Oh, and being a Trader can be profitable as a Posse. When I ran sales with a friend last night, the Posse Member was making a little over 50% of the sale. (If I remember correctly it was Posse Leader = $62.50, Posse Member = $32.50) Meanwhile you can supply Cripps with materials while doing Bounty Hunting. One player in the posse goes after the Bounty, ideally the Posse Leader, while the other player hunts and donates materials to Cripps. The player hunting still gets the GB/$/RXP/XP for completing the Bounty, even if they were in a different region the entire time. The "hunter" can then notify the Posse Leader when Cripps is ready to sell again.

Thats pretty cool. It always annoyed me in GTAO where the entire group was locked to one certain job. Like you could not trigger a Bunker Resupply and an I/E at the same time and have different people in your Organisation do what they want.

Edit - Sorry forgot to say thanks for the breakdown.

Confirm and add to opening post?

The wagon and satchel upgrade will be great for regular hunting to the town butchers, if I can carry twenty big game meats, I can spend my days killing alligators in lemoyne making huge money

Also If im donating my stuff to another posse members camp, do I earn role xp?

You get 5 trader xp for each item donated, just donate loads of feathers to rank up quicker.

That's what I've been doing. I'm trying to rank up trader asap to get the hunting wagon. That's my main goal at the moment.

I had read somewhere that the Outlaw Pass gives an extra 25% RP boost. Is that true, and if so does it apply to Role XP as well?

Edit: I found the answer to my question in another thread. I know, I know, I should search first. @Jason would it be handy to sticky the Outlaw pass in this section given that it's part of the Frontier Update? There's alot of information in it.

I do wish we could drop money into a Box at Camp that allows Cripps to automatically buy Materials and Supplies.

The profit from CCC also needs to be doubled. Roll on "x2 Trader Role Payout" weeks

Rank 4 - SPOILER

The second letter is about offering protection of train routes in exchange for supplies.

Guys, just a heads up.

There is unintentional false information by credible sources but the Trader is more valuable than most people think.

Selling more wares actually increses the price of each single ware. Let's take the local sales (minimum of money you can make). So selling 25 wares locally makes you 62.50$. That's 2.5$ each ware.

So the assumption in the community was, that selling 100 wares gives you 250$.

Wrong!

Right now I'm at 80 wares (so not even 100!) and I can already make 320$ selling locally (more than 250$!). If I make a distant sale I can actually make 400$ with 80 wares.

That's 4$ per ware locally and 5$ per ware for a distant sale. Not 2.5$!

When I reach 100 wares it will be even more (obviously you need large wagon for this).

But how does it translate? You need 2 materials to make 1 ware. And in many cases the materials an animal gives you matches the standard butcher selling price.

So a perfect deer gives you 7 materials (just like selling it for 7$ at the butcher).

With that deer you can create 3.5 wares. The wares are minimum 2.5$ each. So 3.5 wares x 2.5$ is 8.75$. So you basically can make 8.75$ from a deer as a trader instead of just 7$ at the butcher. But that's only the minimum!

If you have 80 wares, like I said before, each ware is 4$, and not 2.5$ anymore. So now we need to calculate it differently: 3.5 wares (from the deer) x 4$ = 14$. So at 80 wares a perfect deer is now worth double the amount in comparison to the butcher sales, 14$! (Like I said you need the bigger wagons to sell more wares at the same time to increase profit). If you take the distant sale at 80 wares you make 5$ per ware like I said, this would translate to a deer indirectly being worth 17.5$, and not the 7$ at the butcher or the standard 8.75$ minimum for a local sale of 25 wares.

But it gets even better when you have the large wagon and can sell 100 wares at the same time! The amount of money you get out of each carcass and pelt is more than doubled, maybe even tripled, than simply selling to the butcher.

EDIT: You are most efficient and make the most profit when spending perfect animal pelts and carcasses as materials. Feathers, horns or some of the other stuff you should sell at the butcher (they are only good for Role XP), because the amount of materials they give you is almost insignificant.

Share this, I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Great to hear man! I already wondered how it is supposed to be more profitable than normal hunting, considering the time it takes. But i'm still stuck to the 25 delivery. So it's definitely worth to rank up that role.

Okay guys I can finally confirm now that selling 100 wares far away (4 barrels in the large delivery wagon) nets you 625$!

That is 6.25$ per ware, not 2.5$.

A perfect deer is then indirectly worth 21.88$, not 8.75$ (or 7$ if we take the butcher price).

EDIT: For ranking the role up I recommend to do supply missions and spend materials until you have 100 wares! You want to have as little sell missions as possible until you have the larger wagons, this way you make more out of your work. And unlock the wagons as fast as you can, because you not only make more money, but also more XP with larger wagons.

So, I've grinded my way to trader rank 5 and got that sweet weapons locker (which was all I wanted really). The trader tent looks pretty cool too!

Fastest way to level up right now is killing all the birds you can find. As each animal part you donate gives 5 TXP (Trader XP), 10 feathers give you 50 TXP.

Always do the supply missions for 500 TXP. Local delivery is 200 TXP. Distant delivery gives 250 TXP, which just isn't worth the trouble...

Just park your camp in the heartlands; geese, ducks, ravens, pheasants... and don't forget those little sparrows, waxwings and sparrows to break down.
I basically stay close to camp and donate everything after I have 10 flight feathers. Then break down the little birds for extra.

Also plenty of deer and rabbits around to sell as whole carcasses keeping those materials up.

I was hoping to see the style of the trader covered tent. - Question: Can you still walk around inside of it, or a place to sit like the standard theme covered tent?

You can still walk around in it but you can't sit inside the tent, it's filled up with all kinds of stuff. But you can sit outside in a big chair.

So how does the raid stuff work? If I'm on the other side of the map am I gonna get calls to come save the camp? Or does it only get raided if you're close to it?

One of the daily challenges for the trader role is to donate 3 medium animal carcasses to Cripps.

I have donated whole deer (buck and doe) and coyotes.  I have donated skinned deer and coyotes as well.  None of them register so I'm still sitting at 0/3.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Fairly sure medium animals are the ones that are stored on the sides of your horse.

I completely forgot to mention the ability efficiency that you unlock at Trader rank 10. This gives you 25% more materials per carcass and pelt. So this is another profit increase. Now to compare it I use the same calculation as before. With efficiency a deer gives you 8.75 materials instead of 7. This produces 4.38 wares instead of 3.5 wares. 4.38 wares x 6.25$ (the max value for 1 ware if you sell 100 wares at a distant sale) = 27.38$.

So starting at rank 10 with efficiency, the large delivery wagon and 100 wares at the same time, a deer is now indirectly worth 27.38$, instead of just 7$. Which is also 5.5$ more than my previous calculation that didn't include the ability efficiency.

No raids to me so far. Rank 7 on this moment and run only local dilivery’s on a medium car. And no interaction with other players who destroying my goods! Its possible to ride a full car trough a shootout in Rodes.

So I stole this guys wagon... yes I'm a asshole... and delivered it. Then I had to defend it for 10 min. At the dropoff where he just kept coming at me. I held him off for 10 minutes (thx improved lasso) and when the timer ran out a message said I had successfully stolen 33 units.

So where does these units go? It didn't go to my camp, cus I checked the goods before and after my dirty deed.

I'm not sure if I recieved any money.

I had to defend my camp last night. I was roaming around Scarlett Meadows and my dog came up to me from nowhere barking at me, just like Lassie lol. Then I got a pop up saying I was being raided. After that I got the option to teleport directly to my camp and it was the easiest thing to defend it, the raiders didn’t even have guns lol! They just keept going for the pelts like rugby players. After killing maybe ten of them it was over, super easy.

So our dog is the new LJT I guess

I saw on Reddit last night that the sell price for one hundred units of Cargo for Trader is five hundred dollars and over six hundred for a long distance sale if you sell one large wagon.

Are we happy with that price?

Yea, I can't complain. Its three hours and twenty minutes for five hundred dollars passive. You just need to drop off some skins now and again and do a resuppy mission.

As I'm a low rank at this still, how much should I sell solo to be sure of lone wolf friendly sales?

(In the same way bikers is 1.5 bars of product to be sure of 1 vehicle).

I don't wanna fill up and be left with 4 post op vans, lol.
