About your crashing issue I have nothing to say since you haven't provided any useful information besides of "doesn't work". The final update was properly tested on patch 1.0.4.0, 1.0.7.0 and EFLC using 1.0.7.0 and everything is working how it should. I can only suggest to read the readme file carefully if you can't get the final update to work. Especially the FAQ/Troubleshooting section. I've included every information you need to successful downgrade and mod your game so the rest depends on your end. I know modding IV can be quiet tricky sometimes nicely said.
