The Collector General Thread

Where to begin:

 

"Seek out the mysterious travelling saleswoman Madam Nazar to acquire the Collector’s Bag and get started on the path of the Collector."

 

Madam Nazar will change location every day. She does not appear on the minimap unless you are close, have found her today or have a complete set to sell to her. This is intended.

 

For her current location check out the latest posts in this thread.

 

Collectable spawns:

• The same collectable can be picked up by multiple people.
• Collectable spawns reset at 12am GMT.

 

Collector tips:

• The maps Madam Nazar sells are one time use and don't stack so use one at a time, they are also a little glitchy at the moment so be wary.
• The shovel is an essential part of the Collector and should be purchased as soon as possible.
• Disrupted earth digspots will glow with the passive skill upgrade at level 7.
• To collect the eggs from a bird nest shoot the outer rim of the nest with a Varmint rifle.
• Collectables you find can be sold individually in person to Madam Nazar but are worth more if you sell them as a set which can be done in person or via a post office.

 

At level four you will gain access to a free mode event called Scavenge.

• In this event you compete along side other players to gather collectables while fighting off waves of NPC bandits. You only have one life and you cannot be killed by other players.
• The event starts with players looting a marked on the map in yellow but most of the event takes place in the area surrounding the marked zone.
• There are collectables laid out on the route to the marked area, use Eagle Eye to find them.
• White dots will appear on the minimap briefly, these dots will lead you to things like a rival NPC collector or a feud between two bandits over a chest. Looting these will give you 1-4 collectables.
• The general enemies that spawn can also be looted for collectables.
• Collectables found in this event are kept once the event is over.

Did you expect anything else? The tokens are only to unlock the purchase.... It's Rockstar.

Oh, not at all. I knew more gold only purchases were coming in one way or the other.

Madam Nazar's an absolute mental case.

 

Edit: Looted one of the antique alcohol bottles, which you can drink. It gives gold stamina and deadeye circles lvl 1 and gold cores lvl 4. Not sure if drinking it means you can't turn it in... too scared to try.

Right so I found me a bird egg. Going to go trade it in. I think I’m going to enjoy this role the most. Also bought a shovel.

Same story here. Wasn't free even though it should have been and Madam Nazar has now disappeared from my map after collecting the 3 tarot cards.

I'm currently going to where she should be right now so I'll let you know if it's just a map issue or if she's actually vanished.

Also, anyone figured out how collectables work? I can sell the ones I have to Madam Nazar but I'm not sure if selling the complete set will make more money?

thats not the satchel thats a satchel upgrade

Since my free collector didn't register I passed for the moment. But now I can't even see the icon on the map. Is there a solution to this?

There isn't a satchel section in the wardrobe so I'm not sure there are any? I was only aware of the satchel upgrades my self.

Could be part of a outfit, there's a few of those. I'm not seeing any satchel section in the wardrobe even though I'm seeing sections for glasses and other things I've not unlocked/bought. So they might be locked to specific outfits.

Some role outfits have satchels but they are fixed to the specific piece of clothing

Just rolled past a fatally wounded wolf on the side of the road, saw a brief white blip for it as well. Mercy killed it and picked up an arrowhead from it's body.

 

So, collectables can come from dynamic events.

All of the 'outfits' are mostly non-customizable from what I've bought so far. They're split into top, and bottom. You get the hat to use anyway you want though.

 

Man though, anyone have any luck finding arrowheads? I've been looking in this gold spot for awhile, and I figure I have to dig it up but I can't find a thing. It says to look in trees and crevices in the tooltip, but I've checked every tree and theres not much in the area (it's south of MacFarlanes near the cliffs).

 

edit: I loaded into a new lobby and found it fairly quickly as a big dirt pile under a tree. Must've either been a weird spawn, or a glitch

I just stroll round till I get the sound queues and vibration queues, never had to spend long to find one. I've also like I said above found one through a dynamic event.

try changing sessions, i did that and it said i had collected it

Yeah I just edited my post. Loading into a new lobby and I immediately found it, probably a spawning glitch.

 

Note that this was part of a map I opened, Jason. With the gold area like a treasure map, so I was locked to finding it there.

Got stuck in the little spooky shed at Emerald Ranch, the one with the mannequin at the window. Door opened fine when I arrived, but I couldn't get out. I was looking for the tarot card there, but there is none  

Had to relog the game to get out again.
