GTA V (retail) STUTTERS AND TEXTURES DISSAPEARING

Hello GTA community,

I contacted Rockstar Support, but they are unable to help me. I can't resolve this issue for about 2 weeks now.

So, apparently, my GTA V just doesn't wanna work correctly.
I think this was already covered, but in like early 2014 and such, and I tried some things people said should work, back in 2014, but it seems none of the "solutions" work for me... It's 2019, after all, so yeah...

Recently, I've been playing GTA V Singleplayer mode, and I'm experiencing constant stutters, and some textures were not loading while driving at high speed. It's totally unplayable.
I drive around the city, with stutters, and all of a sudden, road dissapears, or buildings, they just dissapear for a few seconds, and then they come back. Still, it's really unplayable.
While stationary tho, textures load, but I still do get stutters, which is weird.

I also get a lot of FPS drops on lowest graphics settings possible, especially in Online.

This never happened to me before, and plus what is more weird is that stuttering and texture problems happen more often and the problem is much bigger in Singleplayer mode, while in Online, textures do load, and there is tiny bit of stutters here and there, but there is a lotta FPS drops as I said above, even on lowest settings possible.

Stutter and texture problems appeared out of nowhere, all of a sudden.
I don't think my hardware is a problem here. Don't think my OS is a problem either. Using Windows 10.

I really have NO IDEA what the problem might be. It can be either hardware (which I don't believe is a problem), or OS, or graphics drivers, or even the game itself.

HARDWARE: Using GTX 1050 and Intel i3 processor, and 8 GB of RAM, which is enough to run the game on High settings.

I tried to verify the game files, Rockstar told me to do that. The problem was kinda fixed. The next day, I enter the game, and I see that the problem was not fixed.

I was too lazy to contact any of the communities out there, and after 2 weeks, I decided to ask this wonderful community about this problem. So, yeah, here I am now.
Any reply would be much appreciated.

NOTE:

  1. There's no problems in any other game I played besides GTA, that's why I think the hardware is not a problem.
  2. Intel i3 4170 @ 3,70GHz, don't think that hardware is an issue. Been using this CPU for 2 years now, and GTX 1050, bought it last year in June, it's pretty much new, not used a lot, I wasn't really pushing it, it is in a really good condition.
  3. I don't believe there is a problem with my GPU, but maybe there's a problem with my RAM or CPU? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Also, there was a new update in GTA, and a new Nvidia driver. Everything was okay before the updates.

Best Regards,
Michael

Hi Michael, from your fourth note it definitely sounds like it could be a driver issue or something's got mixed up behind the scenes in your OS core files. Might be worth seeing if you can revert to a previous driver version or reinstall the one you have. If these issues aren't present on any other games it won't be a hardware issue.

If changing up your driver doesn't work try these:

  • Run GTAV.exe with various compatibility settings enabled through Properties

  • Change your DirectX settings in GTA to 10/11

  • Change some settings in your NVIDIA control panel overall and some specifically for GTA

  • Do a soft reset of your PC -and select the option to keep the files. This will revert any Windows settings and changes made to the OS.

You can access the soft reset option by typing reset into your search area. This has worked quite a lot for me to fix stuttering/fps drops in GTA but make sure to backup your files because occasionally it might lose a few - and you'll need to reinstall some things.

  • Revert to a previous update/version of Windows 10 and see if the issue is still present there

textures usually disappear because they can not be loaded into memory.

have you tried defragmenting your hard drive? might help with loading times

are there any other programs using a lot of memory on your computer? if yes, gta might not be able to load textures in

have you tried going back to previous nVidia driver version? just in case
