Ginput — toggling/switching targets

After searching the topic, it seems that the lock-on auto-aim can only be used with the "classic" control scheme. Have I understood correctly? I absolutely wanted to enable the "Setup 5" ('GTA IV-styled controls') for analogue acceleration, but it seems that I can now only use the free-aim.

 

The game I'm playing is GTA III (San Andreas may have modernized the controls, making my request redundant for the game).

you still have to choose classic controls in menu.
there is no auto switch between standart controls for m&k and classic for gamepad, because that wouldnt be seamless

you can try this

it adds controls similar from iv to iii and vc.
Aka manual aim when trigger is half pressed, auto aim when trigger is full press

What is the state of the Ginput-compatibility now? I'm also only using a gamepad, if that wasn't apparent.

it's made with ginput in mind. It detects IV like controls to have IV like aiming (aka the thing with triggers i already mentioned)

I can confirm that the mod works, but the camera seems to have a tendency to "spasm out" when targeting. An excellent suggestion nonetheless!

Can someone shed some light on something. I tweaked the gamepad settings but it still wont change. I am trying to use setup 5. Maybe someone can copy and paste their ini for setup 5 i could use?

 

Just recently installed GTA 3 and am trying to match the controls as close as possible to ps2/OG Xbox
