Uncredited voice actors and inconsistency regarding accrediting in GTA Online

I began noticing this recently, more than a month has passed since the release of the Casino update, but still we have no information regarding who voiced the central characters. I don't get why we know who voiced that quirky and marginal waiter, but we don't know who voiced Agatha Baker and Avery Duggan, which are far more important for the plot. Then i began research past DLC's and i discovered that a lot, and i mean A LOT of characters don't have an accredited voice actor, even if sometimes are very important: here a list: the aforementioned Mrs Baker and Avery Duggan, Thornton Duggan, Vincent, Alan Jerome, Bryony, Phoenicia Rackman, The Yacht Captain, The weirdo who tries to arrest Trevor in his Heist, Cliffford the Flight School instructor, and even the Assistants.

For what i know Rockstar Games always accredited voice actors, even who voiced the random NPCs. But in GTA Online there's this huge inconsistency, we know who voiced Rashkovsky, Popov or Schwartzman (all Heist "characters"), which are all random blokes which say 5 quotes and serve only as mission objectives, but we don't know who voiced the Personal Assistant or Agatha Baker, which in comparison have hundreds of lines spoken. Or central characters like Avery Duggan or Cliffford?

In your opinion why Rockstar doesn't accreditate everyone equally. And if they can't, what imposes them to not do that? What are the constraints in a voice acting contract? I'm very confused as this doesn't make any sense.

Be fair. It’s technically a casino topic since it involves the voice actors for this update. There’s also been a history of video game voice talents that are marginalized or uncredited.

 

Plus, this gives the usual suspects another relevant topic to B&M about R* (one that I actually support if actors aren’t getting their due spotlight). This thread fits in GTAF just fine.

Well, no, the topic is far more serious, we ain't talking of some broken feature in the game, or bad game design choices; i'm talking about real people: Voice Actors, which job and performance isn't accredited, in comparison to others which instead are.

And since voice actors can't be seen, we'll never know who they are and therefore their performance will never be acknowledge, thus damaging their career.

The core of the discussion : there is any rational reason of why Rockstar doesn't accredits SOME voice actors?

I also haven't seen anywhere who the voice actors for the Arena War update were. I can't think of any reason for R* to not publish up to date credits for the game.

 

Have you though to perhaps write in to their email to ask?

Oversight or the credits are out there, just really hard to find. 

 

Either way, now I feel bad for those uncredited VA’s, it’s a hard business to get into and it’s not a face you’re selling, so if you have work samples out there but no accreditation?

The video game industry is notorious for this and the voice actors guild needs stronger representation. But what can you do when it’s so one sided in the battle between the worker and the work providers?
