Or (speaking for myself) things to look forward to buying beyond Dynamite Arrows... same situation with GTA Online.

R* is still clueless about the fact that enjoyable, long-term game play doesn't primarily come from sales of digital trinkets that line their corporate wallets.

It comes from a wide variety of existing "lego box" elements that naturally, spontaneously allow new situations to be created by players on the fly.

Wisely keep those interactive elements coming, and you then have something that draws (and keeps) players in the game.

THEN you can think about players buying your digital trinkets.

Can you please run R* and 2K games?! For the love of god!

Currently at lvl 169, 17.8k dollars and 78 gold bars. All roles lvl 20 but the Bounty Hunter (18).

Haven't been playing consistently at all (been playing a lot of Remedy's Control, awesome game that is); played a LOT when the Roles were introduced (in the first five days or so) and then some more when Moonshiners dropped. Must have leveled something like 80 levels on those periods alone.

The roles are a great way to get XP in my experience (specially the Collector - this one also is by far the best money-making IMO, but maybe thats just me)

39701$

1385 gold bars

Rank 273

And still keep going strong hoarding those gold bars.

Oh my, how Red Dead Online would change... all they have ever had to do is get over their stubborn, arrogant selves and actually implement what the player community has been asking for since day one.

A consistently borked game says everything about the people developing it.

I think I'm at about 206GB and $16.8k currently ... I'm closing in on my 20 week daily streak for that belt buckle! Does wonders for the gold situation! 👍

About 2 - 3 hours.  Four times a week. During the holidays, missed a week or so (visiting the grandbaby) . Daily's reset.

I think that if I cash in all the stashed collections (about 30) I might crack the 275000 $ mark. Just hit rank 375, 40 goldbars short from making it a round 1600.

All that cash and gold and NO AWESOME clothing to spend it on...SHAME ON YOU R*! *sighs*

I feel loaded, but also scared as seeing how much some have and the complaints over how little there is for the long term player just how expensive things could get. Folk with a quarter of a million to burn while I've got a sh*tty 15k, lol.

I wanted to be a poor cowpoke, but at rank 71/72 and with 280 gold (and the 15k I mentioned). I feel like I do in GTA:O at the moment though, I've got what I want there and more with $100m+ just sitting there doing sod all as I just keep playing and everything I do pretty much pays something.

I do like living off the land here though, that, dailies, and the outlaw pass unlocks keep me so stacked with stuff that I hardly need to buy anything at all. I changed my main outfit back to the default crappy clothes we chose on the tutorial too, just so I look really poor, lol.

Each their own, but like you, I prefer being the poor cowpoke, very much unlike my GTAO character. I still have a comfortable stash (to me at least) of both currencies, but way less than some have here and nothing to spend it on too. And I really can't give a rats ass what others have in this game or not. :D

Sorry, I drew a blank but as I saw The Man in bold, couldn't help but smile as there's much I liken T2 to compared to WWE.

And with T2 royally messing up the last WWE game with her on the cover too. It all just made me smile. 🤣🤣🤠

Absolutely, I did similar in GTA with the bikers update before RDR2/O was even a thought. A rich CEO side that bought all top end stuff, and a poor, cheap and rough biker with all the cheapest property and using my original Lost Daemon on most jobs, lol. But once this game arrived, that grew to another level.

If the phone calls were removed in GTA, I'd have made much more use of the second character slot. That's an area I hope changes for the better here too. No nagging and a second character slot asap. No phones is a huge plus, lol. :)

I've uninstalled GTAV a few weeks ago, since I didn't have anything left to get and owned literally everything I could possibly store. That game became so stale to me that, even in comparison with RDO, I had absolutely nothing left to go for. Haven't missed it for one second. I don't have much to go for in RDO as well, btw. I shoot some screenshots and fancy them up a bit these days, combined with a daily challenge or 2. In the weekends I only do the necessary daily to keep the streak going and leave the world to the weekend warriors quick :D

Then we agree to disagree. And I respect yer opinion.

Truth be told, I did enjoy 'dressing up' in the beginning, but it just doesn't look authentic or 'cool' after a while anymore. Each their own and fortunately we can all make that choice in this game, in all good respect, of course. ;)

I joined RDO when it launched on PC, and what you see is me. My character is me, how I would look & dress in the wild west, down to the red shirt & vest I wear in real life.

I still miss the wildlife, though.

You have a point. Not trying to be a multi millionaire in RDR2. My biggest concern, is the rapid character ranking.

I started, my GTAO character on PS3 and I just hit rank 704 (character no. 2 rank 350?).

RDR2  rank 522 - one year of gameplay. And it's all down to Frontier Pursuits and the Outlaw Passes. Rockstar should allow beta players to reset rank (without losing weapons and horses).

They should have capped ranks per update. Cap ranks at, lets say, 60 for the base game and add 10 ranks per update and release rank unlocks per update too.
Now we got everything within weeks.

Since my friends and I made our return to RDO back in November (post Defensive/radar updates & Pursuits additions), I've managed to claw my way semi-casually from rank 21 to 126, $14k in the bank, 110gb and own all the 'big things'.  Not really RP'ing this character as rich or poor. Mostly just a reasonably old-west looking hombre moseying about takin care of business. Most of my enjoyment comes from spending time in the game world hanging out with buddies. It's still a work of art IMO despite the constant bugs, wonky design decisions, frustrating UI choices, etc.  I buy enough clothes to put a particular 'look' together with what I've unlocked, but I'm still pretty frugal with what I buy. Got a lot of clothes, pamphlets, guns and assorted recipies I haven't felt the need to pick up yet.

Had to chuckle at this L-M!  You have no idea how many months I blew a gasket every time I logged in, died, switched sessions, started a mission...and had to see my fancy shmancy Outfits reset to that podunk, dirt poor, fresh off the cart Tutorial outfit. Every. Single. Time.  It just wouldn't go away despite all my efforts, opening tickets with R*, flushing cache's, deleting all saved outfits, etc trying to fix it.  Of course I finally 'beat the bug' by getting some cash and putting my own Custom outfit together. And presto, once i was using a fully customized outfit the game finally defaulted to that one. My Tutorial garb has since been consigned to the dust bin of the old west.

I might have a picture of it attached to a Trophy unlock somewhere. I could put it back together just for laughs....but I think I'd just have a nervous breakdown worrying I'd be stuck with it again lol.
