what happened to 3D Universe after HD Universe?

what happened to 3D Universe after HD Universe? does 3d universe still exists? is it gonna ever return to 3D era? tell down below.

One answer, hell no.

 

The 3D era is gone, period. If they tried to make a 3D era game right now, they will have to use an outdated engine, (Renderware), and it will be the biggest dissapointment yet.

 

P.S, you sure make a lot of these 3D era/Renderware threads. If you want 3D era or Renderware GTA games, go play them, they didn't go anywhere.

but i get bored of them and i want something new! and i love 3d era games that's why i make alot of these posts! it's just my imagination what happened there?

Just curious, have you ever tried the HD era games? Maybe try those, start with either IV or V.

Or better yet, download a PSP emulator, and play Chinatown Wars. It does a really great job mixing 3D era elements and HD era elements.

I don't understand why people say that there can't be a comeback to the 3D Universe. Rockstar could hire some other studio to make some spin-offs for mobiles that could be connected to the 3D Universe, like it was the case with the Driver series. Whether they would be canon is debatable, but heck, I don't see why not, and it sure would be a nice tribute to the classics.

If Rockstar hadn't been reduced to releasing one game every five years, I'd say a return to the 3D Universe was possible, but the current content drought makes unlikely stuff like that even more unlikely.

It's not even like the two universes are completely separate anyway, it isn't as black and white as that and there's plenty of links between them. It's more like a parallel universe thing going on. Liberty City is still there, Los Santos is still there, Vice City is still there, Lazlow is still there, all the car models and other things that make up the world are still there, it's just in different forms.

 

Just like we can still say HD Liberty City exists even though we haven't seen it since 2009 we can same about any 3D era city/game. It all still exists.

 

I don't know how they would "go back" to the 3D GTA universe exactly? They already did, they reinvented it with different city designs and characters and reset story continuity in HD. If it's just bringing characters from 3D era back I don't see any hard and fast rule as to why not if it was appropriate and they wanted to. The idea that it's IMPOSSIBLE even though multiple characters have appeared in both eras (which gets excused by a completely arbitrary "rule" that because they're featured on the radio it doesn't count - I'm not seeing the logic in that) seems to come more from fans who want to apply rigid rules to the artistic and abstract field of video games for some reason than from R* itself.

Yeah like someone else said, it's a parallel universe thing going on, right? Similar things happened in the past of the HD universe as what we saw in the 3D universe, even though the descriptions we're given are pretty loose. There's probably a Niko and a Luis and a Johnny and a Micheal, Franklin, and Trevor running around in the 3D universe doing more or less what they do in the HD universe, with some alterations to fit the setting and geography and the theming. We'll never see any of that stuff happen, obviously, but even fictional settings have a future and a past beyond what we're shown

I doubt we'll ever see a return to the 3d universe hence the rip Tommy Claude cj etc graffiti you can find in 4

 

It still exists since it's a different universe like with marvel earth 616 and 1610. 

 

My guess 2001 onward

Claude- flees back to San fierro and buys another garage with his cash maybe works for Wang cars 

 

Carl Johnson- pretty much a jay z Frank Lucas p Diddy type figure vast criminal empire and the manager to a successful rapper probably designing shoes like jay z and advertising nasty overpriced liquor 

 

Tommy- currently battling tax evasion charges in court empire is still strong but the meth and opiates trade is cutting into his cocaine profits

 

Toni- still leader of the Leone family started exercising again after he suffered a heart attack

Makes no sense Bobo. Engine used should not be linked to the characters. As a matter of fact, they could update the characters to the new engines if they didn't want to scrap everything and make room for the Fortnite generation.
