Unobtainable items and inconsistency regarding compatibility in in GTA Online.

I began wondering about this after the last DLC. In this game there are a lot of items that NPCs and certain characters wear, but that the player can't obtain in any way, even if they don't cause any clipping issues, and there are tons of them: the Cop Gunbelt, the IAA badge, the Bolo tie that Avery Duggan Wears, same thing with his off white cowboy hat, NOOSE team tactical Body Armor, NOOSE Helmet with goggles on, different types of Belts (golden and silver ones), More shades of colors with suits, more neckties regimental themes, loose neckties and probably a lot more stuff. 

 

Also there is a lot of incoherency regarding how clothes are considered incompatible. First of all, i believe there's no need of a "compatibility system". i don't care of clipping, i simply care if clothes match good, let me choose if i like certain matches or not; by the way this system also behave very weirdly.

For instance there are "Fitted Suits Jackets" and "Suit Jackets", the first ones are simply jackets from a full suit, the second ones are any other type of Jacket (Double Breasted, sport coats eccetera), same classification occurs with trousers, but there's no real difference, "suit pants" are basically pants that have the same color and theme as the corresponding suit jacket, same thing with "Fitted Suits Pants". So, why i can't pair a "Suit Jacket" (Double Breasted one for instance), with a "Fitted Suit Pant"? So if i want to do a Broken suit with a Gray Double Breasted jacket and blue fitted suit pants, i can't because are treated as "incompatible",How in the World someone taught this was a good thing? How this system works?

 

Other examples of inconsistency, the Biker cuts jackets can't be worn with a long sleeve shirt, even if their models don't clip at all. You can't wear balaclavas with sunglesses, Headscarves can't be worn with anything excluding t-shirts and the list goes on.

 

I wonder why Rockstar binds us so much concerning matching and choosing clothes, why i can't wear a gunbelt or a bolo tie if their file exist in the game and is worn by NPCs, what is their logic and why would they bother if you wear clipping outfits?

You can -- you just have to put on the Fitted Suit Pants first.

 

In general I agree with your complaint, for example there is no reason why Fitted Suit Pants shouldn't be combined with most sneakers. There is no issue with clipping unlike Fitted Suit Jacket and t-shirts. I'm glad they added another style of business shirts though.

Well thanks for the advice then, but i believe you understand that it's not intuitive at all. Also this problem wouldn't even exist if you could wear everything without limitations, again why Rockstar should care if i wear clipping models? And why rockstar wouldn't let me wear a Gunbelt or a IAA Badge?, which models are already present in the game?

I got into clothing glitches just because I wanted sneakers with fitted pants.

 

Most of the other stuff I tried lead to clipping though, and I don't want clipping on my char's clothes so I'm fine with Rockstar preventing most of it.

 

As I understand most glitchers want stuff that looks obviously weird. I don't think the gunbelt and IAA batch were as popular if they weren't obtainable only by glitches.

Everyone should be free to wear everything the game has to offer, even if items clip with each other, let me decide if clipping is a problem or not! Also why i can't wear a Gunbelt or a cop outfit, whats wrong with it ?

I wish they would just let me buy a cop outfit, paramedic outfit, military outfit, etc.
I know for a fact theres quite a lot of people that would actually be happy to pay good money for those, simply for the fun of roleplaying, just the other day i ran into two random players playing as cops, announcing 'crimes' committed by other players to chat, requesting backup, army or navy support, etc, i had fun helping them deal with some criminals lols.

Sneakers with a suit is fine, as long as you are only wearing the jacket with blue jeans.

 

Fashion for the current younger generation appears to have come full circle from past generations. It's now anti-fashion.

 

It apears to be a contest to outdo each other in what looks the most appalling combined with something else, and ensuring as many color and pattern clashes as possible.

 

It's like watching a convention of people dressed as Opi from Family Guy.

 

I wish the females had been that unchoosy when I was that age. I'd still be a virgin if I dressed like a parrot threw up on me.

Well yes, but i think it's irrelevant, the real issue is why we can't wear certain things like we want to, is so... Frustrating. I wanted to do a Desert garb look like this: https://imgur.com/CV1AFO7, so i simply needed a biker cut, a long sleeve shirt, the desert garb and sunglasses, well i can't because Biker cuts are incompatible with long sleeve shirts ! But the joke is: you have no problems wearing it over short sleeved ones! You gotta me sh*tting me. If they DON'T clip in any way, why the programmers wrote the game in a way you can't wear them ?

There are a lot of silly things with the clothing though and ways around it. Can't wear glasses and/or hat with a mask? Can if you do a glitch. It's not even a glitch per say, just doing something totally ordinary but in a unusual way. Now the iaa badges... Require doing something you wouldn't just stumble across. And yes they clip to hell on certain outfits. But at end of the day they are still obtainable. Anything rockstar REALLY doesn't want you to have they blacklist. Cop outfit anyone?

Indeed, i actually did the glitch to obtain the IAA Badge, but i couldn't get the gunbelt. It's so stupid, but they are still obtainable trough unpleasant ways. Then there are things that you can't even get trough glitches, but that are in the game like the Bolo Tie or Cop Outfit, why i can't get them?

I mean, if they didn't want you to have IAA badges they'd be blacklisted and disappear from the outfit. If you manage to glitch the cop outfit on, it will disappear. The IAA badges don't, so they can't really mind. It's like vehicles. Glitch a cop car into a garage it will disappear. Glitch a slamvan in now it's off the blacklist and it won't. But you'd have to check other places for the ins and outs of all that.

Yeah, that sucks. Looks like you can only get it by glitching. (Transfer and merge components glitch)

How is dressing up as a cop, paramedic, fed or a garbageman worse than running around in a full on Superman, alien, martian, Pogo, cultist, or terrorist/tryhard themed outfit?!

All the outfits should be available to purchase

Or at least, let us unlock them through special means.

 

You can dress like CHiPs in SP, and Grup Sech officers.(Firemen too, but you don't keep them for some odd reason) Don't see why we can't have that Online....

Who f*cking know why r* does anything? It seems like they got people making changes without even consulting other devs. For all we know, player character clothing is basically an after thought. For the past couple years, the majority of new clothing is reskinned and heavily pixelated. Hey but that NPC over there? They get unique sh*t because it builds atmosphere.
