Got any weird habits?

Recommended Posts

JON22

I always check the fridge and freezer door.

When turning off a light I sometimes turn it back on then off until I'm satisfied it clicked off right.

Always washing my hands, especially when entering my block of flats because other people's hands have touched the door handle.

I always have coffee, tea, tea then coffee Monday to Friday during the week. It annoys me if I change the order.

Always picking at some skin on my nose.

I always wipe my hand on my pants after pressing the button to cross the road.

I lick my plate but my excuse for that is don't waste food.

I used to hang a sock on my right big toe nail by its thread and swing it about until it fell off.

@Billy Russo just noticed you're mostly like me, apart from the hoovering and cleaning as I work as a cleaner so I just clean bits every now and then when I can be bothered.

Evil empire

I frequently gently grab my dog's maw in one hand and give him friendly taps on his pendulous lower lips until he slowly opens it watching me full of kindness. When he doesn't open his maw I tickle his hairs under the nose and he always opens the maw.

I have this one too.  Mine might be due to old ass house issues.

Adding:

I'm slightly OCD with my keys.  When I leave my house or car I can't shut the door until I visually confirm I have my keys in my hand like 4 or 5 times.

I do this too every time I walk by the fridge even if I’m not getting into them I’ll press on the doors to make sure they’re closed and if I’m still not sure I’ll run my finger along the seal to make sure I don’t feel any cold air escaping

it started after my eldest got something out of the freezer and something shifted that prevented the door from getting a tight seal

wdll since we didn’t get into the freeze for a few days so by time I did realize it about $300 worth of meat and a bunch of other frozen snacks and stuff had defrosted

i had to throw away all but a few packages of meat that was underneath the rest of the stuff and still in the beginning stages of defrosting

We had roast four days that week

Menstrual Deranged

I keep hydrogen peroxide or chlorine wipes in my purse to clean the grocery cart off with because the wipes the stores provide aren't "medical" enough for me.

I keep latex gloves in my car to wear when I pump gas.

Lots of hand-washing. Come fall/winter, my hands usually crack and bleed from the frequent hand-washing and cold air.

My weirdest habit, though, that I've had since before I can recall is earlobe rubbing. My own earlobe, and the lobes of those closest to me in life. I just like the texture of them. Yeah, it's very weird. Don't laugh.

When I like a song I'll replay it and replay it over and over again until I get sick of it, then I do it with the next song I find. I find comfort in familiarity and a routine, and if I find a song that feels good I'll just stick with that and not listen to anything else for a few days.

-Whenever I pay for something with cash I always pay so I have to receive change. Even if it's an extra few cents. I seriously don't like just giving the correct amount and walking away lol.

Seconded. In fact, I’m always somewhat in fear that I don’t have the correct amount of change when it comes to that. Man, as if the two of us needed another thing in common, lol.

Anyways, here’s some others:

-Whenever I cross the street, I always look both ways the entire time.

-I tend to talk quite a bit to people at Walmart, McDonalds, school (back when I went to school), and church. In the case of Walmart and McDonalds, it’s usually the employees while at church, it’s usually the people who greet you or who I sit down with. In the case of school when I was a student, it was usually a select few teachers because most of the students I went to school with were kinda jerks.

-Back when I was younger, I used to always watch GTA gameplay videos on YouTube in another room when my parents weren’t looking and when they’d find me, I’d quickly turn it off. Lmao.

I like how vocal fry sounds and feels in my throat, sometimes I'll start making random sounds with it. There's just something really satisfying about it.

Did you ever heard of the Ferengi from Star Trek? I admit, touching this body part is very relaxing somehow. I wouldn't really call it weird. It is so smooth. Almost like.... use your imagination. :)

When I'm in a shop I always have to buy something, even if it's small and they don't have what I originally went in for. I hate leaving empty handed because anxiety reasons.

I have ridiculous OCD and I have to do certain things the same way, every single day. The order in which I get dressed, the order in which I grab my stuff before heading out to work, etc. It's sad.

I'll sometimes put on my oldies playlist in the hopes that it'll give me a dream that's set in the 50's or 60's. Those are always good dreams because I always have a nice big car and the the music is good. Not to mention it's a lot more interesting than dreaming about getting a top floor hotel suite that costs $880 a night and getting it for $120. Yeah that's happened.

I document most aspects of my day. I have a calorie tracker which lets me input my meals and water intake, and is able to document my steps and activity. I have a little notebook that I like to use through-out the day, logging the temperature, weather conditions, bowel movements, interactions, and anything I've learned. I don't obsess over it particularly, but I get a good sense of satisfaction from it.

I've got a really bad habit of sitting with my knee up when I'm on the PC. I'm trying to get out of it and improve my posture in general, as I sit in some really weird positions to try to get comfortable. Just need to get used to sitting up straight on my chair.

As I'm posting this, I literally have my knee up. I do it without realizing. Sometimes I forget and it hurts like hell when I try to stand. Really need to cut out of it.

Checking this site everyday and scanning through it as if it's a Newspaper.

Would rather read posts on here than the absolute sh*te going on in the news though, tbh.
