So many games adopting them now it's kinda insane. I hope it isn't overly grindy, battle passes are at their best when they're just enough incentive to get on and so stuff but not THE reason to get on and do stuff. Jason Posted September 5, 2019 Author Share Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) The original pass, Fortnite's, gave out premium currency meaning you only technically had to buy the pass once and as long as you leveled it up you got your currency back to buy the next one. I believe there's a few other passes that do this, but not all of them. I'd be surprised if Rockstar do it here but ya never know I guess. It'd be a bit sucky if this was a premium purchase on top of the 15-45 purchase for the roles tbh. Edit: @executor404 source? Most passes I've seen are either immediately followed by a new one or a new one launches a few weeks later with an update, so we might have one more update this year after this one. That being said, passes are a good way to give players a reason to play during slow periods between major updates as well, Warframe does this well. It seems like these are not the normal ranks. These are special ranks that even higher rank players need to reach first, it's probably faster than the normal ranks (if I'm reading it correctly). I personally don't see anything wrong with this type of Battle pass, considering you can buy it via ingame grinding and are not forced to spend real life money on it. There is no way I am going to get all 70 levels, but still... What else should I spend my gold on?
