Battlestar Galactica centres around a war between humans from the 12 colonies and the Cylons, robot servants they created who rebelled. After 40 years the Cylons have returned and evolved, they can now take human form. It is imo one of the best sci-fi shows ever, at it's core it's about the human condition, and the highs and lows which accompany it. It is a dark drama with moral dilemmas, interesting complex characters and tense action. It looks excellent and is shot very well. The sfx during the space battles is excellent. It's not perfect however, it has it's share of weak episodes but overall it's well worth a watch, especially now that it's so freely available.
