AmyStone
I've recently switched from strange medicine to cold blooded just to see if it makes any difference. Can't say that I've noticed any difference. I know that strange medicine will give you instead health regain when you get a headshot but your health regenerates slower generally. Cold blooded gives you extra health over a few seconds with a headshot but you regain health at normal rate. Which do you use and why? IamCourtney
I haven't played in over a month, did they tweak these cards? When last I played headshots weren't required for either one; SM instantly restored a small chunk of health instantly with every hit at the cost of less passive regen, CB restored a larger chunk of health over a few seconds after a kill. In any case, I've spent some time playing with both at tier 3 and the difference isn't generally huge, but more situational. SM is better when you've got a lot of people to shoot at (who are probably shooting back at you) like Showdowns or missions/hideouts since passive regen isn't much of a factor. When the firing is almost constant, some health NOW is better than more in a few seconds, and if you kill another enemy while CB is still regenerating you from the kill before, you gain nothing since the effect doesn't stack. But since I mostly play in free roam, I use CB more because most of my fights there are over in one or two hits followed by a long period between the next engagement, so the greater regen over time is more valuable. Yeah you don't need a head shot to activate either one of these perks and you've basically hit the nail on the head. As stated before just use the card that fits the situation. I like to use cold blooded in freeroam since I sometimes fall off my horse or get damaged from other factors that aren't due to NPCs or players. Strange medicine is really good for story missions or pvp though where combat is a constant just know that you get a larger amount of health instantly from headshotting enemies than body shotting them while cold blooded is a fixed amount every time. Xtf
I've tried them both, together and individually, didn't notice any change to survivability at all so stopped using them. Felt like I was getting more out of never without one than either card.

I can't go without having cold blooded equipped because the health regen has saved me more times than I can count. Paired with slow and steady and you become the devil incarnate for NPCs as all you have to do is stand there and kill everything that so much as twitches
Ronzilla.
Cold Blooded only works great vs AI imo. Strange Medicine works great vs players, especially when using free aim (defensive or slippery) and getting in long range shoot outs. Neither is ideal for CQC shotgun situations.
