard question. But tbh not as confident as with the speed since it is alot harder to test.

I am 100% certain that the horses I tested, was able to reach the same distance, at the same time, to the gator/snake.

However, I didn't test things like gunshots and fires.

Other things, like how quickly you calm the horse or if there's thunder, gunshots etc, are at play too.

I've been in the middle of a wolf pack on my arabian without any problems, but also been bucked off by my hungarian halfbred by a snake 5 meters away.

Pre this update speeds were all the same regardless of specs iwe did many many tests with all types of horse and found the only difference was handling at speed was better on Arabians in tight corners they didn't scrub off any speed when doing twisty stuff as did the others

Like ive said since update R* have played with these specs whether its how the animations are perceived or whether they have actually addressed the speeds im not sure. It needs testing properly but i dont have access to all type at moment

But it does feel different

I can only offer my personal anecdotal evidence, but where pre-update it definitely felt like every horse was more or less moving the same speed, after the update my fully bonded MFT with top speed stirrups has been regularly overtaking possemates on other horses. I'm not exactly blowing by them with total ease but over a long ride along the same trail I almost always end up in front, even when they get a bit of headstart.

Temperament was never the same for all horses IMO, at least in launch month, I went from a Red Arabian to a Hungarian Half-Bred in the first few weeks of the game and the difference was massive and immediately noticeable. My Turkoman has always been solid and reliable around danger as well however since the update I've definitely started noticing him freaking out a bit more than I remember him doing around predators. He goes nutty in the swamp at times and I've had moments where I can't pass through a river cause he gets too close to a gator.

Real tempted to pick up one of the Trader horses but I prefer dark coats to live so I'm kinda put off.

Done a bit of speed testing tonight with a buddy and so far it appears there is no difference with Fox trotter, Nakata (gold only one) Turkoman (gold only one) white and black Arabians they are all still equal in top speed ingame all tested with the Nackoches saddle

Is the Nacogdoches saddle the best one? I've seen it mentioned here many times and I wonder why.

Fully agreed .... it's war horse level temperament but fast and full of stamina . My turkoman is a pansy compared to it ...   I'd actually live to sell the turd .  I mean turkoman

It's basically an unlimited well of stamina if you use your horse pats judiciously. Breed or coat doesn't matter. Base amount of stamina doesn't matter. Just remember to press on your left stick regularly and you will never run out of stamina. I have literally sprinted horses from Annesburg, south through St Denis, north to Strawberry and still had a full stamina meter.

Plus it allegedly makes your horse a tad faster. I can't verify that, but they do feel faster. Could be the aforementioned limitless stamina though. You can pound sprint with impunity.

I don't think the horses are all the same speed. I've been chased down multiple times while riding my Adrennes, and I've pulled all the way away from other horses on my Turkoman...

That said, does anyone know the types of the new horses. As best as I can tell, the Klaudruber (sp?) is a War Horse, but I'm unsure of the other two...

I’ve been riding around on a top tier Kladruber for about a week now. I’m impressed with it. Great temperament, very relaxed. All around very pleasant. It comes right up to me when I whistle, doesn’t stop 15 feet away like other horses. Also follows very closely to me when I move. I like that a lot. I was hesitant to even get a Kladruber because of the low speed stat, but I don’t even notice a difference from my MFT. I’m usually riding around with a rifle at the ready, so I’m not going top speed anyway. Riding around is comfortable and this horse is surprisingly nimble for how big it is. Hunting with this horse has been what I expected, very calm and patient, no noise. Great for hunting. What really surprised me though is how brave this horse is in gunfights, just shrugs it off. Not really bothered much. Gets a little louder and a bit agitated, but a few quick “calms” from me and no problem.

I can’t say my Kladruber is markedly better than my MFT, but it’s certainly on par with it. I wanted to try something new and different and have an alternative to always using the same horse, and I’m not disappointed.

I’m also going to get a Criollo and Breton when I get those top tier ones unlocked. Hopefully they are as good as the Kladruber.

So glad they introduced new horses with this update 😀
