GTA IV & EFLC: FusionFix

There's an odd thing happening with objects on max settings, that I noticed today. Here's two screens, one made in the game and another from graphics menu:

Now take a look at two screens made with default draw distances:

Unlike the first two screens, these are identical.

It seems like, the menu settings, at least draw distance related, aren't set correctly before entering graphics menu?

I added a thing to address that in Fusion Fix, if someone wants to test it.

I've stared at this for a whilte, but I can't see a difference. What am I looking for? Wait, is it the difference in resource usage amount total? The 6144 vs 2047?

Any chance its possible to fix the automatic full weapon zoom on aiming in EFLC? that's literally the only reason why I haven't replayed it as many times as 4... so bloody annoying

Tbogt* But yeah that was a really dumb feature.

Speaking of which, any possibility of tbogt's counter attack death animation fix to IV & TLAD, as well as returning the motorcycle camera angle in TLAD back to normal/IV style? Both of these things are part of their respective episode's ID's (you can switch through them with Zolika's menu).

There's always a chance, but I've yet to replay episodes and don't remember much of what you're talking about, so you better leave these issues on github, with details and screens.

When you perform a counter attack after a dodge in IV & TLAD, the ped after falling & dying, does an additional death animation that it really shouldn't (which was fixed in tbogt). And I guess I should eventually make a github account maybe.

Wait, that was actually fixed in TBOGT? I didn't even notice that. Probably because I don't play it nearly as much as GTA IV and TLAD.

 

EDIT: I'd also like to inform you about two issues @ThirteenAG :

  1. Gang members don't turn hostile towards Johnny and ask him to leave the area when he hangs around them in TLAD, as opposed to Niko and Luis in GTA IV and TBOGT. I had already fixed that in a mod of mine a few months ago by modifying the script, and specified the lines right here.
  2. Falling off bikes, even though it's not really an issue as much as a popular annoyance among GTA IV's fans. Is it possible to create an option that controls how easy it will be to fall off bikes? Or at least making it identical to how it works in TLAD (although something between vanilla GTA IV and TLAD would be top-notch, giving the fact that Niko and Luis aren't exactly as experienced as a biker like Johnny), in case you don't have a problem with that, giving how really certain it is to fall off bikes in GTA IV (and most likely in TBOGT as well). I left an issue in GitHub around two weeks ago by the way.

On xbox this zoom thing is actually remembered by the game, so if you zoom out and then aim again, there will be no zoom. On PC it's supposed to be the same way, but the variable that is used to store that zoom flag is only set to 1 at startup and never again. To properly fix it I would need to know the function that handles this zoom.

These aren't bugs.

What about the first one as for TLAD?

 

They do ask Niko and Luis to leave the area when they hang around them for a while, and will attack them if they don't. It just doesn't happen in TLAD (very strangely, since this is the more gangwar focused game after all).

I don't know, script stuff I'd like to avoid. Not sure under what circumstances someone would introduce such "bug" only in TLAD scripts.

Zoom state in TBOGT is properly fixed, should behave exactly like on xbox now. Several ways to use that option:

AimingZoomFix - set to 1 for proper fix, so it behaves like on xbox, set to 2 to have this fixed feature enabled in IV and TLAD, set to -1 to disable this feature. 0 disables the fix, as usual.

Death anim fix is added as well:

PedDeathAnimFixFromTBOGT - when you perform a counter attack after a dodge in IV & TLAD, the ped after falling and dying performs an additional death animation, which doesn't happen in TBOGT. Enabled / Disabled

awesome! quick question though... do you think you can fix the bug that causes Niko to get stuck when buying something from a soda/food vendor? I can't seem to reproduce it consistently, but it happens when I sprint and try to buy food/soda from a vendor. niko will either walk in circles or just stand idle in front of the machine without actually buying anything, and it is very irritating when it does happen.

YES. I completely forgot about this until you mentioned it. I've manage to make it more tolerable by pausing the game for 2-3 seconds and unpausing, because for some reason that makes niko play the animation right after unpausing compared to waiting the 5ish seconds if you were to just let it hang.

 

It happens 100% of the time for me, I can't remember it ever not happening in recent memory.

TBoGT correctly rag dolls enemies after they’re KO’d by a counterattack. IV and TLAD is bugged where after they’re KO’d, they do a 3D era preset animation, which looks like they have a heart attack or seizure or something.

uncapped FPS issue from what I remember. pressing escape twice seems to help, but yeah, it's an odd one

FPS issues are at least trackable, so it's worth logging them on github after some tests done, to be sure.

It was already fixed a few days ago.

 

There's another bug that's relevant to the death animation, though. In some cases, the unnecessary death animation applies to wounded NPCs when they die. Not quite sure when exactly it happens, but it sometimes does when the camera is poisoned away from the NPC.

any idea why I have this happening? the only other mods I have is  col accel, downgraded radio stations (I looked at it doesnt seem to affect any data files though), my rebalanced weaponinfos and realistic driving.

What exactly? The dlc car lights? It's quite possible that some of them are still broken, because I only tested Schafter and APC.

ah okay, I thought all of them are fixed. Indeed the Schafter works fine, would be nice to have them all fixed, buffalo and cavalcade are the most jarring

Any chance you could fix the saxophone buskers in TBOGT? They always walk away from their position as soon as they spawn in, making it impossible to get the special ringtone for giving money to them.

Did you test all of them? It would be nice to have a definitive list of what wasn't fixed properly.

Niiiiice! I always got annoyed when the camera auto-centered. Really, wtf is R* thinking to think of sh*t like that? But then again, it proves how braindead those morons are and they still are nowadays.
