I'm not an expert in dupe glitches but I don't think any of them involve stealing a car.

PVs have an ID of sorts, meaning that you can sell all your legit PVs without being flagged, but still not reccomended. As for dupes, since you are selling cars with the same ID, the system automatically flags you and puts a cap without telling you, and if you keep going you get limited until you can only sell one car every 24 hours. The best way to sell dupes is one every hour and never more than nine dupes every 24 hours.

Sorry, OP, but you're flagged for at least a year

well, it's kinda like money laundering. you don't go full retard and put your drug money in the bank, unless you want the IRS coming for your ass. Selling duped cars is next level metagame: you have these illegal goods and you can use them to get money, but if you get caught you get punished, so you need to be careful getting them and selling without raising any suspicions. I think it's great, GTA economy created actual "crime" within the game, and people like OP got busted by R*ckstar

It doesn't matter, this system can't tell the difference. It'll catch careless dupers (like the OP) AND burn legit players.

I don't think there's a way. It's a profiling implemented by R* and legit players can't get rid of their own legit cars if they want to.

Yep. Never selling more than one PV per day, lol. Luckily I was here befor the one bigger garage refreshing I did so no issues, just gotta waste time waiting to get fully stuck in.

Took a few days to trim down my CEO armoured vehicles and some classics before and it's so boring taking so long to make room for new content. Along with garage limits frequently being hit, it's not uncommon that I get a bit grumpy when I know I have to wait to get rid of some old stock.

@Lonely-Martin Its a giant pain in the ass. I'm in the midst of a spring cleaning, Its been dragging on for 17 days now and I'm not done yet.

This process would've taken 30 minutes max before Gunrunning, Grrr.

I'm planning on selling everything on my original character, deleting it and starting a new one at level 120 because I have to many properties and costs, I had no idea I could get in trouble for selling vehicles that were bought legit.

I went through exactly that.  I was down to where I would only sell a couple a day because I hit the limit.  All legit cars.  In fact I ended up just writing off about 10 cars & bikes because the process was so ridiculous.  Now I’m very choosy what I buy and will never have the collection I had even though I have almost all the supers again.

Keep in mind you will lose your achievements like chrome paint options ect if that stuff is important to you.  I had to go win 50 stunt races again and go around hitting the stunt jumps in the lobby to get certain paints back.

Yes, the system caught me out too. First of all after the Executives and Other Criminals update when we got the 60-car showroom where I decided to sell everything from my second character to buy it all back on my first. I was dupe detected, WTF! But I have since been guilty of duping and can't really complain about being limited on that second character or having my plates removed. However, what I don't understand is why so many of you are at the threshold of only one car every 30 hours? If you don't regularly glitch or sell large amounts of cars, the threshold drops back to two cars, four cars and so on. I can now sell four cars without problem in succession, which is the maximum I ever need.

My advice is as follows:

  • If you're going to dupe/glitch, do it on your second character so that you don't run out of garage space due to all that stock ready to be sold. Sell one car on your second character every 30 hours and maybe don't sell anything else for several days, just to give yourself a bit of room. Once you can sell two cars consecutively, try to sell a third car but DO NOT sell it even if you're allowed to. This means that you're out of the maximum threshold loop. Now, be conservative in your sales and remember not to sell too many cars per day, even personal or legit cars.

I don't know what's more absurd, a system specifically designed to deter dupe glitches also affecting legitimate players or that said system is so easy to bypass and has done jacksh*t to actually deter duping.

That and how many other glitches like godmode are found when folk look to do these things. Once on one of them sites, there's an awful lot more than duping messing with fair gamers, lol.

Made even worse when R* themselves leave things broken like not being able to lock on to an incoming Oppressor or whatever that was. (I rely on others complaints as I ain't been out in public since that Ruiner 2k took the piss and Gunrunning arrived).

Seventh year though, lol. :panic:

The system is dumb but hasn't every duper in this thread said they've been caught by it?

Well, yeah, but it's not like that stops them from duping or anything, it just lets them get rid of their dupes at an snail's pace.

I’ve had this problem on my second profile as as they expand the vehicle limit I’ve bought many cars on my main profile and then sought to sell on my second.

I gave up after a while as it just didn’t let me sell big quantities of vehicles.

Ive done nothing untoward on that profile at all ever...just unlocked the upgrades 2 times again for cars and grinded heists to raise car money.

I do recall being able to sell cars bought from websites more easily than ones stolen off the street though.

and @Jenkiiii I needed to shift mountains of cars across two characters on my Harold Finch profile.

Would of been easier to simply remove ability to sell cars completely. But they can't as it would upset the entire community. And even with the anti-duping scripts no matter who is affected, people still can sell 1 car per 30 hours. So the "punishment' for duping really isn't a punishment, its just slowing people down like every other thing they slow down but refuse to actually fix. Like when the armored kuruma was patched in pac standard finale to slow people down who were repeating the finale 6 times an hour.

You know what I find more funny than the absurdly easy bypass system to selling dupes?

Rockstars ability to patch a dupe glitch, and a new one popping up 7 minutes later that is basically the exact same glitch. At this point, they may as well just nuke the arcade because they will never solve this problem.

Maybe if R* let us f*cking trade stocks we wouldn't have to resort to GRAND THEFT AUTO.

It puts dupers on the level of AFKers.

Is that the norm? Because it doesn't apply to me, but maybe to you and others? I have been in the one-car-a-day club on multiple occasions on my second character (and hence my first), but by being patient and only duping what you really need, you eventually leave it, probably because you're not selling cars on that second character very often.

It needs to be repeated, folks, but use your head and DO NOT dupe or sell dupe-detected cars on your main character. I have friends who lament and bemoan not having license plates and decent sell limits, who even destroy cars in order to make space for new ones. They have all duped on their main character. Not only that, but when racing you have to scroll through dozens of dupes in certain classes. I think what happens is that players get lazy or really short of cash because duping requires something really expensive such as the Arena, Facility or MOC to get started, so they use what they have instead of forking out 10 million on their second character, but that's the way it works: you have to make that investment to avoid all the ugliness of duping on your main character. Not only that, but the statistics are all there on the Rockstar Social Club under "CAR SALES". On my main character, "CAR SALES" reads 88.1 million, which is totally natural.

Interesting comment because I’ve wondered about this.

I’ve spent plenty of time on afk, do you consider that cheating or glitching?

I don't really have an opinion on it. My intent wasn't to equate the two on a "moral" level. Rather if Rockstar is incapable of fixing dupe glitches, which seems to be the case, then they're probably happy with the result of slowing these down to the pace of other not perfectly legitimate money making means.

not me 😎

while i retired from duping for profit a few years ago, i was never hit by a hard selling limit, i also never when crazy cashing in my dupes, except for 1 time i unloaded like 46 on a single session 🤣

i normally save dupes and sell them when short in cash or need the garage space, but right now theres so much garage space i'd go crazy if i get into the duping game again. to this very day i still have a couple of og adder bonds from the billionaires era.

Yes that is the norm, so either you're very lucky or you haven't been in the one car club. I've never hit my sell limit so it doesn't apply to me, did my homework from the start 😊

Sell limit is shared between both characters so shouldn't matter who you're selling from, dupe detection is not shared between the characters iirc 😊
