The Trader General Thread

After selling a small wagon with 25 products i ordered supplies this time to see what value i could get.

Went afk around my camp fire, checked post office and i did found a letter or something about supplies but it dissapeared.

Anyway 15 min later it’s empty for supplies and value is now 12.5 dollar when selling to a close buyer.

Must be something wrong when i pay 20 dollar and get product for 12.5 dollar after it’s produced??

Love the fact that now one can unlock a ring to wear with the trading role!

I can’t seem to unlock the trader role. I read Cripps’ letter and went to the general store. I stepped away while the cut scene was going and didn’t get back to accept. His icon has now left my map and I can’t get it back. I’ve exited the session and came back on and reread his letter, but still no luck. Any ideas?

No idea but this excactly what happened to me with the collector lady, i didnt purchase the bag since i should get it for free. 5-6 hours later in and out of sessions and she is not appearing on the map

It was unskinned deer that did it. Still cant carry moose or elk.

Coyotes too, and I guess wolves, foxes, beavers or whatever animal carcasses that need to be carried on horseback (not on the sides of the horse) would do it aswell.

Kinda confusing because technically "big animals" are those that can only be skinned, not carried (bears, elk, etc). Deer counts as medium animal for the knife killing award, idk *shrug*

Selling buckets loads of items to the regular butchers yields much more money and you dont run into the risk of another player trying to take you out ruining hours of gameplay.

Ill rank up to hunting wagon then after that I can see this role being useless

I used a timer, it takes 2 minutes for a single Delivery Material to be produced.

It will take 50 minutes to produce 25 delivery materials which give you 62.5 dollars for selling near, 78.125 dollars for selling far

Each delivery material cost 2.5 dollars, you get 25% bonus for selling distant/far deliveries

If we take this into account, you can hold 100 Goods, so a full delivery will give you 250 dollars for selling near, or 312.5 for selling far but a full delivery takes 200 minutes which is 3 hours, 20 minutes to be produced.

I can hunt that dollar value in that time frame and mitigate the risk of loss from disconnects or attacking players.

I'm not exactly overjoyed with this role :(

to be honest, i was really hoping you could start your own business in your camp and sell stuff from your own inventory/stuff you find out in the world. i could've seen myself selling a f*ck ton of animal fat for those with explosive bullet pamphlets.

Only + I see with being a trader so far, is that you can pitch camp at a spot, and then just have to deliver the game at that spot, inatead of having to run to town with each carcass

For Trader, buy at camp--cripps Butcher table 15 gold

However, the game states that better quality items has a higher raw material value, so I'm curious what happens if you do a delivery of pure 3 star whitetails.

The thing I really like about the trader business that should be applied to businesses in GTA, is that the game tells you when production is halted because of low supplies or materials. It makes it much easier to know when to make a trip back to camp or do some hunting

Do you have to buy the trader buy in to get a dog or can you get one without buying the table thing?

I just figured the better quality items then the more the Materials bar fills up.

Why can't I order supplies even when the production is halted?

EDIT: Gtamen made a good video.

Anyone got the hunting wagon yet? I'm curious if it's worth the grind.

So far I've seen nothing else to keep my interest in this game

So paying for supplies gives you 5 units of goods, if that's true then you have to pay 100 dollars to produce 25 supplies which then you sell for 62 dollars / 78 dollars.

That's really bad, you aren't making profit at all.

I remember doing a resupply mission and it got me like 20 units of supplies.

It's actually a great role if you try to mix it with other activities.

Provide the business with enough materials & supplies and then go do some other activities to make money.

If you have a posse that could help you supply the materials then you will make some good money.

Do you know the cut for posse members?

I have the bug that 9/10x I can't do a supply run :/

I think the supply amount is random. I started as a trader late last night after what I'd read here, one supply mission also gave me 20 units, the second I did only gave me 6.

This one is a brutal and boring grind to unlock some cool items, that's it. I get exhausted just thinking about the wagon deliveries that will be needed....

I mean to turn this role, arguably the most anticipated, into the worst one by far, takes a special kind of suck.

The camp stuff is cool though I bought it all so far. Stew pot, doggie, party camp fire. Just lookin for that gun locker.

Can you wear individual items from role outfits separately?

Trader is more appealing to me after seeing how gimpy bounty hunter fits are.

I only want level 1 for the fringe suede jacket lmao

Thanks for testing it out. Pretty sure it will just be the same as handing in 1 Star animals but will be interesting to see the results.

We did a run last night, two of us. Posse leader got $62 and I got $31 so half ain't bad if it's consistent. And it was a short run.

Bit worried about the trader role as nothing seems to change, seems to be the same grind over and over.

My camp is in the Heartlands and most of the time the deer are wondering through my camp. I feel like a farmer not some epic trader. I kill the animal, hand it in, deliver the goods, do a supply run, kill a deer, deliver the goods, do a supply run. All this is done without leaving the area around my camp.

Does anything change with the higher levels or is it still the same over and over?

I was was expecting something bigger like being able to craft gear like in SP at the camp so more incentive to kill different animals and hunt in different areas, upgrade the camp like in SP by handing in different animals, missions to hunt rare animals etc.

might as well be a sheep farmer taking the meat to market.

Do you know why that old fk is doing absolutely nothing, other than bitchin about supplies? Because there are no fk'ing supplies.

I do like that you can get the maximum 100 crates even if you don't have the Large Delivery Wagon, just means you need to do four deliveries. You are not gimped by not having the biggest vehicles. If you keep it stocked you could make a thousand dollars every IRL week for doing little work. I can drop my Camp near a fishing spot and fish to my hearts content now and still be making money.

Are you selling with the small wagon?

Otherwise this was my thought as well. But it would be interesting to see how much a full medium or large wagon brings in terms of cash.
