I have a strong suspicion that this will be Rockstars new quirk with RDR, they'll just slowly tell the story backwards. Hence why they keep leaving out info in the story and make things ambiguous. There was a lot of hype around the Blackwater events before RDR2 and during RDR2, but it was constantly avoided, not because of DLC but because of RDR3. You can't deny it. Most likely. Although I'd prefer to view it like Star Wars legends. A lot of people complained that Disney wiped the canon. But they never really did. They just started fresh, and slowly reorganized it, and brought back what people liked. Albeit slightly different. thrawn is the perfect example of that. With RDR, I think Revolver would be in universe campfire legends. And maybe in the future, they may well flesh some of them out within the 'new' canon. Completely cut it, or remain faithful. jje1000 Posted September 13, 2019 Share Posted September 13, 2019 Nah it'll never be a DLC because Rockstar will use the Blackwater heist as their RDO ace card a few years down the line to inject some more life into the game if it slows down too much. I disagree with the notion that the next Red Dead title will be related to Dutch, his gang, or any character from the same universe. it's obvious that the story of Arthur, the fallout of the gang and the death of Dutch have put an end to the story that R* started in 2010. The reason why The Blackwater Massacre wasn't included was because of character reasons. Dutch killed some innocent young woman during the massacre. If Arthur saw this, then he would leave Dutch immediately. If we, the player, saw Dutch kill this woman, then we would already distrust Dutch from the beginning. That, and they didn't want to rip off Grand Theft Auto 5's intro. And how would a prequel like that even work? Do we just play the exact same map? Because Dutch clearly stated that West Elizabeth is the furthest east that the gang has ever been. How about this. What if Red Dead 4 could be a completely new story with some connective tissue to the other three Red Dead's? That would be much better than a predictable prequel. Leave the two redemption games alone as a saga, the theme of "redemption" has run its course. It would be better to come up with new material for the series. I don’t see how they could really do anything with what happened prior to rdr2. It’s gotta be new. Im doubting sp dlc. The Sadie or Charles stuff is plausible. A young Arthur, Dutch, & Hosea dlc story that’s humorous and on the lighter side would be fun! We still do not know where John was coming from and doing when he got off the boat at Blackwater with agent Ross! That’s the mystery!!
