The Bounty Hunter General Thread

Right now I’m level 13 trader, 8 collector and 3 almost 4 BH. I haven’t touched BH much yet because it seems that the grind is very real in that one. So I don’t know if I should buy the large delivery wagon first, or get working on the BH. I really want that Bh off hand holster and camp theme.

So my question is if it’s better to do BH with other players? Is there more of the xp with it?

The sleeping tents in camp....... Do we actually get to go inside any of them?

 

i am on my second upgrade, and not one of them lets you lay on the bed.  so is the massive covered tent really worth getting, if all we do is continue sitting outside it.

I know that the big tent let’s you walk inside it. I have the A frame right now, but I’m not spending another dime on tents until I unlock the big one. Level 43 at the moment, so there’s quite a way to go.

I bought the license weeks ago, but can't get myself to level up this role at all. I did a few bounties, but still stuck on rank 1 without any motivation to rank up further. The outfits do not appeal to me at all and I can live without Eagle Eye+. I've done without it for a year already, so I won't miss something I haven't experienced. 

These are the 15 gold bars worst spent in game for me.

Seriously mate, EE+ is worth the grind. I really disliked grinding out BH through the blackscreen bug, but EE+ is one of those things where as soon as you've got it you don't know how you played without it.

If anything I'm now super peeved I can't use EE+ while on a wagon.

Why not? It seems to work for me. 

 

The bug I have with EE+ most often is that when I die it stops working until I change lobby.

The eagle eye can really help out while riding around, & has helped me a bunch with the collector role, & it rocks for hunting too

While looking at Henri's face on your avatar and reading your advice, I guess I have no choice but to follow up and do the tedious grind and losing my camp umpteen times to get to rank 7.....

My EE+ shuts downs as soon as I start to speed up no matter what wagon I'm driving.

Try the legendary bounties, they pay out good xp, & get harder each time up to five stars, at which point, enemies are sniper tanks that don't show up on radar. Knowing that however, you can adjust accordingly.

I hold X, I don't bother with button mashing, and use Eagle Eye at night because I struggle seeing during the game nights, since unlocking EE+ I don't get kicked out of Eagle Eye.

 

If it's my game that's bugged it's a very consistent bug.

Yeah the legendary bounties will make a huge difference in ranking up that role. Can somebody tell me what button to push to duck on horseback after you’ve unlocked it?

The same buttons you use for breaking auto aim on foot. L2 and then square (on ps4). Left stick to choose direction.

3 bounties failed so far. One got away, shot the other one dead and at the third my horse disappeared and didn't come when I whistled. Had to walk my bounty to the sherrif's office in 5 minutes..... Are there bounties where personal horses are disabled?

So the daily challenge "Bounty targets taken down with Bolas" doesn't actually work by taking them down with Bolas. You have to get off your horse and tackle them while you have a Bola equipped. More R* bull****.

Well, after a few hours of bounty hunting, did the legendary twice without hassle. Third time I had a hundred terminator guards following me, after I cleared out the camp (and killed the bounty again). On my way to the sheriff's office, I got loads and waves of enemies to deal with. Went up 1 rank!!! 1 full rank!! Did 3 Legendary runs, several town bounties too. 1 rank!!! 

EE+, FU!!! Not gonna do this sh*t.

EE+ is recommended as an unlock, but this is sooooo not my play style. I might give it a go later again, but for now, back to collecting!

I've noticed that it is becoming more common to stay in the same lobby after starting a bounty rather than dropping off into a solo lobby (as obviously happened in this case). Wonder is there some work being done in the background or  just an unlucky streak.... 

 

Honestly I'm starting to think it's just a result of the game trying to place some type of mission related thing at a particular location that is already being utilized in the lobby by another players activities. The solo lobby thing is so inconsistent that it's the only real conclusion I could come to, stuff that would be effected as far as I can tell are things like bounty missions, camp missions (crips trading co) and stranger missions, might be missing something.

 

Say you start a bounty for a guy from valentine and the particular setup it picks (however it is programmed) has you going to cotorra springs and following scent trails from a camp or whatever. But the lobby you're currently in already has something placed there, say a pick up location for a camp supply run, so instead of choosing a new area or setup or whatever (for whatever reason) it instead loads you into a solo lobby and places your objectives down in that spot that's now unoccupied. Feels like a thing that was coded a certain way.

 

But then again who knows I could be way off.

This stuff isn't meant to be cleared in a single day,  it's meant to give you something to do and keep you interested and playing the game.

I've only done 1* and 2* of this week's LB so far, but it's not difficult. Clear the fort, then kill the seemingly endless enemy spawns until the target makes a run for it.

 

If 4* adds extra bounty targets that could bump up the difficulty, I'll just kill them though.

 

5* without enemies on radar could be tricky with the endless spawns, but if you're careful this week won't be difficult.

my last 2 headhunter missions won`t start. never happened before. already restarted the game but no luck.

 

maybe Ill try the new legedary bounty now

Best thing to do is to do the clock cheese on the regular bounty targets. I turn my targets in at the 5 second mark and while I wait I hop on the computer or something. The rewards are worth it then EE+ is dope though like @ALifeOfMisery said. I also don't know if you use pistols/revolvers. If you do the tricks may or may not be worth it....... I don't know I don't use pistols/revolvers.

I use revolvers, but the tricks do not interest me at all. The only thing I aim for is EE+ and it will be one of the most horrible grinds I’ve done in online games for a while. For those who know it, it equals the grind to max out Engineering and Blacksmith in WoW, during the TBC days....

The grind is terrible. I mean at times it felt like I was forcing myself to do bounties. Collector Role was better for me to max out and did it fairly quickly. I mean I don't even wear the eye patch which was the ultimate unlock, but I did like the last color options of the Breton(the Grayish Black one)

Thought about the Breton, but it doesn't suit my character, so that is a grind I can let go off easily. I'll have to crawl forwards on my teeth to get to rank 7 at this rate, and hope EE+ is worth it. 

One thing is for sure. A lot of NPC's traveling the lands aren't coming home for at least as long as I'm grinding those ranks. If anyone is missing the point of hunting bounty, it's gonna be my character, because he'll kill more than he's preventing his bounties combined to kill.

You do get more xp for them being alive naturally. So to faster level, do that. Also if you hate the role so much, wait outside the dropoff/jaill until the last 30 seconds. You get more xp with friends I think, or maybe its just that we do 4 and 6 men bounties when in a posse. This is not even close to the wow proffession grind, this is more like the badlands grind from lvl 33- 40. It was tedious, but if you just kept doing it, you got where you wanted soon enough.
