MTU Glitch

Does anyone know if the MTU glitch that works in GTA Online also works to get a solo session in RDR Online?

If not, is there a way?

Doesn't work.

Tried it with several numbers between 650 and 1500, but anything under a 1000 or so just doesn't get you online.

I've been keeping an eye out for things like this myself, but so far, no dice.

Not to mention the addition of that troublesome feature where the game now combines sessions into one another if one reaches a low player population. Could be in a session with like 4 players one moment then suddenly be in one with 20 or more the next. Even if you did find a way to isolate yourself, the game will most likely begin working in the background to put you right back into a public session.

Rockstar most certainly made a note of players making solo sessions in Gta Online and implemented countermeasures for Red Dead Online.

At least they're trying to capitulate to players who dislike PvP with features such as defensive, cause they know we would drop the game like a bad habit otherwise.

A friend and I had a session to ourselves from Thursday until update time on Tuesday Morning. Not sure how we did it (players just dropped off and no one ever joined), but it was so very peaceful, lol. We were able to set up camp right next to the sleeping cougar spawn under the windmill outside Blackwater, and run 6 at a time in a wagon to the butcher. We were able to leave the session/game and join back on each other, but no one else ever joined. Wish it was an option.

The same happened to me and my best friend a few days ago.

I always start in Lemoyne; fast travel to new Austin before inviting him. Spent hours doing plenty of stranger missions and sturgeon fishing.

I eventually checked the player list and realised why animals and dynamic missions were so frequent; we somehow managed to get an empty session, and my word, it was PERFECT.

For me it always seems to switch over whenever there is about ten players or so no matter how far I travel. I used to do that but it doesn't seem to work anymore, plus I am too cheap to spend money on fast travel.

Leftover Pizza

Before the update dropped I got into solo sessions several times. Players simply dropped out and none returned. To be honest, apart from the game running smoother, I noticed no difference in game play, because I hardly see other players at all anyway, even with a list of 20+ players.

I have to admit that the methods Rockstar has implemented do make it feel reasonably quiet. It's not until you bumble onto a main route that you see people.

Before the update I was almost always ending up in a "solo" session after doing a Stranger Mission. The only time I'd see other players not on my friends list was when ever I'd turn the game back on. The game never put me back into a populated session. That being said, I haven't been running Stranger Missions post update due to focusing on the new roles to see if it would spit me again.

Most players you see aren't even bothering others. They just pass by, doing their own thing.

I've had only 1 player feeling the need to harass me while I was idle for a few yesterday. Low level schmuck, of course. Didn't take long for him to leave, after shooting him dead twice.

I got attacked for the first time in defensive immediately after logging on yesterday. I was going through some menus when I started getting attacked, thanks to the buff in damage reduction I managed to get out of the menus and completely wrecked the three players in the posse who started it, multiple times. They eventually gave up and left me be without killing me once. Goes to show that attacking someone in defensive is not a great idea, cause even when outnumbered they got a very strong advantage against you and can hold their own if they're at least decent at free aim. They were like a 174 and two 60+ in rank.

Question - does explosive ammo still one shot you if you're in defensive mode?

I've taken to being in defensive every chance I get, but got killed in one hit earlier. Could've been lag or whatever, dunno, but if it was explosive ammo then it just proves how much of a stupid idea it was adding it into the game.

I only been attacked once thus far while in defensive after the latest update. Since then no one has ever tried explosive rounds or dynamite to kill me.
