This.

Its f*cking pure and utter greed.

It seems pretty steep.  I get maybe wanting to lock the roles to being level 25+ or something, but 15 gold bars a piece seems strange.  Seems like another reason to push the Twitch/Playstation partnerships, and force people to keep playing GTA.

What weapon is the lady holding in the first pic??

"Your trusted camp companion, Cripps, has long dreamed of starting a trading outpost and you’re going to help him make it happen - by becoming a partner in the fledgling Cripps Trading Company. Combining Cripps’ lifetime of working with animal materials and your skills at hunting and frontier security, you’ll have the perfect ingredients to develop a thriving business

Once you agree to help Cripps, you can start turning your camp into a business by sourcing items for Cripps to convert into sellable goods. An investment of 15 Gold Bars to purchase a Butcher’s Table will get your business up and running, while all PlayStation 4 players will get the Butcher’s Table for free.

Once you’re operational, you’ll provide Cripps with Materials through hunting animals – pristine pelts and carcasses will provide better yields. You’ll also take on Resupply Missions to acquire additional necessities through less than savory tactics. Once supplied, Cripps will begin turning the materials into sellable goods, which can then be sent out on low-risk local deliveries for payment or across greater distances for a premium.

Improve your hunting yields with a Hunting Wagon for larger hauls or upgrade your Delivery Wagons for larger sales. As business flourishes and your presence becomes known in the market, your competition may grow jealous of your success, so keep an eye out for raids on your camp. As your trade grows, you might consider purchasing a camp dog from Wilderness Outfitters. Not only are dogs great camp companions for all players, but a Trader of sufficient rank can teach their dog to warn of incoming attacks."

Wow...

I don't know how to summarize this, but... To make it short; it's exactly like how it is to do Biker Businesses in GTA Online.

  • Starting trading outpost - Starting the Business.
  • Sourcing items for Cripps - Literally sourcing supplies.
  • Cripps making it into sellable goods - your Business Staff making your product.
  • Sent out on local deliveries or greater distance for a premium - Literally the same as the Biker Business model.
  • Improving a Hunting Wagon - Like the Nightclub in GTA Online, you can upgrade your delivery trucks. Pretty much the same.
  • Competition in terms of raids - Raiding your Biker Business, and you have a timer to get to your business before it all gets stolen.
  • The dog - Security Upgrade for the Biker Business.

Dooon't get me wrong here, I'm interested to see how it will end up working in terms of gameplay.

I just don't hope Rockstar will follow the horrible model of selling in a public session where other players can interfere with your goods and blow it up with a single Dynamite Arrow.

I'm kinda worried about this. And I'm someone who likes to grind... :/

Edit: Arh, for f*cks sake...:

"Awareness: Identify rival Trader wagons at an increased range."

Yeah, could you, like... NOT do that, Rockstar?

So people have been playing this game daily, killing time, and waiting patiently for the update, but 15 gold bars for these entry fees raises an eyebrow?

If you’ve been playing a while, especially since beta, and don’t have at least 50 to 100 gold bars from natural play, then I’m the one raising an eyebrow.

This doesn’t apply to newer players or people way after beta.

15 Bars is basically $150ish, which isn't a lot. But getting 15 gold bars through playing without a streak bonus isn't something that can be done rapidly.

It aint needed.

i don't understand 90% of the stuff but at least you got news about the update you've been waiting for months now. It's now the time to impress PC players with something new to add on their game library if you know what i mean 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉

Five Gold per role would have been fine.

Well I have around 40gb and have been playing relatively often since day one. In that time though I've had sweet FA to spend it on so I just spent it on weapon cosmetics. I like my gold engraved guns.

I've zero intention on spending Gold on the update though, I'm a PS4 player and have already collected the cards GTA so that's 30gb saved. Twitch Prime? Dunno, have to look into it and see if it's worth it. I'm sure there's probably a free trial you sign up to?

15 gold bars is nothing, even 40. I barely play and have like 130 gold bars saved up. I saw some top players have 10000 gold bars already.

I thought a gold bar was roughly $20? so that would be $300

That was my assumption as well.  $300 bucks is not much in game, that's like two hats.  But gold is much harder to obtain.

But I get them all for free, so time to blow my gold on cosmetics, haha!

I have just over 200 gold bars right now and I can thank the fact that I didn’t feel the need for a gaudy all gold weapon loadout just so I can look like every one else with that exact same “unique” setup.

Making any gun all gold is at least 30 gold bars right there. Surely there were people that had the sense to realize something ya know a little more worthwhile and costly would come out in the future.

This is by no means a slight to people with all gold loadouts, but don’t spend gold frivalously then be surprised when stuff becomes out of reach in the future.

In addition to the first three new Roles comes dramatic improvements to player control with quicker and more responsive movement across all phases of combat and locomotion;

I know many people hated the slow clunky movement but I kinda got used to it and now kinda prefer it. I'm worried that may make it way too arcade like by removing or speeding up small animations your character does.

Example would be like the weapon swapping that They changed. They sped up the animation and then they removed the animation of us actually lighting the Molotovs and Dynamite. I may be in the minority here but I like those small details and I'm afraid they are just going to remove even more tiny animations like that.

Is this a new hairstyle? Do you guys see new hairstyles or facial hair options in the pictures?

It looked to me like the mustache in the Trader pic was new.  But I don't use the bushy mustaches often so I could be wrong.

I'm already feeling the grind, hopefully these new ranks won't work as the regular one. I don't know, giving a quick read to this Newswire post this update sounds as a GTA Online sort-of-Business update in RDO to me... Actually I think this is the very fisrt time that I'm with zero expectations after have read a Newswire post about an upcoming update. I hope to be wrong, but there are a series of worrying things that I noticed:

- Paywalls, 15 Gold Bars for accessing these 3 new roles / Free with Twitch Prime (just like the Penthouse in the Casino Update) for the Bounty Hunter / PS4 players have free access to the Trader / 54 collectible cards in GTA Online for the Collector

- New ranks

- New special abilities, obtainable as you progress with you rank (similar to bunker research in GTA Online?)

- Having a bounty could become very annoying since then you'd have bounty hunters following you forever. But this could be a nice addition if implemeted in the right way

- Resupply missions are back with the trader... And I think these will work in the same way they do in GTA Online, everyone in the session know what you're doing

- The Trader could buy upgrades to improve his hauls and delivery wagons... Further Adventures in Finance and Felony part 2?

- Incoming attacks? So the Trader can be raided?

- Collector can accumulate stuff for larger sales... Bigger risks probably, just like in Further Adventures in Finance and Felony

It doesn't look too promising to be honest, especially considering that we're waiting this update since 5 months... Well, at least there will be some nice fixes regarding the balancement of PvP.

I hope that, when they're saying "much much more", they're referring to the PC version.

Boozey St John

I look forward to getting my supplies destroyed by other players.

Shouldn't ducking on horseback be a standard option for everyone?

Edit: Someone will probably shoot my dog too.

I have nearly 600 gold bars and nothing to spend it on, so the entry cost isn't much to me. Still no need for it though.

Most of it sounds good, just hope they deliver - since it will no doubt be months and months before another update comes out. Trader wagons being ambushed sounds lame, just like a reskinned GTA cargo business. The rest does mostly sound good though.

Players needing 20$ bounties before they can be hunted - uh, who actually ever lets their bounty get that high?

More ability cards sounds good too, as much as some hate them. Hopefully one or two can boost my sniper into being a more consistent one hit kill.

Not sure about balance changes etc. Will need more details. I'm not keen on that unless it's really necessary. Hopefully only on stuff that needs it.

Players who'll want it after the update launches I'm guessing. Notice it says "structured pursuit" and that you get an invite, so I'm guessing it's an instanced thing. Could be fun to get your bounty that high and get into those modes.

Kinda was hoping for more info on character edit but that's okay. I'm probably gonna edit anyway. My boy gonna become more native! Lol

Bounty hunter outfit looks so sick. Definitely need the bandoliers!
