Yes still on time for release target. And yes worth getting. The performance depends as emulation part itself depends on PC aswell. Hard to tell recommended specs other than saying you need best of the best PC to run it. But it might run well by the time i release it they might optimize it.

Also guys update video is now out. Take Two i know you reading this hope you see this is just a Single Player mod so relax. But still hope we can work out a deal for trouble you caused me and such still think that was messed up for ya'll to do.

So much for that

Wait a minute....wasnt this mod got shut down because Rockstar came against it ?....also the xenia emulator is still very unoptimized with this game (fps dropping to the 10's) .Shouldnt you wait untill it gets to a stable state before working on the visuals?

I'd like to say I'm surprised but you were told this would happen if you continued and lo and behold, it happened.

Also, after watching the latter part of the video, what I said months ago could not be more true:

I mean, seeing the images and quotes they have of you in the lawsuit, you've dug your own grave.

Really, you had plenty of time. You were sent a C&D in September but continued and were caught lying about having authorisation to continue with the mod AND also talking about how you would make sure the mod is leaked if they went further.

No one to blame here but your self - and the people egging you on, cause I can't imagine you thought this was a great idea all by your self.

That's not how that works. Sorry to be blunt, but you reap what you sow.

Good luck.

I don't know how justice works in this case, but its their product, THEY get to decide if the game wil release on whatever platform.

Im confused? isnt this just a texture mod? There are improved texture mods for the PC version of the mass effect trilogy on nexusmods and even EA didnt care cuz ultimately it improved their game while they didnt have to do anything.

I still find it insane that they are gunning after him over a texture mod because THEY think it's something different (They BELIEVE it's a fan port and that it will affect Red Dead Online), and yet there's no way at all to reason with them, it's a damn texture mod, nothing illegal is happening, this is exactly like FiveM back when Take-Two and Rockstar were saying it was promoting piracy of GTAV, it pretty much seems like they can outright lie about a project and then just throw their legal team on it to ruin a persons life. I was hoping that this one not backing down MIGHT make someone up there notice that hey, this isn't at all what we're accusing it of, but nope, instead we have mods and admins on this forum gloating about Take-Two going after him and victim blaming saying it's his fault, hey, gotta stay in their good books right?

What makes it worse is that in theory they should be going after Xenia and RPCS3 if they're so worried about Red Dead Redemption being playable but they're not, because they've got the wrong end of the stick! We as a community should be helping to make this clear that this is just a f*cking texture mod and there is nothing wrong about that, I don't like John that much but damn he's not in the wrong in terms of what the project is doing and yet we have staff like @Spider-Vice and @Jason sitting around going "Well it's your own fault, should've listened to daddy Take-Two".

Is Rockstar/Take-Two's stance on this stuff way overboard and wrong? Yep, 100%. Are their methods when shutting this stuff down over aggressive? Yep, 100%. I doubt you'll find anyone disagreeing with that and personally my stance on the matter is if they have zero plans for RDR1 PC in any form then they should let fans do what they can to help keep the game alive because it's one of the all time greats but is currently only playable on 15 year old consoles, PS Now streaming (which is horrible) or Xbox One emulation.

From a legal stand point I'm not going to sit and pretend like I have any knowledge on IP law or anything of the sort so I'm not going to sit and egg people on to do something that could bring about serious life changing consequences, like say being sued by a multi billion dollar corporation. I would say that anyone who was egging him on or encouraging him to continue development of the project after the C&D is far, far more pathetic than any of the people saying "I told you so" after the news of the lawsuit broke out. What little knowledge I do have on things like this however tells me that recommending someone to take on Take-Two, whether they have a legitimate case or not, is not going to be an enjoyable experience for the people involved.

Personally speaking - and not as a member of staff because apparently we're all on Take-Two's payroll - I would have had a lot more sympathy had I not watched the video and seen the screenshots of DamnedDev's various tweets, forum posts and Discord messages where he outright lies to other members of the modding community about having authorisation from Take-Two to go ahead with the project. That kind of behaviour in my book is pretty piss poor as it can lead to getting these people in trouble for endorsing the project or assisting with development under the pretence that Take-Two have greenlit the project. If anybody else is in trouble because of this because of these lies then quite frankly I have zero sympathy for the man or his situation.

We all wish Take-Two and Rockstar were much more open to projects such as this but the reality is that they're not and as a result I'm not going to recommend to anyone that they mess about when Take-Two send C&D notices. If other people want to encourage them to mess about then that's on them, but the result of that will not be on me.

Oh by all means afterwards yeah what John was doing was a big mistake, especially if he was saying he got permission, etc, but it still sets a huge negative motion into action here, all he was doing was a texture mod, websites picked this up and thanks to bad wording made it seem like it's a PC port of RDR1, Take-Two then came crashing in with you know who (the one who has spies on this forum) threatening John and stating that he's not allowed to do a port of RDR1 and that he's not allowed to do a project that would affect/hack Red Dead Online (absolutely not possible with a texture mod, not even the same damn game!). By all means this should've been an open and shut case, it's NOT the thing they are accusing him of. Instead he's tried to rightfully challenge that and they've not bothered to get corrected here, they've thrown more money at this and threatened to ruin his life, when they're the ones in the wrong! How John handled it after, yeah, that's his fault, but we as a community really should be trying harder to reason with them instead of buying into their outright lie and nodding along as they set out to threaten and ruin ANOTHER person's life who was apart of this community.

May I remind you all again about the FiveM incident where they blamed NTA for helping piracy of GTAV? Or how about the OpenIV case where they claimed it was helping to hack GTA Online? It's getting tiring trying to help people in this community when the rich non-tax paying assholes can just spout whatever lie they want and set out to ruin people and most of you on here just nod along to it, and most gaming websites wont report on it due to the blacklisting threats, it's bullsh*t!

Some sites (including reddit) have now picked up on the lawsuit. The case file can be read here: https://torrentfreak.com/images/1-19-cv-11818-Take-Two-v-Red-Dead-191226-complaint.pdf

WHY DO

Why do modders always advertise themselves like this ?

I mean if you really want to create/mod something , do it it quietly ,then release it when it's done.

I personally don't believe he did damage in 500k $ to take two, but if they let him pay it that charge he will at least for first in his life walk, and he will be like war camp prisoner after he pay this debt :D  :D

What a disgusting read, you lot might as well disable the entire modding section of this forum if we were to follow these orders, not to mention they mistook the project once again.

John though, why didn't you stay quiet, the f*ck man, boasting about going after RDR2 is most of their ammo here.

Well, this isn't an isolated case, Take Two have been known for their scummy practices and trying to cover their marks afterwards.

Like we all know who, X who was a kid and was threatened to have his life ruined and when he tried to bring his side of the story to the public, he was contacted by Take Two right away to take it down and "put in a good word for them".

Now John who has been trying to do good for the community and improve a game that has never and WILL NEVER have PC support from Rockstar and Take Two, under the wrong idea that he was actually porting RDR to PC. There was no research from them at all, this was a mere cosmetic retexturing project.

This is disgusting, Take Two is beginning to show its cracks, how this company wants to keep a tight image towards its communities while at the same time not giving a single damn about whose lives they affect, even threatening children who did not attempt to consciously harm anything belonging to Take Two or Rockstar related.

As a long time fan of Rockstar games and generally a supporter of all game companies under Take Two, I am seriously ashamed of how they've been treating this community over time. There will always be better ways to handle such PR nightmares. But alas, money dictates everything and whatever makes Take Two even remotely fearful of a monetary loss, no matter how tiny, will get shot down without research or remorse.

P.S. I am not worried if anyone that is related to Take Two reads these posts. Despite the tidy image that has been so strongly forced upon us, it cannot be romanticized anymore. How the community is treated will eventually reflect back.

Today on "why you should sh*t the f*ck up until it's finished"

Seriously, it's like asking for a lawsuit, especially when you're messing with a company as scummy as Take-Two (the people behind GTA Online/RDO being such a grindfest). I don't see the point in bragging and advertising like it's a brand new game, like that's going to matter once they make you shut the project and throw all your time invested on it.

By the way if no one noticed when reading the lawsuit, Take-Two list 10 John Does as defendants meaning that DamnedDev did indeed bring trouble to potentially 10 peoples doors. Hopefully they just get a slap on the wrists at best if this does go through the full rigmarole.

I became fairly skeptical that this project was ever coming to life, even without T2's involvement.  Regardless, is there really a lawsuit here?  Dude made a lot of claims, said he was going to do this, and then he was going to do that, but was anything ever actually released?  I can shoot my mouth off everywhere on the internet claiming I'm going to rewrite Moby Dick, remaster Nevermind, and build a better iPhone, but if I don't actually produce anything beyond talking about it, how is that a winnable lawsuit?  Genuine question.  Probably scared the hell out of the guy and got him to stop (which I assume was T2's goal), but he's not on the hook for $500k just because he said he was doing all of this.  No tangible proof, no judgement....right?  Or are there modified files already released?

despite all the harrasment i have gone through from this guy and still am, i still feel this has to win for all of modding, it'll negatively impact modding as a whole if this is lost not to mention scare people from even trying big modprojects in the future, difficult to root for someone like that though but in this case it's not about him it's about the community.

wow, this is wild. I didn't realize any of this was happening until yesterday

since I don't follow any of this news, I have a question for the people that do...

does this furious defense of RDR1 assets indicate that a remake is forthcoming?

look at how many times the complaint specifically references RDR1 "not yet" being released for PC or reducing the interest that gamers would have in a "future version" of RDR1 for PC.

is that just legalese which lawyers use to cover all possible bases?

or can we mine any hints from this?
