They were quite long on the consoles (XBOX/PS2) though, right?

Completely forgot I was quoted here. I'm not really sure but I'd assume they couldn't have been terribly long.

My two main problems are:

1) The Mission structure is garbage, do a series of missions for the man, takeover, buy all the places, make a nessasary amount of money from them, then the endgame happens with no bloody pay off

2) The Missions them selves, for example the mission Shakedown, you're tasked with wrecking different shops in the mall all the way across the map and ARE GIVING ONLY 5 MINUTES TO DO SO, The drive from Tommys mansion to the mall takes 4 friggin minutes and your only given the rest of the allotted time to wreck house, AAAAHHHHHHH F*CK I HATE THIS GAME🤬🤬🤬🤬

To elaborate a bit on the other options in this poll Tommy's movements look more like those of an automaton than of a human but it never bothered me very much, the graphics are agreable and grew old well, I like the sound effects, the game contains a lot of cool characters starting with Tommy and also Lance, Phil, Umberto, Diaz, Mitch Baker notably ; the characters are largely better than in 3 and nicely made. Despite all its inconsistencies I like the scenario.

For me the gameplay itself. For example controlling small RC helicopter - impossible 11/10. :D Or I remember it like that.

I love VC but imo the story was too short but since that's not an option the map was another issue

The story is weird to me. It's amazing, but parts of it feel forced. I think Diaz dies too soon, and then I thought the Lance Vance betrayal falls a bit flat. It's an incredible game though.

The map is possibly the worst in the series (imo) and for some reason Rockstar made peds "skinnier" than in III which I found less realistic. As OG said earlier - the streets were very sparse compared to SA and III which is odd.

All of the Radio stations are so good that it's hard to decide which one you want to listen to.

Yes, this is a problem. A good one to have.

The story feels underdeveloped after "Rub Out".

Yeah. As I've said numerous times the story just seems to come to a screeching halt when Diaz is killed. In one of my saves I got up to to killing him in about 8 hours.

Everything else after that mostly consists of the asset missions until Sonny makes an appearance at the end. I think Diaz should've been killed much deeper into the story and more focus should've been on Tommy infiltrating his operation. I understand back in 2002 the games weren't as enriched in their story telling like the HD era GTAs/Red Dead series are, but still some more time could've been spent fleshing it out.

Thing is, Diaz was killed near the very end of the story. The problem is, after killing him, you don't get the end of the story until you've finished asset missions after doing your own. If the last two missions came about after Cop Land, you'd say Diaz was killed near the end of the story. But as said, the story seems to pause for these asset and side missions. They themselves may be required to complete the story, but they're not really part of it, and can be done in any order of business. Tommy buying an ice cream factory to distribute drugs is just one of the options. That's one major gripe I have with Vice City, of which the map was actually not one of them. Small by today's standards of course, but it's fine for what we got. I mean it feels small because of main roads that can get you across the map in short time, but isn't that typical of American cities as a whole?

Compared to GTA III,the map felt way smaller.I feel they could have done more, they could have added the Gator Keys, but sadly there was no more time for the company to develop the game further.

The animations of tommy, I’ll never understand that.

Agreed. The way he runs is so awkward and weird. Plus why does he run so damn fast?

Another thing I didn’t like was the Blistas final model. I much preferred the beta model as that looked much closer to the CRX as well as had the GPX on the back. Not to mention the Honda rims which were and still are awesome.

I just fired up VC and drove from the Mansion to the Mall in 50 seconds - if it's taking you four MINUTES you must be a f*cking terrible driver.

The map not because of size but because of how boring it is and the questionable designs to it.

I swear claude has more natural animations when it comes to basic movement. Sure they look sillier but it's not like how Tommy is constantly snapping into a new animation.

If Tommy’s animations existed in real life, the world would be a different place. I mean...imagine being so fast you can catch trains and jump onto them with zero problem, free train rides damn

The controls on PC, i mean when you press to fire a gun the response delays a second or two, and you automatically see the middle circle with dot when you switch to a firearm and you only have right-click aim for assault rifles and m60

I hate the delay with Tommy taking a footstep before sprinting. It was NOT like that in GTA 3.

It isnt, its the vehicles that make us feel its small. There's so much wasted space in the map, such a shame.

I hate how in higher wanted levels the moment you turn your back several cops automatically spawn behind you and when you take them out and happen to look in another direction and look back, again several cops spawn out of nowhere. Quite irritating.

The size of the map. Sometimes I feel that is even smaller than GTA 3 map.

Don't recall playing Vice City for the first time (or even now, tbh) and thinking, "damn, this just doesn't look good enough"

its not about looking good its that the map doesnt allow much in the way of battling the cops or fun freeroming. at least for me.

You would be right, it is. Plus the beach area from Vice Point and up is pretty much empty.
