There was no new info in the 8/6 newswire and no newswire on 8/13, and nothing yesterday (8/20). Even if they choose to release info on Fridays, it's been over two and a half weeks. I'd like to see something Friday, considering the fkn beat-down they got on Twitter yesterday lol.

Problem with double gold for me, is that I have 500+ bars, & nothing to spend it on. R*, I bought everything I like so far, I have four pairs of cavalry gloves, dammit! If nothing else ,let us know what the heck kinda expenses are coming with the roles!

I think the double gold is more for the new accounts with low level characters, so they can catch up for the update. The majority of the characters are low level and need to be motivated to play or else the lobbies are empty as f*ck.

Well said, and very plausible, as it's clear it doesn't have the content to generate revenue like GTA Online.

 

IMO, R* has bitten off more than they can chew in terms of personnel needed to do justice to each game they're trying to maintain.

 

Good online games demand substantially more time and personnel resources than R* is willing to supply.

R* knows exactly what they do. They make sure they get their revenue and don't care how or from who. Their coop with Twitch is a sign they are looking for a more steady income partner. The player community probably doesn't spend enough on micro transactions and to keep the playerbase spending, you'll have to give them something new every time again. I think they've learned from GTAO not to rely on one source of income too much. They just want maximum revenue from minimum efforts.

Three to four months between major content updates isn't slow, it's pretty normal. In that area, Rockstar's support isn't low or slow or anything. They make it seem much more worse than it is because they're completely silent between updates.

...and as a result, game play suffers.

 

The only thing holding my interest in R* games is the online, open world aspect. Most everything else about them is either dead or rapidly dying.

I'm still hanging on to hunting right now, but instead of everyday I do 2 or 3 trips now its every other day and I only to 1 trip on those days. Can barely lift a finger for the daily objectives though. 

 

I hunted so much across the lifespan of online....I know I'm curious about the Bounty Hunter role, but I might fit better as a Trader.

Been doing some hunting today too. It was rather fun again, until x20010006 hit me several times with a decent load on the horse. So, today's revenue is $0 on pelts and about $30 on meat and other parts.

I'm so burnt out on hunting, gonna try the Collector first. I don't mind the actual hunting, it's the skinning/plucking animations that you can't skip or speed up, and the damn 2-3 second delay after storing something on your horse that gets old.

I've only got 2 recipes to buy,  1 ability card to upgrade to max,  and only 4 guns to customize,  and I'll only have clothes to buy . It looks like I'll be getting there just in time to begin the new stuff.  Glad to stop grinding so much.

dammit this week is jinxed. many goldbars left behind..

it started with a 5 goldbars rip-off on "bonus" day 1 , having done 7/7 before R* decided to tell us what they have in store for the rest of the 2/3 of the day

day 2 was aight , 7/7 , 10 bars

yesterday , day 3, missions wouldn't work, players were not helpful...6/7....4 bars left behind

day 4, weekend, it's posse sh*t so no 7/7  today, same tomorrow but that was expected ... now ALSO, my gold/money JUST stopped countin when I did 20/20 animals.....tried a mission right after that, no progress registred. also looting nothing.

had to quit, will see if a restart helps, this is just great... ironic, since I fall flat on gold already why not make it stop counting completely?

 

EDIT: back to normal. well, 1 bar less, who cares. day 4: 5 bars left behind . 14 bars so far, surely that sum will pile up.
