I've been playing since day 1 and never done a single glitch (I learned that lesson from GTA where it took away a lot of the enjoyment from the game). Ever since the daily challenges were introduced I've done at least one ever day and for a long time did them all. My gold is currently on 1,777. That's not a stupid amount of gold either. Could have made more but lately I've eased off on the dailies because it's obvious that's more than enough and updates need next to nothing to buy them. I was on around $30,000 for a long time and a couple of months ago started collecting. As of last night my money was on $155,665. My rank has been going up fast lately because of collecting and it's now at 415. I think it would be almost impossible to figure out if someone glitched money or earned it legit just from looking at their stats if they are rank 200+. I feel sorry for the people who did glitch money. They will have to live with the fact that they cheated to get where they are and that their stats and achievement effectively mean nothing. There's no reason not to stay legit. Money, gold and xp is not difficult to earn if you really want it. My solution to kicking the habit was collecting 10 sets of everything and just saving them for a rainy day( i.e. another sell bonus, or another outlaw pass) The downside is that there's nothing left to do until they fix the other roles, so I only log in to do a couple of dailies now. I usually do a BH mission until I get dropped into my own lobby - then I just do some basic collecting (not going out of my way for anything or going for anything in particular...will just things along my paths, clear an area, etc). In that solo lobby I'll do the high price moonshine, run a couple bootlegger missions, find the Madam and sell a few pieces of collectibles that I have 10 of (drop it back to 9 - I plan on doing that until all sets are at 9, and just selling a collection or two a day and going and getting them again), then sell the moonshine when ready. My camp has a 100-trade ready to go, Crips is loaded with materials, and my hunting wagon has 2 perfect cougars and 3 perfect bucks ready to go. I have a small ecosystem's worth of fish, birds, and small game in my pouch along with countless pelts. Nowadays I typically find myself going after those "edge" animals, just to have them. Crabs. Spoonbill. Gulls. Moose. Whatever floats my boat that day. I'm not particularly interested in accruing too much wealth, just want to be able to comfortably spend on the things I want, and not be broke after. Rank: 135 Gold: 68.38 Cash: $20,140.64 As long as I don't dip below the 10k mark, I will be comfortable with my wealth in-game. Edit: It would be cool to see a stat for net worth in this game. Would add a bit of nice background information on our characters' wealth in-game: Combine the worth of our horses, maybe camp, and the estimated worth of our businesses based on sales averages and how much we've invested / bought upgrades, along with any other assets such as jewelry and weaponry. It seems that the clothing prices in gold are slowly but steadily rising. Some stuff costs 11 gb a piece. I would not be surprised if the prices will rise to 20 gb. These so called benefits are designed to drain your cash. Yes, you get a discount on stable slots, but your upkeep goes up. You get a free horse, but you will spend cash to upgrade it. R* is still clueless about the fact that enjoyable, long-term game play doesn't primarily come from sales of digital trinkets that line their corporate wallets. It comes from a wide variety of existing "lego box" elements that naturally, spontaneously allow new situations to be created by players on the fly. Wisely keep those interactive elements coming, and you then have something that draws (and keeps) players in the game. THEN you can think about players buying your digital trinkets.
