You do get more xp for them being alive naturally. So to faster level, do that. Also if you hate the role so much, wait outside the dropoff/jaill until the last 30 seconds. You get more xp with friends I think, or maybe its just that we do 4 and 6 men bounties when in a posse. This is not even close to the wow proffession grind, this is more like the badlands grind from lvl 33- 40. It was tedious, but if you just kept doing it, you got where you wanted soon enough.

True, the WoW profession grind is quite a bit worse, but also long ago. This grind gives me the same feeling, more so because I really don't like it. I'm a solo player 99,9% of the time and lack friends who play RDO on PS4. I only have 5 levels to go to get to my goal, but damn, do these 5 levels feel like 500 of em..

@Leftover PizzaI dont have any friends that played either gta nor rdr2. Or at least not until I started hanging out here on gtaf. Now I have several friends and friends of friends I can play with through my crew and other people from the forums. I have the same nick on psn, so you are welcome to add me. I can help you out. Just say who you are when you add me. I have 4 kids and sometimes a busy life, but trying to be on when I can.

Much appreciated, but I'll have to politely decline, mostly because I'm not a solo player for no reason. I am often not very reliable in groups and afk randomly, due to RL stuff happening around me.

No use of mics and so makes that even more frustrating for those I group with. I'll get them 5 levels some day and I am by far in a hurry :D

Can you put a leather wrap on the Bounty Hunter skinned rifle?

Nope! You can't change anything about it. Both 'components' and 'styles' are greyed out once the Bounty Variant is applied.

Thanks, mate! So that's a hard pass for me, like the schofields. I use dual LeMats, & would have just liked them to have provided role variant skins for each weapon.

Im used to different kind of players. Its your choice, but the offer stands. Im an expert at doing nothing as well as just going around collecting or hunting.

Can somebody tell me how it works or the XP difference between a $$ bounty poster and a $$$ bounty poster? Looks like there's obviously a difference in payment but I'm just talking about the bounty hunter XP you get. Also, do you get more XP if they're alive and if it takes you longer to complete the mission?

I'm working on solving that now.

Cash and Gold payouts are a function of time.

Gold has a static pay scale, Cash however:
Between 1-10 minutes it's $1.50 a minute. Every minute after that is $0.75.
$ is 100%, $$ is 125%, $$$ is 150%
1 Target is 100%, 2 is 166.666666666667%, 4 is 200%, and I don't have it for 6, or a level $$$ mission with 4.
Alive 100%, Dead is 50%, Escaped is 0%
So it's something like:
(Pay Bracket*Difficulty)*Number of Targets)/Condition of Targets = Mission Pay.

That guy looks mean. Can’t wait. The legendary bounties are the only thing I actually like about this role so far. I think they have all been really fun.

I'd imagine this new LB will be quite interesting on the higher difficulties with off radar gators charging at you from all directions!

What was in that stew pot though? 😵

What are the 4 and 5 star requirements on the fugitive from the previous week?

1. Be in the previous week.

2. Have completed the 3 and 4 star versions respectively.

There’s a cooldown on the legendary bounty though.

Omg not this.

For example, the target must be alive (the wolfman), capture 2 guys more (Barbarella), survive an ambush (owlhoot family)...

I finally reached rank 20 on this role. Now I can finally say, this role is crap, the others are much better.

The Trader role can guarantee you to make lots of money even after you reach rank 20, the Collector role is the best money making role, just go find a bunch of items and sell them, the coins alone give you $500 for the full set and it won't take much time to collect all of them.

Bounty Hunter in the other hand, is just not good, I played it just for the sake of reaching rank 20 and the clothing pieces that comes with it.

Legendary Bounties are okay for one-time experience, the rewards are meh, you get like 24 dollars or 50 dollars ? Maximum you can make in one hour is about 200 dollars or 180 dollars ? Not to mention how it require a posse of 4 players to decrease the chances of a bounty escaping.

The other roles are grindy too but at least they reward you for the effort you've put into them.

This!
I’m 20 and 19 in Collector and Trader respectively. Bounty Hunter? Level 3. It gets real old, real fast. Funny, you’d think that R* would at least get that particular role right. But it’s Collector and Trader that’s fun and exciting.
The thing is though, that the Bounty Hunter role has the best looking saddle, gun belts, camp theme, horses and off-hand holster. So I kind of have to rank it up, but Jesus H Christ it starts getting boring fast. I can’t do more than 3 or 4 before I start yawning.

Enh, if payout is your main criteria for judging a role then I suppose I see the case against Bounty Hunter, but I look at BH as primarily a gold source, since the other roles are heavy on cash/xp. I check the BH dailies and try to knock them all out in as few missions as possible, 2 or 3 usually does the trick. I enjoy the challenge of going after multiple targets solo or at least shorthanded and it's easy to do some collecting and/or hunting for Cripps during the missions. TBH none of the roles really stand as an especially compelling experience on their own, the fun's in combination.

One thing I like about the Trader and Collector roles is the payoff, I can collect a bunch of items as Collector or fill up my business to the max as Trader and then weeks after, I could sell a full stock of supplies or sell all the collective items I have found.

There's a chance some assholes would ruin all the grinding I have done, but when I deliver the wagon or sell my set of collections, I will feel that nice relief from all the grinding I have done.

While the Bounty Hunter role in the other hand is just 24/7 grinding process, and now that I have reached rank 20, hunting bounties feels same as doing stranger missions to me. Heck it even function the same, "the more time you spend, the better your reward" which is stupid.

Yes, it is more fun if you combine the three roles, but one day I experienced bad luck in pretty much every bounty mission I accepted. The bounty either escape or dies, I never felt so much rage in my life. I would look at videos where some idiot would smash his TV or monitor and laugh at him, but in that day, I considered doing the same.

I will probably not complain much about the Bounty Hunter role if I could play this game every day.

This is only a partial truth.

Missions pay out like wages. $1.50 a minute for $ Bounties. But this is only for the first 10. After that the pay drops to $0.75 a minute.

So yes, by wasting 30 minutes you are technically getting a higher dollar amount at the end of the mission. But, you are making less.

Image

Now this is unless you combine all three activities.
Then the best way to play them is:
1. Grab the bounty
2. Hunt or gather collectibles for ~15 minutes, or until you get the "5 minutes until end" timer.
(the only time this doesn't work is if a player passes by the bounty. Then the catch'em timer starts)
3. Go capture the bounty.
4. Rinse, repeat.

However, if you are just "grinding" bounties, then 9-10 minutes per mission is the sweet spot. And this gives you ~3 minutes to get to the bounty,~4 minutes to capture them, and ~3 minutes to bring them in.

This translates to playing the missions at a casual play. Don't rush, don't drag your feet. Just play them "normal".

And once this damn bonus XP week is over I'll have the breakdown for the XP earnings as well. And I'm willing to bet it follows the same pattern.

------------------------------------------------------

Try playing it like this:
Start in Tumbleweed, grab a bounty.
Do a little hunting and collecting along the way to capturing it.
Once you get it, drop it off in Armadillo if you can.
Grab a bounty from Armadillo,

Rinse and repeat your way to Blackwater.
Rinse and repeat to Strawberry.
Traveling from bounty board to bounty board, hunting and collecting along the way. Oh what's this? A strange mission? Sure, lets throw one in the mix. Got to get to Saint Denis some how...

I love the fact that the Bounty Hunter role pays out gold. It was the first role I maxed, just under a week & half in (since it's release) & I don't know why people say it's hard compared to the trader & collector. I've yet to complete an actual collection, because I haven't used a web-map yet, not really my style just riding around waiting for my controller to vibrate, (& I hate the metal detector) & Cripps makes the whole trader role a pain in the arse with all the camp moving. Lately I've been spending more time SUMMONING my camp than making use of it.

I always grab the bounty, kick em till they're out, then saunter back nice and slow. That way I spend my time killing the few bad guys that spawn behind me every so often, then lootin' em, instead of just sittin' at the jail waiting for the timer to run out. Plus lots of xp and loot...and some of that loot is antique bottles and tarot cards.
