Are these specs not good enough?

I know both GTA IV and V seems to be very demanding in terms of computer spec to run GOOD without turning graphics settings to the lowest, but I feel like the performance I get seems bad even for the setup of my PC. I've seen youtube videos from others with similar specs that the game appears to be running more smooth than it does for me.

For me it can occasionally run smooth, but alot of the time it's kinda laggy, but not the type of lag im used to. The lag kinda makes the game go "slowmotion" in a way. It's kinda difficult to describe. And I don't have the settings maxed out at all. It happens mostly in the city.

Specs:

- Win 7 64bit

- Intel i5-3550 - 3.30GHz

- 16GB Ram DDR3 666 MHz (Two of the original Ram cards are 666 MHz while two later added cars are 1600 MHz)

- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (although Speccy claims there is only 2048 physical/virtual memory?)

In the graphics settings it says I'm using 3xxx mb / 6xxx mb, so I'm guessing it's something else that's the weak point here. Old/outdated CPU?

The whole thing is kinda old, with the exception of recently added RAM and replaced graphics card since my old one died.

pRoblem is most likely processor (i5) and graphics card. If you wanna run it smooth you better get a miore modern video card. with 8 gig of vram-and i7 or i9 processor.

Ive been there man, it was hell playing it on old laptop

More modern graphics card? Wut. This is way more modern than GTA V is.

You can't compare a laptop to my computer either.

But yes I suspect the CPU is outdated by now.

It's missmatched ram causing the issue, your ram speed is always governed by your lowest speed ram module so your ram is to slow, remove the old 666mhz sticks and try it with just the higher speed ram 8gb is fine to play gta.

Your Gpu is fine for 60 fps high 1080p play.

Your i5 is a bit old but should be fine.

I bet it is 100% better if you remove those 666 sticks

remove the 666mhz ram, its slowing the 1600mhz down, and there is always the possibility of conflicting drivers since you replaced the GPU. I always go with a clean install but using DDU can be usefull.
