isaacster50
So on PS2 theres obviously the first release that got banned, then I dont know if they have 1.01. I know they have V2 as well, but do they have V3? And also I may be wrong about all that, if so please correct me. Now my main question is, what version is the Trilogy Edition for PS2? Because basically I bought the trilogy edition for PS2 Slim recently, say, last christmas I think... and the San Andrea's disk is scratched and got a disk read error while playing, now it wont load up. It's just a black screen. So I was thinking if I cant refurbish it, I'll buy another version. What version is trilogy edition? And what version saves are compatible with it? Because maybe I can get another version that's cheaper or better and have it work with my trilogy edition memory card save. OrionSR
Trilogy version for PS2 is probably v2. The official v2 names are Greatest Hits and Platinum Edition, but trilogy falls in the same era. Saves were compatible within the same region. PS2 never got a v3, and on PC v3 (steam) is compatible with v2 saves anyway. I noticed a 2012 PS2 Classic version too. More than likely it too is compatible but I don't have direct evidence. Check out https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/914983-grand-theft-auto-san-andreas/data for more info on versions. I'm assuming anything with a product ID that contains the digits 20946 will have compatible saves. lil weasel
Version ONE, a DVD Rated "AO" (Adults Only.) Most stores refused to sell it. A patch was released for the PC V1, (V1.01) to fix glitches, and Block the Mod (which no one can access on the PS2 version One anyway. Next was the DVD version 2, Which contains the Patch. Which is why the DVD v2 game needs a "Downgrader" to allow for use of Version One Mods in the PC v2 game. Interim releases have License required removal of music. Then the Digital Download was released, the Version 3 PC game. After that there are various tinkering with the digital Game, the worst being the updated Digital Downloads, Making the use of the GamePad unworkable of late. Due to an inability to assign the same button to different command columns. (at least in my game.) It was really easy to just downgrade and now I think getting it on steam is the way to go actually. hlennarz
Sorry to revive an old theard, but does anyone know the actual differences between v1.03 and the "Greatest Hits"/"Platinum Edition" v3.00 on PS2? The few things the later versions changed that I know of: - Removed (hidden) Hot Coffee Content - Removed the glitchy Pay 'N Spray in LV near the pyramid - Added Clucking Bell marker in Downtown LS - Changed "Life's a Beach" 's required score from 4000 to 2500 - Changed "Supply Lines" mission so the RC Baron doesn't drain fuel when idling. (- Fixed a glitch where bartenders would put their hands up even if the player did nothing and the pool table guy wouldn't show up. (found on a portuguese youtube video, might be wrong in my interpretation)] Edited April 13 by hlennarz Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/934214-gta-sa-ps2-version-differences/#findComment-1072367723 Share on other sites
