Cold November
What about a preacher, like Jesse Custer from the tv show. (Without the voice of god of course) You could incorporate the occult into it. I think that would be lots of fun.
Kirk Lazarus
Ugh... the crack-cocaine of having run through all the new content has left me itching for more. The daily challenges and grindy collecting for digital currency only goes so far. Now imagine something like a Photographer role that could have random opportunities based on what is taken. Such as "Take a shot 10 feet from a Grizzly Bear". To contrast that, the online Collector maps reveal there's no random possibility with Collecting. This reduces the desire to continue to search any location for some possibility.

Kirk Lazarus
Ugh the whole Photo feature needs an overhaul. It's ridiculous we are limited to 90 or so photos. Having it connect to the Social Club when you might not even want to post publically is screwy. The refresh times are horrible on that making sorting them a pain. And not having a delete option while viewing photos is a royal pain. Stupidis and Matt190

Mr.Kiljoy
Gentlemen I present for your consideration... Bare knuckle fighting! Add a training facility. Add a trainer. A circus tent environment with a Boxing ring and announcer. Add several layers of PVP and PVE avenues to greatness. Can I get a HELL YES?! Please help me to help you, make this a thing! lol! For the game dammit! The fight dynamics are already awesome... and so far (So far) they are not highlighted as they should be... However, I can't imagine this not already being in the works...It's a no brain-er, in my opinion! See you out there! Ziggy_Ivanhoe
I would like to see something that will allow my posse to performs heists like bank and train robberies, and smaller things like stagecoach and small shop robberies. I feel like the roles are all for honorable cowpokes, except some of the trader missions where you steal goods or whatever, but that doesn't really give me that "outlaw" feeling. Not sure what role that should be, just the Outlaw role? Maybe it doesn't have to be a role but like in GTA, you may have to buy a "gang hideout" and then plan the heist with a series of setup missions. It actually is a total pain in the butt to keep your honor low in this game. Give some more low honor outlaw stuff to do. Let me buy a hideout for my gang like the NPC gangs have and allow us to perform nefarious missions while those who choose the side of the law can try and thwart our plans. Cordohen
I would like to see something like this: RED DEAD ONLINE - FRONTIER PURSUITS - Robbers • Shepherds • Photographers ROBBERS This role would introduce heists. Those would be available to do alone, but doing them with your posse would be much more efficient. Doing them alone would be hard but, obviously, you won't have to cut the score. Targets would be: Stagecoaches Prison coaches : a bit like some random events in the story mode, here you would have to fight the law and set free one or a few prisoners and then deliver them to some safe place to get a reward Bank coaches : fight the law protecting the carriage, steal the gold and get it to your camp to get gold (or sell it to a third party somewhere to get money) Supply coaches : steal one (or two, or even three) carriages from some npc traders and get them to your camp (so you can turn them into materials for the trader role) or sell them to a third party (so you can get money) Stores General stores : steal the supplies (food, mainly) and keep them for you and your posse, or sell them to a third party for money Gunsmiths : steal ammunitions (and guns ? maybe not haha, would be to easy) and keep them for you and your posse or sell them to a third party for money Drugstores : steal drugs (tonics, stimulants and other stuff) and keep them for you and your posse or sell them to a third party for money Trains Passenger trains : like the second train robbery in the story mode, stop the train, rob the npcs inside and escape the law Freight trains : a higly protected train, kill all men aboard and loot the different wagons (supplies, money, or sometimes even gold) Special/rare missions would let you hit the banks in Valentine, Rhodes or Saint-Denis, with a big reward (gold and money) at the end. SHEPHERDS This role would introduce some missions for a couple ranchers on the map. The owner would ask you to go and steal a herd of sheep (or cows) from someone, gather them and lead them back to the ranch (a bit like that one mission with John in story mode). The dog could be useful here, and missions would obviously be easier when done with your friends/posse. PHOTOGRAPHERS This role would unlock some missions for the photohraphers in Saint-Denis or Blackwater. They would ask you to take a certain amount of photos related each time to a specific theme (a bit like the Photography Class in Bully, but way more developped). Once done, return the photos to the photographer and get a reward. This would be another way to explore the map and do a job that wouldn't impliy gunfights directly (just like the Collector). Of course there could be a lot more roles, like something that would be more related to the fishing stuff, or maybe some real businessman/industrialist sh*t in Saint-Denis why not. Properties would be great too, though I don't really know how Rockstar would make this work (I mean private instances with coronas outside of the buildings sorta work for GTAO, but not that much for RDO). Velled
Looks like they are adding the moonshiner role. What does everyone think of the info so far? I got pretty excited and then remembered Cripps and the camps which is the only reason I havent been playing rdr2o.... unless they stop moving players between servers...they cannot stop moving in game entities owned by the player....and I can totally see a situation similiar to the camps where your biz wont setup. then I got bummed and lost all incentive to try the update. Maybe they have learned from Cripps and your moonshine biz is solo/posse instance only.... but even then if you join an event or grab a bounty .... your instance seems likely to change and the entire mess comes back into play. Anyone have any ideas on how this might work? I need an rdr2 update pep rally or something. Edited December 3, 2019 by Velled Bi9Daddy68
Waingro
On 10/1/2019 at 4:15 PM, theEwing1979 said: Fisherman. Could be a separate role or an extension of the trader role. Loads of ways for Rockstar to take our money and gold. Rods, nets, bait and obviously boats. Moonshiner. Sell illegal alcohol to saloons and other buyers. Lots and fetching and carrying and we know Rockstar love that model. Again opportunity for us to spend on equipment, supplies, carts for transport. This role would also give those that want to go down the dishonourable route something to get stuck into. I think we'll see our characters owning houses and other business properties much later on. When that happens I'd love to be able to own a saloon or a store or even a whore house. I get the theory that it wouldn't be possible or realistic to have multiple players owning the same property. Would it be possible to have a system where you can only load into a session where there are no players owning the same property? @theEwing1979 for today's prize. As a part-time bartender, I hope that speakeasies instancing is limited like camps so there's a point to doing this. Otherwise everyone's going to be running a speakeasy at the same time, in the same location(s) and there will little interaction at these. AgentExeider
I keep seeing Assay offices in various towns, Assay offices are for checking and verifying purity of rare and valuable materials, like gold. Could this be a hint at a "Prospector/Miner" role for the Collector?? I know there is some kind of Lawman role expected for the Bounty Hunter. Though I still want a homestead to call my own. Not only that I personally want it, but I am really interested how R* would tackle this problem. I see two options: 1. Off map locations 2. Being a ranchhand instead of owning your own ranch. 2. Would work similar to how we do missions now. You can do chores in freeroam for the boss and get paid a sum. You can't own your own ranch since about 10 others could have the same location. I just don't see this work... like: woah ten other people are living in MY house?! In gta it works, since there are skyscrapers and all work can be done inside. In red dead... not so much. 1. would be ideal, since you would actually own your own ranch. Choose your own livestock and your own 'house' and literally build your ranch without interverance of other players. This is the role we need next! I could see the role progressing like this: Shepard -> Ranch hand - > Homestead owner -> Ranch owner There are a lot of empty houses, farms, homesteads spread over the map. I could see the homestead/ranch operating just like a combination of the camp and the moonshine shack; a permanent place shared with others but when you enter it's yours. All the camp features would be present like wardrobe, guns and ammo box, hot stew on the stove, trader bench outside, outfitters inside etc. In relation to your homestead/ranch you could do missions (just like trader role is launched from the camp) like cattle rustling, trading livestock at the auction yard, protecting the property, steal from other. Doing chores and selling goods to town could earn money/gold (like in single player). Hunting/fishing,collecting etc should give the option to upgrade and personalize your homestead (like in single player). A stable would bring the option to store all your horses. Only issue would be outside on your property. How would it look f.eks in the stable with your horses and other player's horses.. And also in the pen with all the animals.. Could be when you enter the premises its only "your" homestead showing.. Anyway hoping for this role!! ivarblaauw, NattyBumbbo and Kirk Lazarus
NattyBumbbo
Ranches could bring passive income and entice cooperative play by incentivizing the players in a session. Imagining the story mode version of Pronghorn Ranch in multiplayer, NPC’s breaking horses, leaning on fences, etc., but some of the NPC’s mending fences and milking cows are other players. When I roam in story I enjoy the icon pop ups to cut some logs, milk a cow, even shovel manure for a quick break from running and gunning. if they offered static “established” ranches online, like... I dunno, a community bubble? Pronghorn has the same dude running it from the story, son, wife, marital woes, the hands are there workin. You’re headed back to camp in Big Valley and you pop in and do a few chores, maybe a stranger mission. Apply similar features to other ranches around the map. Fast forward when you level up through herding, ranch handling, etc. you go talk to Mr. Ranch, you have your eye on a property in Scarlet Meadows... he hooks you up with his banker connections in Rhodes. now you own a ranch community bubble in Scarlett Meadows! Players can ride onto the ranch, do some chores, work toward your production, don’t even need a posse, that player is just a transient hobo doin chores for a few bucks. Maybe hire unique randomized NPC’s with skills and combat abilities, perks or something. I dunno. but if you own the same ranch as someone else you wouldn’t see them, but you’d see other players living custom ranches in other states, and you could contribute to them. And ranch owners could set up cooperative trade/delivery with one another, horses for dairy farms or whatever specialized ranch they run.

liam_faye
I've been thinking about a potential photography role since it seems to be the next one going off of dataminers and leakers. My idea is that we could own an "art studio" property, which would be lofts located in Saint Denis and Blackwater. Here you would be able to take offers from people who want pictures of specific things. The subjects would fall into three categories, which are animals, places, and people. After taking the picture, you could sell it to the customer who would grade it on the quality and earn money based on how well you did. I just don't know how much fun a photography role would be. I'd rather have a law enforcement role. Failed Again
