ALifeOfMisery Posted September 20, 2019 Share Posted September 20, 2019 (edited) I've unlocked everything I want from the Collector and Trader roles and there's very little I want to unlock from the Bounty Hunter role, so I'm already sitting on a big stash of blue chips, a stash which will only grow as I get through the last 12 Bounty Hunter ranks. I'm just planning to sit on them, I'm not unlocking things I don't want for no reason, in the best case scenario we'll be able to use them to unlock future unlockables, worst case they will be useless, but I'll save what I have just in case. For a while now I haven't seen any point at all having both gold and dollars. Why not just have dollars and let people buy them just as they did in GTAO. So R* has opened up a new revenue source because many folks today have more money to spend on the game they already paid for. Micro transactions are the new things.. If you get 10 million people to think nothing of giving you a dime you have 1 million dollars. Multiply that by any number you like... As for the 3rd option, blue chips. it makes sense to me to allow us the freedom to unlock our role development however we want instead of being strictly tied to role rank. I currently am ranking up in bounty hunter and earning blue chips in that I can spend to unlock my trader and collector items that I want. Yeah, make a third currency I have to use just so I can unlock the ABILITY to PURCHASE a frickin' shovel for $350. Rockstar has lost their damn minds... Only instead of 'skillpoint' it is a blue token. In my opinion it works just fine. You'll find though that to unlock the higher tier Trader & Collector items - You'll still need to rank up in order to use those blue chips and unlock your items. What makes them even more useless is that we seem to be able to earn more blue chips than we need to unlock everything. What would have given them some worth would be earning less than the amount required to unlock all items, making players pick and choose.
