So, has anyone done much Collector since the update?

 

I've been trying to pick up some pieces for exp today and it's definitely noticeable. The introduction of 100% RNG into what is where is fine but they also (I heard) doubled the amount of collectible spawns and that has had a big impact. Stuff seems WAY more spread out.

I've done a bit, what I have noticed is that cards, alcohol and flowers are all still where I'd expect them to be. So it's way less profitable, but still farmable to a degree.

I actually had a look at the map to see if I was being dumb and, apparently, it seems like I am. The spread seems no different than before but it feels... different? I sorta feel like the range you get the vibrations/jingle has been reduced a lot, but I dunno if I'm just being dumb.

 

The money seems like it'll be what it was before the spots were mapped, which is still great money and the best in the game, but it's not as spikey as it was before as you won't be able to reliably complete sets, which seems fine with me tbh.

Don't waste money on jewelry maps from Nazar. Many times I get nothing from them. I'm looking for those 2 things specifically. I've maxed out most of the others but the maps still give me 3 locations and nothing in any of them. Seems to me maps you pay for should give you locations of things you can actually get. For example, If you are maxed out on heirlooms, you should not be able to buy an heirloom map. If you need only 2 heirlooms, only the 2 locations that have those heirlooms should appear on the map. I'm not going to keep spending money for nothing.

I've still been collecting. The cycles seem to be the same as they were but some of the sets have random locations within them. So for example you can still find coins and arrowheads in the same places as before but the particular coin or arrowheads you get will be random. And not all items are there every day. The quarts arrowhead was not on the map at all on Saturday or Sunday making it impossible to complete sets. It was the same for fossils and it was not possible to complete a full set. Even using Nazar's maps you can't find the locations of the missing items. A lot of the jewellery also seems to be missing and Nazar's maps won't reveal the missing items either. I'm not sure what Rockstar's plan is for the collector's role but by semi-nerfing the online collectors map they have also hit the players who do it the old fashioned way and spend money on maps. If they change cards, bottles, flowers and eggs in a future update to work the same then they will have killed off the collector's role. That's unless they make it possible to complete sets again.

The new role seems to be specifically for slowing down players' ability to make money. Gus' clothes are horribly overpriced, as is everything you get from Harriet, & both he & Harriet pay diddly squat compared to what you make with Cripps. This role is a money draining scam.

I know this is too late now, but if it’s not on a table, in a wardrobe, inside a chimney, inside a lockbox without digging, then it’s impossible to know where it is as all Jewelry digging spots will only give you a random piece of Jewelry from all four Jewelry categories.

On Monday when you asked it’s wasn’t in a static location so you wouldn’t have found it directly, only if you got it from any of the randomised Jewelry digging spots 

Although you have probably found one by now, today it’s inside a cabinet at the shack south west of Lake Don Julio near Rio Del Lobo Rock!

Eggs are now lootable from Enemy NPCs which should have been working from day one of the Frontier Pursuits update, seems they took a year to fix it!

Just south of Lagras across the road from the building up a tree next to the water (loads of gators there) or was prior to latest patch

Be sure to check some of the broken wagons with broken off wheels when you pass them, there is a lockbox nearby with an Alcohol Bottle inside. Sometimes there is a drunk NPC near by that asks you to look after the wagon!

 

I encountered the drunk version outside of Rhodes a couple days ago and it had an Irish Whisky bottle and the one I just passed near the Big Valley Trapper location had a Gran Corazon Madeira Bottle.

 

So be sure to check them out instead of passing them thinking it’s just scenery Rockstar have added that does nothing.

So I just loaded into a session and I spawned at the farm north of the Heartland Oil Fields.  On the picnic table outside was the Six of Penacles card but there was also a Six if Cups I believe card in the fireplace inside the house next to the picnic table.  It’s not showing as the spawn location on the interactive map, has this happened to anyone else?

Also, an update on the broken down wagons you can find that has a lockbox with a collectible, it’s not just alcohol bottles, just got a Goat Hair Brush, so could be other collectibles not just limited alcohol bottles or heirlooms. 

 

So be sure not to ignore them if you see them at the site of the path when your roaming around, this is the one I just found:

[No Homing]

On my lowest rank acc, I can't collect any fossils, despite being rank 7 and owning the metal detector. Is there something I'm missing? Or is the collector map wrong with today's locations?

 

Okay, nvm, I got it, need to be rank 10 for some reason.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that SHOVEL items that are inside a dug up LOCKBOX appear to be static items, so it will be the same collectible each time.

Something weird happened today.
Over the past 3-4 weeks I've slowly worked on completing collections. My goal is to have 7 of each. My inventory had 1-3 of a few items, and 4-7 of many others.

Today I visited several locations which Jeanropke calls "Random Spots", and several of the random jewelry spots.
Until today, all I was missing for 7 whole bracelet sets were 2x Hajnal Bracelets.
Today I found 4 of them.

I also found several other items which I didn't need (already have 7 of them), but I still found it odd to get "too many" of an item which seems to have eluded me in the past.

Have any of you done "completiion runs" of coins? How successful have those runs been?
How many complete Fossil sets can I expect to get, if I hit 50 spots over the course of several days? So far I've only collected a handful in total, figured the RNG was stacked against getting complete sets. It's a R* game, after all.

3, at least of the 7/7 coastal  

 

Well, 3 sets is what I got (think of that one.)  But I did not hit anywhere near "50 spots."

 

It doesn't seem that hard to get complete sets of those, more so of ones like "megafauna" I think.

 

It also seems like although they did make so many parts of the sets "random" finds now, on the map,

that you seem to get the ones you need more (don't seem as rare, things like missing rings/bracelets etc.)

Maybe they partially fixed that, after they made a lot of them random?
