Guest Guest176525326
I’ve got the RDR(Game of The Year edition) couple of days ago from eBay(£8) for my One X and my god it looks amazing compared to the PS3/360 versions. It did not think it could look this good. Anyways, I highly recommend it, the movement does take a bit to get used to it again after RDR2, however soon enough you will feel like fish in the water again. Getting drunk and falling over stuff never gets old lol. In many ways the game has so much more character than RDR2...
Syrens
Not having my own PS4 I can still only enjoy the original RDR on my PS3 for now. I still think it looks like a beautiful game even now. ~INDIO~, Alexander Pierce and RedDeadJohn

It looks so crisp on it, all the blurriness is gone. Edited August 15, 2019 by Guest176525326
Spider-Vice
RDR1 runs at 4K and 2x MSAA on the Xbox One X so no wonder it looks impressive. It really does wonders for older games. It’s simply so good that if you were a die hard RDR fan you would have to get the One X just to experience it imo! It sounds silly, but it’s true, Xbox One X really does wonders. Guest Guest176525326
When you have a 4K TV it only makes sense to get the true 4K console and that’s the One X. PS: I’m not a fanboy, I also have the base PS4.
darthYENIK
Before RDR2 I was playing it on my X1X and it was spectacular. Thinking of getting it going for the fall season and finishing it off around Halloween with Undead Nightmare.

I finished the RDR a few days ago and the ending is still 10 times, no, make that 100 times better and more satisfying than RDR2. I'm just about to get to Mexico in Undead Nightmare, but boy oh boy has the game annoyed the hell out of me, it is so damn glitchy, I have been getting the headless glitch everywhere(cemetery/towns etc), having to reset all the time, also loads of crashes when trying to save, the game just hangs on black screen forever... definitely the most glitchest Rockstar game I can think of. Peckinpah
I know this topic is regarding RDR on Xbox One X, however, I didn't want to start a new topic just to share my thoughts/feelings here. My PS3 died on me quite awhile ago and I don't have the money to replace/repair it and I don't have the money for an Xbox One. I noticed on the PS4 start up menu that I have a free trial for PSNow, I have heard terrible reviews for how games run on the service but I thought I'd try it out for myself. Whilst I can say RDR doesn't look as good as it looked on my PS3 (from what I can remember) and it certainly doesn't look anywhere near as good as the Xbox enhanced version, it's actually decent considering I have no other way of playing it and it has been about 2 years since I last played this game and I have been desperate ever since my PS3 died to find a way to play RDR again. I know it is unlikely but god I'd give anything for a remake of this game with the current engine. I'm a huge fan of westerns be it movies TV shows documentaries or books it's a shame that with gaming you can't just pick up a game when ever you want to if you don't have the correct console or PC but I can watch the Wild Bunch or read Louis L'Amour any time I want. Maybe one day we'll be able to revisit all of our favourite old games and new, no matter what we're playing on. It depends of your telly, if you have a HD TV that can output 1080p then that’s what you get. RedDeadJohn

If you have a 1080p HDTV, then the game will still render at 4k internally and then super sample down to 1080p instead. So you'll get an even cleaner image compared to just running the game at 1080p alone. Alexander Pierce and RedDeadJohn
The N. Bellic Man
It looks almost perfect on X. Only thing that breaks the immersion is that for example in Tall Trees some of the trees are not loading correctly. They are 2D or something like that. Really ugly. It's usually when you look a bit further and/or zoom. I don't remember this from earlier playthroughs, but it's probably because everything else looks so damn perfect. I'm not complaining though. My recent playthrough with RDR and Undead Nightmare have been one of the best. And that is saying a lot. It just that these games weren't developed for the current systems so there are some minor issues that show their age. 4K is a blessing and a curse at the same time. Mostly blessing. Calrid123
I actually bought a 32" 4k UHD moitor and have a Geforce RTX 2070 Super graphics card on a new PC. So I could actually play this on 4K, but since the rockstar game apps does not remember I have bought it on another computer for some reason, unlike steam ubisoft and every other launcher out there, I refuse to pay out what would be over £100 on the game so I'll just have to enjoy it vicariously, and feel smug that I can appreciate this and am not looking at it through some crappy 1900x1200 monitor. Calrid123
Yeah my bad that was a bit random and a bit of a rant. apologies. That said though you can play at those sorts of resolutions now on PC, ie proper 4k, but I would love to see it rendered on the next gen consoles too.
