Terrorbyte, Worth it?

I am considering the purchase of a Terrorbyte. Those who have one, would you buy it again if you didn’t have one? Or is it a waste of money? Looking for all perspectives

It's definitely worth it. Work is easy peasy and $30K a pop, even better when it's double GTA$$ - I've made a vast amount of fortune from it.

Absolutely.

If I had to start over right now, I'd even consider buying the cheapest nightclub and a Terrorbyte as my first "business". Alternating VIP work and Terrorbyte client jobs are a great source of income (and both can be done in Invite-Only sessions). Also it would annoy me at this point if I had to go to my office to start warehouse missions.

It’s ability to absorb an insane amount of rockets. Also you can source ceo crates with it and drive it there instead of going to your office.

The Terrorbyte serves as an operation hub for all 8 business types; Vehicle Cargo, Special Cargo, M/C Club Businesses(Weed, Cocaine, Meth, Counterfeit Cash), Supplies and Air Freight Cargo, alongside Paige's Client Jobs. They can be accessed and triggered on the touchscreen tablet within the truck module.

If installed, a Turret station provides access to the multi-lock missile battery, which offers defensive capabilities and can lock on five different targets at once.

The optional Drone station provides access for a surveillance drone in an area within the truck and will be deactivated when it is out of the signal radius and have a one-minute cooldown until another one can be deployed again.

  • Drones have a booster that lasts for four seconds and takes 15 seconds to recharge.
  • The stun gun has the effect as its weapon counterpart and takes 12 seconds to recharge.
  • A self-destruct sequence that makes the drone explode, serving as a remote explosive.

The optional Weapon Workshop gives the same functionality as the ones from the Mobile Operations Center and the Avenger.

The truck's Specialized Workshop is the only place where the Oppressor Mk II can be upgraded. The Oppressor Mk II is the only vehicle that can be upgraded and stored in the Weapon Workshop.

Personally i never really use it, besides for the occasional fun of zapping unsuspecting players with the drone thats so tiny they never see it coming, i liked the ability to source CEO cars but it gave me 2 mid tier when i had a warehouse set up for top tier only, havent tried it since, that might've been 'fixed', or it might've actually been intentionally like that, idk. If you can wait till tomorrow (and are an avid user of car import/export) i can test for ya in idk, 12-14h

  • The ability to start client jobs, especially the two that require the drone upgrade. The jobs themselves don't actually require the drone though and can be completed in around 3 minutes for $30k.
  • The ability to start warehouse source missions. Especially if you park your TB outside of an apartment with an active heist invite, you can then start a source mission or client job from anywhere on the map in like 20 seconds.

I’ve heard when it comes to restocking your business supplies, you can only steal them from the TB and not buy them. Is that true?

You can, but it makes more sense to buy supplies, provided the business in question is fully upgraded.

If it isn't upgraded, then it still doesn't really make sense to steal supplies, when you can make more $/min with client jobs.

A non-upgraded business produces equal or less amount of product than the cost of supplies.

For example, a non-upgraded bunker produces $75k worth of guns from a full bar of supplies, which would take 3-5 steal missions to fill. So you'd have to do 3-5 steal missions and 1 sell mission for $75k, or you could do 2 client jobs and 1 VIP work for $80k.

TByte is on sale, it's a very useful vehicle for grinding Client Jobs, crates, and Import Export cars.

I've measured that it saves approximately 30 seconds per crates source mission compared to using the office.

That doesn't seem like much?

Multiply that 30 seconds X 37 runs minimum to fill a large warehouse.

Then multiply that by the amount of large warehouses you're filling (10 in my case on both characters).

It's a huge time saver.

Then wait and sell the crates off when there's a 2X week on them = around $54 million in one day (all done solo as well).

Client jobs have been 2X quite a few times since After Hours, at $60,000+ per mission, it's great money, easy missions, and they don't take much time.

If you have the nightclub already, it's a must have.

If you don't have the nightclub, it will cost you a fair amount to get set up and running at peak efficiency, but you will make that money back surprisingly quickly.

edit: also the garages are on sale as well, a very good time to get rolling.

I can't recommend the whole set up enough for legit money making.

What do you have in the way of businesses/upgrades? They should always take priority over a limited-use truck. It's helpful, but not essential.

Oh yeah totally. You get new missions from Paige Harrison which give you 30k give or take, and you have a few cool little nick nacks in the nerve system if you fully upgrade it. Drones, albeit kinda useless for the most part, are just fun to mess around with. Especially in free roam to fool around with other players. There's also a weapons work shop so you can upgrade weapons and buy ammo. The SAM Turret upgrade is....Meh. it can lock onto multiple targets which is cool but the rate of fire is slow and it takes forever to lock on. I saw a youtube video where the rockets can lock onto on-foot players. Haven't tested this out yet but it can be useful for targets on the ground. There's also a player scanner which doesn't have much practicality, it's just for sh*ts and giggles.

Essentially, it's a mobile office with other nifty things inside. Also, a handy little tidbit is that you can enter and exit the Terrorbyte's nerve system (The cab) without completely getting out of the vehicle. So you can switch from driver seat to the back with ease.

Not to mention that you can also store your Oppressor MKII if you decide to get one.

I personally think it's fantastic for grinding. You can source vehicles from it with little to no cooldown, source crates for your business, resupply your MC businesses(Steal supplies, not buy unfortunately), and you got a a few extra missions from Paige which give a good payout. So worth it in the long run.

Basically what the MOC should have been.

That is true, you can NOT use the Terrorbyte to buy supplies, it only lets you steal them. I use mine for client jobs (only when double) and modifying the OP mk2. I usually buy my business supplies, so in that aspect it only has limited use for me.

I will use the Terrorbyte for CEO crates and Import/export, to save myself a trip to the office.

Also, those who solo grind (at least for collecting), what’s your schedule look like? Such as:

1) TB Mission

2) Buy Crates (x3)

3) Headhunter

4) Source car

5) Etc.

eventually looking to completely fill vehicle warehouse and 5 large warehouse for 2X week. Just trying to make money while also collecting crates and stuff.

Then go for it. Buy the Terrorbite. Actually regret wasting my money on the MoC, didn't know that the Terrorbite have everything the MOC have and more.

Kinda related, and sorry for "hijacking" the topic, but which Nightclub should I buy? I have 5.6 Millions stored in, but I'd rather not go below 5Mil and I'm not sure if I can grind all the needed money.

It's actually pretty easy.

I filled 10 crate warehouses and the vehicle warehouse, tedious but it's not difficult.

I'd focus on getting crates since that's the most tedious and time consuming.

Single crate warehouse:

1) buy 3 crates

2) Client job

3) buy 3 crates

4) VIP job

repeat

Multiple crate warehouses ( between 2-5. recommended):

1) buy 3 crates

2) buy 3 crates for next warehouse

repeat for each warehouse in sequence, always do them in some easy to remember order, it's much less confusing after you've been at it for a while

3) in between do a Client job if you need a break or have to wait on a cooldown

When doing I/E I focus on sourcing a car, then do Client and VIP jobs until I can source another car.

You can almost entirely fill a vehicle warehouse with top range cars, but it fairly tedious. I have 36 in mine and can't seem to get any more.

Set it up to only source top range, fill it up, then sell off the lower ones and source cars as you go, keeping all the top range you get.

Also don't forget the nightclub and any businesses you have running, you'll need to sell off stock at appropriate times.

When not running crates (I always just stockpile 'em and wait for bonus weeks):

1) Client Job (Diamond Shopping)

2) VIP job (Headhunter)

3) Client Job (Targeted Data)

4) VIP job (Sightseer)

5) Client Job ((Robbery in Progress)

6) VIP job (Headhunter)

As an alternate for the VIP jobs I do Hostile Takeover when the cooldowns are still running, it pays less, but it's quick and easy.

You can also substitute Casino Work jobs in place of the ones you like least, the pay is less but the variety is nice and you get chips from most of 'em.

There is a ton of versatility using the truck to start jobs, just do what you enjoy most so you don't burn out: crates are the biggest burn out risk, 10 warehouses takes a LOT out of you, but the payoff is great.

I paid full price for the club, truck, MkII Oppressor, storage and garages, and still feel it's some of the best spent GTA money ever.

Tons of enjoyment and I've made a LOT of money!

I started After Hours with a little over $30 million, and had over $311 million just before Casino dropped. I still have over $301 million.

If you don't mind the extra work (and it WILL seem like work after a while) it is well worth it.

It will take a minimum of 37 X 3 crate runs to fill a large warehouse.

It's one of the best ways to make a LOAD of money, and it's worth it to buy now and prepare for later.

Don't skimp on the locations, the better warehouses allow faster access and slightly better sell mission locations.

I recommend checking out a crates guide on youtube: The Professional, Tylarious, GTA Series, etc are good sources: no crap, straight info.

That way you'll know the ups and downs of the business.

Basics you probably already know, but in case you don't: it will cost $666,000 to fill one warehouse with regular crates, and when sold at 2X you'll get $4,440,000 per warehouse.

Each new warehouse will run from a bit over $1 million to (if I remember) a little over $2 million for the best one, so the first big sale run you'll make less, but you'll still net a big profit regardless.

I believe even accounting for the average time spent, it's still one of the best if not the best return per minute in the game.

The sales are pretty easy, and usually only take between 5-10 minutes each max.

If you get the rare items during your sourcing just store them, they'll sell for double money as well, and you can sell all of them from one warehouse in one sale.

It's tough to try  and keep them all in one warehouse, I didn't bother, but it would make selling much more efficient, I had a few in 3 of my warehouses and the sales take just as long as selling a full 111 crates.

Don't forget to upgrade the delivery vehicles from the menu available in the warehouse (I didn't know this until fairly recently).

This will give the vehicles increased armor and better speed, you can choose which you apply, and you may not really need the armor if you play solo, I bought it just in case.

The extra speed for the tug is very nice, and armor for the planes is handy.

Also note: you don't need to upgrade the vehicles until just before you sell, so if those upgrades go on sale between now and the next 2X week, you can certainly wait until then.

If they don't go on sale, buy them before you start selling.

You'll only need to do the upgrade once, then you have it forever for all missions.

As I said, crates are a LOT of work to set up, but on sale day after it's all over, you'll be looking at a huge boost in your bank account.

And it's pretty easy to sell all of it solo.

If you get in trouble with the helos attacking or if the plane drop glitches out, just close the game or switch sessions before the product is destroyed and you'll only lose 3 crates.

Source those 3 crates in the next session and then sell again.

The 3 truck sales are easy, and the tug is actually one of the fastest and definitely the easiest, since it's only one drop and you may not even have enemies attacking.

Easy money!  🙂

This.

To add, it also allows you to procure cars, crates and air cargo (if that is your thing) without having to run across the map to start a new job. For me it comes in handy when I'm grinding I/E cars since my car warehouse and office are a city apart.

Added bonus: Drone Strikes.

I'd get one closest to your apartment with an active heist. Examples: Del Perro Heights Apt -- Del Perro NC, Alta Street Tower -- Strawberry NC, Eclipse Towers -- West Vinewood NC, ...

The real costs for a nightclub are irrespective of the location, namely the businesses you want to link to it (warehouse/hangar, bunker, coke, meth, cash), the 4 extra technicians, the equipment upgrade, the full warehouse storage upgrades, and the Pounder Custom plus upgrades.

Do the Terrorbyte allows me to source 3 crates solo at the same time in all the Crates Missions?

Example: From the Office, in many crates missions, if I chose to source 3 crates, I could only pick 1 crate per time, drop it on the warehouse and pick the other.

If with the Terrorbite we may have to pick the crates one by one when we source 3 crates, for me I believe will not be worth to have it, because I have an Hydra and I can go fast to the office from the warehouse anyway.

You still get exactly the same source missions: some will be single van runs, while the majority will be single crate fetch jobs.

That is where the 'work' part of come in, and it is tedious, but you'll forget all that when it's a 2X bonus week and you're going to make a really big score when you sell them all.

At least you have the opportunity to position the truck in a better spot to start the source missions and save time that way as well.

It is faster than using the office in every way, and over the course of that many crate runs, a little time saved each time really adds up.
