So have you guys figured out how to make multiple people follow you in free roam? Is it even possible? I noticed one of jedijosh's videos had 1907 Dutch following John around (I believe it was one of his), and was just wondering if it's possible to use your save editor to also make several people follow you around. I ask because, while the recently discovered glitch is amazing, I fear it may disappear soon, and I would also like to be able to choose who and how many people come with me. And, not gonna lie, the bear video makes me want to lead a roaming pack of bears and terrorize the landscape.

Couple of other questions I have for you guys actually:

1. Have you seen any files for models of Mac and Jenny

2. Have you ever considered model swapping Davey onto Arthur? I think that would be awesome to see. We know for sure he has a model at least.

Hi, I wanted to know if this mod is still in process or was canceled? I was seeing these images that I found on Twitter and WOW is AMAZING!

And the John's moment in this video, my respect for jedijosh!

great news guys!

now it's possible to spawn proper John's variants on pc version of the game. use these 2 mods together:
https://www.mod-rdr.com/files/file/7-lennys-simple-trainer/
https://www.mod-rdr.com/files/file/12-rdr-2-outfit-changer/

now, I must say it's not possible to mix and match everything. it is possible to spawn young John from chapters (ass well as older John from epilogue, Arthur and every other npc) via Lenny's trainer.
then you can choose one of the possible outfits (no mix and match currently) for that ped using Outfit changer.
then you can spawn player's components (John's, Arthur's, as well as male online protagonist's, but not npc's) on top of your current ped. this still gives you a lot of cool options to mix and match. here are some variants I made:

PRDR3959569828-1.jpg

you can see open Thompson vest is still in game files. Flannel overshirt has a different model on that image as well, as it fits perfectly underneath this variant of vest, while regular one clips into it.
also, this hat on the last image is a stolen hat which yet no one has found as far as I know.

one more thing: this is another variant of John's hair I found:
PRDR31184670956-1.jpg
here you can see what happens if you replace npc head model with one from epilogue - it is not perfectly aligned and in that case it is best to replace torso, and maybe some other components as well.

But can you just put the johns hair on his épilogue model ? ;)

you can spawn John from chapters, and then spawn all player components except the hair.
in that case, you will have John from epilogue and hair from chapters.

sadly, spawning via trainer gives you different look only temporary, because it will return to original as soon as you go to wardrobe, change outfit via horse, or go to mission. Also a lot of dialogues will be broken while using mods via trainer.

I'm waiting for some openiv support, so I can work on my proper John mod which will replace stuff, so they will work always. my plans are:
- replacing right parted level 7 hair with John's hair, possibly add more shorter variants if they exist in files

- replacing some outfits I don't like (like Brawler's outfit, Ruffian, etc.) with John's clothes from chapters. at least I need to have his black shirt, yellow vest, grey shotgun coat and blood-stained coyote scout jacket

- adding more outfits like elegant suit, also some clothes based on RDR1 outfits
- fixing his pants and gloves

more news:

with the newest patch for both Lenny's simple trainer and Outfit changer, now we can dig deeper into player's component files and check different variants (like lengths of beard, different collars and sleeves for shirts, etc.)

PRDR3188071951-1.jpg

good news are that both John's unbuttoned variant of gunslinger vest and OG ranch pants (that doesn't look like bootcuts) are still in game files. ranch pants are just variant of them (like tucked/untucked), so swapping these will be such an easy fix when we got openiv support.

now, regarding vest.. like opened thompson vest, it works well with specific variant of cassimere shirt, while with other variants it clips into it. however, both of these will be possible to fix with modeling via 3ds max if we got a gims plugin for it.

sadly, I couldn't find OG variant of John's gloves (before R* ruined them), but I found those - this is a model of range gloves which is used when player wears a coat. it's not the same, but could be good enough. I know modding hand models in 3ds max is pretty hard. I guess we shall see..

I can confirm there is no OG John's hair in player's model, I checked all lengths and variants. you still need to spawn John from chapters and then apply player's component on top of it, so they will replace npc components.

another interesting find is that Arthur's Everyday shirt is the only variant of everyday shirt that has one extra variation, so it can be unbuttoned a bit more (in the similar manner as cassimere shirt). that variant is specifically used for his gunslinger outfits and cannot be accessed via in-game menus.

How do you apply player's component on top of John NPC model?

using Lenny's trainer (F5 key) you can spawn any model, so I chose cs_JohnMarston (npc John).

then using Outfit changer (F2 key) you can spawn any player's component and it will replace current component, no matter if it's by npc or player. So you can leave only npc hair if you want or half of the npc model and combine it with player model. you can also spawn male online protagonist's components, but these work a bit weird because his skeleton is a bit different.
also, any npc can wear player's hats this way.
you can experiment even more and try to combine let's say Sadie with female online protagonist, but  most of the npcs has different skeleton, so it would look weird.

I'll never get over how cool it is seeing John re-envisioned in a future-generation prequel, especially with the proper clothing mods.

This looks like young John in the screenshots, do you think there will be a way to have Epilogue John with his NPC hair? Even without all the hair growth stuff do you think it's possible.

no, this is epilogue John. the only npc stuff I kept on him are hair, belt and skeleton/animations (you cannot replace skeleton via these 2 trainers, I wonder if he will act way different if you could).

yeah, I know he looks younger here, but it's the hair really. you can see what happens when you replace the head few posts before.
a better option would be the hair from pre-release screenshots, which is a bit shorter, but I believe it's gone forever. we will know more with openiv support for rdr2.

Oh Jesus, I've known for a year that John looked superweird in RDR2 with his OG outfit, like he had way too broad shoulders and strange gloves, but now I actually realize it's the pants being way too damn tight lol, like how the hell could he even fit into the ones he gets in game. Wish this would be achievable easier so that he doesn't look like an abomination if you put on the classic outfit.

well, he does have broader shoulders than in chapters. I compared his coyote scout jacket from chapter 2 with the one from trapper, and it's not nearly the same. but's that's fine by me, as epilogue John looks older than in chapters, but younger than in RDR1, so it's natural his posture has changed.

yeah I know right now it's just messing with the trainers, but this will be an easy fix with new version of openiv. sadly, no love for console players.

That's sick. So in cutscenes in stuff all that stuff stays on him properly? No glitchness?

sadly no, it goes back to normal - whatever outfit, hair and weapon equipment you had before applying stuff via trainers.

also, this is still considered as John from chapters if I keep the hair, even though I can replace every component for one from the epilogue - and because of this a lot of dialogues are broken.

but it's still cool to dig into files before we got openiv support. when that happens, we can make a great John mod which won't affect gameplay in any way.

The outfit changer mod is so good, I'm surprised there's not an entire thread dedicated to it yet. People posting their outfits and what-not.

You can use it to wear Arthur's Winter Gunslinger coat closed, like in the prologue.

There's this other brown Classic Frock Coat variant which is slightly tattered with red detailing. I don't think I've ever seen it in the game before. Wondered if maybe it was a beta jacket for Arthur or something.

well, there are a lot of trainers already, and we lost John's topic about hair, so this is the only one right now. I don't bother with opening new ones, as long as something similar exists already.

yes, Arthur closed coat works well with his gunbelt, because his gunbelt is the only one that has another variant, so it can stay firm on the coat.

His gunbelt also works well with Jonh's closed coat from chapter 1 and with Pinkerton outfit as well.

if you think about beige worn out Classic Frock Coat with "red wine" color details, that's a part of an outfit you get as a reward from item request by Uncle at the end of the game.

Wow, they actually used the proper Marston vest + pants as an outfit for your Online character in the new Outlaw Pass, meaning you look more like John Marston in Online than you do as John Marston. What the hecc Rockstar ;-;
